अ राजानो न प्रशस्तिभिः सोमासो गोभिरञ्जते च् यज्ञो न सप्त धातृभिः
The Somas, like kings with praises, are adorned with cows; the sacrifice, like one with seven arrangers.
अ परि स्वानास इन्दवो मदाय बर्हणा गिरा च् मधो अर्षन्ति धारया
The resounding drops, for delight, flow around with strength and song; they stream forth honey with their flow.
अ आपानासो विवस्वतो जिन्वन्त उषसो भगम् च् सूरा अण्वं वि तन्वते
The drinkers of light quicken the wealth of dawn; the strong ones spread abundance widely.
अ अप द्वारा मतीनां प्रत्ना ऋण्वन्ति कारवः च् वृष्णो हरस आयवः
The ancient doors of thoughts, the active ones open; the swift ones of the bull's energy.
अ समीचीनास आशत होतारः सप्तजानयः च् पदमेकस्य पिप्रतः
The seven-born priests, united, have sought the single path, desiring the one track.
अ नाभा नाभिं न आ ददे चक्षुषा सूर्य दृशे च् कवेरपत्यमा दुहे
As the navel is set in the navel, so I have placed it for the sight of the sun; I draw forth the offspring of the sage.
अ अभि प्रियं दिवस्पदमध्वर्युभिर्गुहा हितम् च् सूरः पस्यति चक्षसा
To the dear seat of heaven, hidden by the priests, the sun beholds with his eye.
अ असृग्रमिन्दवः पथा धर्मन्नृतस्य सुश्रियः च् विदाना अस्य योजना
The drops have flowed forth on the path of truth, of splendid form; their arrangements are his yokings.
अ प्र धारा मधो अग्रियो महीरपो वि गाहते च् हविर्हविःषु वन्द्यः
The foremost stream of honey, great, pervades the waters; the offering, worthy of praise among the offerings.
अ प्र युजा वाचो अग्रियो वृषो अचिक्रदद्वने च् सद्माभि सत्यो अध्वरः
The bull, foremost in speech, has bellowed in the forest yoked; the true sacrifice abides in the dwellings.
अ परि यत्काव्या कविर्नृम्णा पुनानो अर्षति च् स्वर्वाजी सिषासति
When the sage, purified by powers, moves around the works, he seeks to win the world of light.
अ पवमानो अभि स्पृधो विशो राजेव सीदति च् यदीमृण्वन्ति वेधसः
The purifying one, like a king, sits among the peoples, overcoming foes, when the wise ones urge him on.
अ अव्या वारे परि प्रियो हरिर्वनेषु सीदति च् रेभो वनुष्यते मति अ स वायुमिन्द्रमश्विना साकं मदेन गच्छति च् रणा यो अस्य धर्मणा
The dear golden one sits in the forests, surrounded by unfailing streams; the roaring one is praised by thought. He goes with wind, Indra, and the Ashvins together with intoxication, he who strives with his own law.
अ आ मित्रे वरुणे भगे मधोः पवन्त ऊर्मयः च् विदाना अस्य शक्मभिः
To Mitra, Varuna, Bhaga, the waves of honey flow, with his arrangements, with his powers.
अ अस्मभ्यं रोदसी रयिं मध्वो वाजस्य सातये च् श्रवो वसूनि सञ्जितम्
May the two worlds grant us wealth, sweetness, strength for winning, fame, and gathered treasures.
अ आ ते दक्षं मयोभुवं वह्निमद्या वृणीमहे च् पान्तमा पुरुस्पृहम्
To you, source of delight and wisdom, O Fire, we choose today as protector, far-reaching and sheltering.
अ आ मन्द्रमा वरेण्यमा विप्रमा मनीषिणम् च् पान्तमा पुरुस्पृहम्
To you, gentle, worthy, wise, and thoughtful one, we choose today as protector, far-reaching and sheltering.
अ आ रयिमा सुचेतुनमा सुक्रतो तनूष्वा च् पान्तमा पुरुस्पृहम्
To you, giver of wealth, of good counsel and noble deeds, we choose today as protector, far-reaching and sheltering.
अ मूर्धानं दिवो अरतिं पृथिव्या वैश्वानरमृत आ जातमग्निम् च् कविं सम्राजमतिथिं जनानामासन्नः पात्रं जनयन्त देवाः
The gods generated Agni, the universal, born from the head of heaven and the earth's support, the sage, the sovereign, the guest of the people, ever near, the vessel of offerings.
अ त्वां विश्वे अमृत जायमानं शिशुं न देवा अभि सं नवन्ते च् तव क्रतुभिरमृतत्वमायन्वैश्वानर यत्पित्रोरदीदेः
All the immortal gods rejoice in you, O newborn, like a child; by your powers they attained immortality, O universal one, when you shone forth between your two parents.
अ नाभिं यज्ञानां सदनं रयीणां महामाहावमभि सं नवन्त च् वैश्वानरं रथ्यमध्वराणां यज्ञस्य केतुं जनयन्त देवाः
The gods generated the universal one as the navel of sacrifices, the seat of riches, the great, the mighty; they rejoice in him, the charioteer of rites, the sign of sacrifice.
अ प्र वो मित्राय गायत वरुणाय विपा गिरा च् महिक्षत्रावृतं बृहत्
Sing forth to Mitra and Varuṇa with inspired song, for their great and mighty rule, vast and splendid.
अ सम्राजा या घृतयोनी मित्रश्चोभा वरुणश्च च् देवा देवेषु प्रशस्ता
Those two sovereigns, Mitra and Varuṇa, whose origin is in ghee, are praised among the gods as divine among divinities.
अ ता नः शक्तं पर्थिवस्य महो रायो दिव्यस्य च् महि वां क्षत्रं देवेषु
May your power, great on earth and in the heavens, be strong for us; great is your rule among the gods.
अ इन्द्रा याहि चित्रभानो सुता इमे त्वायवः च् अण्वीभिस्तना पूतासः
Indra, come with your shining light; these pressed drinks are purified for you by our hands, in small measures.
अ इन्द्रा याहि धियेषितो विप्रजूतः सुतावतः च् उप ब्रह्माणि वाघतः
Indra, come, inspired by prayer, accompanied by the wise, to the pressed Soma, to the hymns of the singers.
अ इन्द्रा याहि तूतुजान उप ब्रह्माणि हरिवः च् सुते दधिष्व नश्चनः
Indra, come eagerly, O tawny one, to the hymns; place our pressed Soma for our benefit.
अ तमीडिष्व यो अर्चिषा वना विश्वा परिष्वजत् च् कृष्णा कृणोति जिह्वया
Praise him who, with his flame, embraces all things, who with his tongue makes the dark things bright.
अ य इद्ध आविवासति सुम्नमिन्द्रस्य मर्त्यः च् द्युम्नाय सुतरा अपः
He who, kindled, calls for Indra's favor, that mortal finds abundant waters for glory.
अ ता नो वाजवतीरिष आशून्पिपृतमर्वतः च् एन्द्रमग्निं च वोढवे
May those swift, prize-bringing gifts carry us and our horses safely; to Indra and Agni, for our journey.
