अ एते सोमा असृक्षत गृणानाः शवसे महे च् मदिन्तमस्य धारया
These Somas have flowed forth, praised for their great might, with the most exhilarating stream.
अ अभि गव्यानि वीतये नृम्णा पुनानो अर्षसि च् सनद्वाजः परि स्रव
You, purified one, flow for the winning of cows, with manly strength; flow around, ever victorious.
अ उत नो गोमतीरिषो विश्वा अर्ष परिष्टुभः च् गृणानो जमदग्निना
And now, O singer, praise for us all the flowing streams, with a hymn, together with Jamadagni.
अ इमं स्तोममर्हते जातवेदसे रथमिव सं महेमा मनीषया च् भद्रा हि नः प्रमतिरस्य संसद्यग्ने सख्ये मा रिषामा वयं तव
This song we offer to the worthy Jātavedas; let us unite it with our thought as a chariot; for blessed indeed is our counsel in this assembly—Agni, may we not come to harm in your friendship.
अ भरामेध्मं कृणवामा हवींषि ते चितयन्तः पर्वणापर्वणा वयम् च् जीवातवे प्रतरं साधया धियो ऽग्ने सख्ये म रिषामा वयं तव
Let us bring the fuel, let us prepare your offerings, arranging them at each sacred time; for the sake of life, make a safe crossing for our thoughts—Agni, may we not come to harm in your friendship.
अ शकेम त्वा समिधं साधया धियस्त्वे देवा हविरदन्त्याहुतम् च् त्वमादित्यां आ वह तान्ह्यूश्मस्यग्ने सख्ये मा रिषामा वयं तव
May we be able to kindle you well; through you, may the gods accept the offered oblation; you, Agni, bring the Ādityas here, for indeed we call—Agni, may we not come to harm in your friendship.
अ प्रति वां सूर उदिते मित्रं गृणीषे वरुणम् च् अर्यमणं रिशादसम्
At your rising, O Sun, I praise you, Mitra, and Varuṇa, and Aryaman, the beneficent.
अ राया हिरण्यया मतिरियमवृकाय शवसे च् इयं विप्रामेधसातये
This thought, shining like gold, is for the mighty, the uninjuring, for strength, and for the wise, for the gaining of insight.
अ ते स्याम देव वरुण ते मित्र सूरिभिः सह च् इषं स्वश्च धीमहि
May we be yours, O god Varuṇa, may we be yours, O Mitra, together with the wise; may we obtain nourishment and well-being.
अ भिन्धि विश्वा अप द्विषः परि बाधो जही मृधः च् वसु स्पार्हं तदा भर
Break apart all hatreds, drive away obstacles, strike down the foes; bring us that desirable wealth.
अ यस्य ते विश्वमानुषग्भूरेर्दत्तस्य वेदति च् वसु स्पार्हं तदा भर
Of that which you, O god, have given to all humankind, whoever knows it—bring us that desirable wealth.
अ यद्वीडाविन्द्र यत्स्थिरे यत्पर्शाने पराभृतम् च् वसु स्पार्हं तदा भर
Whatever is hidden, O Indra, in the lair, in the firm place, or in the rock—bring us that desirable wealth.
अ यज्ञस्य हि स्थ ऋत्विजा सस्नी वाजेषु कर्मसु च् इन्द्राग्नी तस्य बोधतम्
For you are the priests of the sacrifice, ever victorious in contests and deeds—Indra and Agni, be aware of this.
अ तोशासा रथयावाना वृत्रहणापराजिता च् इन्द्राग्नी तस्य बोधतम्
Swift as thought, chariot-borne, slayers of Vṛtra, undefeated—Indra and Agni, be aware of this.
अ इदं वां मदिरं मध्वधुक्षन्नद्रिभिर्नरः च् इन्द्राग्नी तस्य बोधतम्
This exhilarating draught, pressed with stones, men pour for you—Indra and Agni, be aware of this.
अ इन्द्रायेन्दो मरुत्वते पवस्व मधुमत्तमः च् अर्कस्य योनिमासदम्
Flow, O Soma, most sweet, for Indra, for the Maruts; settle in the womb of the chant.
अ तं त्वा विप्रा वचोविदः परिष्कृण्वन्ति धर्णसिम् च् सं त्वा मृजन्त्यायवः
You, whom the wise, skilled in words, purify, O mighty one; you whom the pressing stones cleanse together.
अ रसं ते मित्रो अर्यमा पिबन्तु वरुणः कवे च् पवमानस्य मरुतः
May Mitra, Aryaman, and Varuṇa, O sage, drink your essence; may the Maruts of the flowing Soma partake.
अ मृज्यमानः सुहस्त्य समुद्रे वाचमिन्वसि च् रयिं पिशङ्गं बहुलं पुरुस्पृहं पवमानाभ्यर्षसि
Being purified, with good hands, you seek out speech in the ocean; you, O Pavamāna, rush toward abundant, variegated, much-desired wealth.
अ पुनानो वरे पवमनो अव्यये वृषो अचिक्रदद्वने च् देवानां सोम पवमान निष्कृतं गोभिरञ्जानो अर्षसि
Purifying, O bull, you roar in the lovely, unaging wood; O Soma, Pavamāna, you, adorned with cows, flow forth to the seat of the gods.
अ एतमु त्यं दश क्षिपो मृजन्ति सिन्धुमातरम् च् समादित्येभिरख्यत
Indeed, they cleanse this tenfold one, casting it forth, the offspring of the river, with the rays of the sun they proclaim it.
अ समिन्द्रेणोत वायुना सुत एति पवित्र आ च् सं सूर्यस्य रश्मिभिः
With Indra and also with Vāyu, the pressed Soma proceeds through the filter, united with the rays of the sun.
अ स नो भगाय वायवे पूष्णे पवस्व मधुमान् च् चारुर्मित्रे वरुणे च
Flow for our blessing, for Vāyu, for Pūṣan, sweet and lovely, for Mitra and Varuṇa as well.
अ रेवतीर्नः सधमाद इन्द्रे सन्तु तुविवाजाः च् क्षुमन्तो याभिर्मदेम
May our gatherings with Indra be rich in wealth, abundant, and nourishing, by which we may rejoice.
अ आ घ त्वावां त्मना युक्तः स्तोतृभ्यो धृष्णवीयानः च् ऋणोरक्षं न चक्र्योः
Come here, yoked by your own power, mighty one, for the singers, as a chariot wheel rolls swiftly.
अ आ यद्दुवः शतक्रतवा कामं जरित्र्^ईणाम् च् ऋणोरक्षं न शचीभिः
Whenever, O hundred-powered one, you fulfill the desire of the singers, as a chariot wheel rolls with your powers.
अ सुरूपकृत्नुमूतये सुदुघामिव गोदुहे च् जुहूमसि द्यविद्यवि
For the purpose of granting good form, we offer you, as one milks a cow that gives sweet milk, O you who shine in the heavens.
अ उप नः सवना गहि सोमस्य सोमपाः पिब च् गोदा इद्रेवतो मदः
Come to our libations, O drinker of Soma, drink the Soma; the joy of the generous one is in the giving of cows.
अ अथा ते अन्तमानां विद्याम सुमतीनाम् च् मा नो अति ख्य आ गहि
Then may we know the limit of your good graces; do not go beyond us, come here.
अ उभे यदिन्द्र रोदसी आपप्राथोषा इव च् महान्तं त्वा महीनां सम्राजं चर्षणीनाम् ए देवी जनित्र्यजीजनद्भद्रा जनित्र्यजीजनत्
When you, Indra, fill both heaven and earth like the dawns, you are the great king of the mighty, the lord of peoples; the divine mother, the blessed mother, has given birth to you.
