Like the radiant Sun whose power gathers all beings and bestows abundance, so too do you, divine one, draw us together by your strength and your many aids, showering prosperity upon us. By your might and your support, may we always behold the Sun’s light, and may you ever grant us well-being. Advance, O Soma, with your own potent weapon; bring us wealth that is doubly strong, and let prosperity flow to us. Move forward, unconquered and victorious in every contest, triumphant in battle, and bestow upon us the rewards of your victory. Purified one, magnified by our sacrifices within the sacred rites, you grant us prosperity. O Indu, bring us splendid, all-encompassing wealth—renowned among all—and let prosperity be ours. The exhilarating stream of the pressed Soma rushes forth in its fullness, invigorating all. The dawn, knowing the treasures and sustenance granted to mortals, witnesses this exhilarating stream as it pours forth. From the two generous ones, we have received thousands of gifts—the exhilarating stream surges on. From those whose thirty offspring and countless descendants bless us, we have received abundance; the exhilarating stream continues to flow. These Somas, praised for their great might, pour forth their most exhilarating stream. You, purified one, flow for the winning of cows with manly strength; ever victorious, encircle us. And now, O singer, let us together with Jamadagni offer hymns of praise for all the flowing streams. We offer this song to the worthy Jātavedas. Let us unite our thoughts with it as a chariot, for blessed indeed is our counsel in this assembly. Agni, may your friendship keep us from harm. Let us bring the sacred fuel, prepare your offerings, and arrange them at the proper times; for the sake of life, guide our thoughts safely across—Agni, may your friendship protect us. May we kindle you well, Agni; through you may the gods accept our offerings. Bring the Ādityas here, for we call upon them—Agni, may your friendship shield us from harm. At your rising, O Sun, I praise you, Mitra, Varuṇa, and Aryaman, the beneficent. This thought, radiant as gold, is offered to the mighty, to the gentle, to the wise, for strength and insight. May we belong to you, O Varuṇa and Mitra, together with the wise; may we find nourishment and well-being. Break apart all hatreds, drive away obstacles, strike down our foes; bring us that desirable wealth. Of all that you, O god, have given to humankind, let those who know it receive that desirable wealth. Whatever is hidden, O Indra—in lairs, in firm places, or in rocks—bring us that desirable wealth. You, Indra and Agni, are the priests of sacrifice, ever victorious in contests and deeds—be mindful of our prayers. Swift as thought, chariot-borne, slayers of Vṛtra, undefeated—Indra and Agni, attend to us. This exhilarating draught, pressed with stones, men pour for you—Indra and Agni, accept this offering. Flow, O Soma, most sweet, for Indra, for the Maruts; settle in the womb of the chant. You, whom the wise purify with skillful words, whom the pressing stones cleanse, mighty one—may Mitra, Aryaman, and Varuṇa drink your essence, and may the Maruts partake of the flowing Soma. Purified, with good hands, you seek out noble speech in the ocean; O Pavamāna, you rush toward abundant, variegated, and much-desired wealth. Purifying bull, you roar in the lovely, ageless wood; O Soma, Pavamāna, adorned with cows, you flow forth to the seat of the gods. They cleanse this tenfold one, casting it forth—the offspring of the river—proclaiming it with the rays of the Sun. With Indra and with Vāyu, the pressed Soma proceeds through the filter, united with the Sun’s rays. Flow for our blessing, for Vāyu, for Pūṣan, sweet and lovely, for Mitra and Varuṇa as well. May our gatherings with Indra be rich in wealth, abundant and nourishing, so that we may rejoice. Come here, mighty one, yoked by your own power for the singers, swift as a chariot wheel. Whenever, O hundred-powered one, you fulfill the desires of the singers, roll to us as the chariot wheel rolls with your powers. For the granting of good form, we offer you as one milks a cow that gives sweet milk—O you who shine in the heavens. Come to our libations, O drinker of Soma; drink the Soma, for the joy of the generous is in the giving of cows. Then may we know the bounds of your good graces; do not pass us by—come here. When you, Indra, fill both heaven and earth like the dawns, you are the great king of the mighty, lord of peoples; the divine mother, the blessed mother, has given birth to you.
