Grant us, O Agni, ever-increasing, praiseworthy wealth, O purifier, and bestow upon us, O matchless one, abundant, much-desired prosperity, guided by good counsel and renowned for good deeds.
He who gives all treasures, the cheerful priest of the people, the first to taste the honey, to him let our praises go—to Agni.
With this reverence I call upon Agni, the son of strength, beloved, most swift, unfailing, the proper priest of the sacrifice, the immortal messenger of all.
You lie hidden in the woods, O Agni, and mortals kindle you together. Tireless, you carry the offering that is prepared; then among the gods you reign as king.
He has been seen, the best knower of the path, in whom the sacred laws are established. Let not our words fail to reach the noble one who is born nearby.
Agni is praised in song as the household priest, the stones and the sacrificial grass at the rite. With hymn I call the Maruts, Brahmanaspati, and the gods for worthy help.
We seek Agni’s help with chants, the one with sharp flame. For wealth, men praise Agni, much-invoked and renowned, as a shield for good guidance.
Hear, you who listen, with your fire-kindling gods, Agni, with your companions. Let Mitra and Aryaman sit on the sacred grass at the morning rite with you.
Agni, son of Divodāsa, like Indra by his might, has spread wide over mother earth and stood firm in the shelter of the sky.
Whether from here or from the great shining expanse of heaven, by this body and my word, O well-minded one, fulfill what is born of me.
When you, Agni, move among the woods, born of your mothers, you never fail to return, whether you are far or near.

May the divine giver of wealth, in the first and second half, pour forth for you a full stream; press out the Soma, pour it up, fill it up—at the very beginning, the god is invoked for you.
Let Bṛhaspati advance; let the gracious goddess approach; let the gods lead our sacrifice to the heroic, noble one, the bestower of abundance.
May the god Savitṛ stand upright for our aid; may the bestower of strength rise high—when, with his guiding hands, we call upon him for gifts.
He who desires wealth, the mortal who serves you, O giver, he attains a heroic son, O Agni, a praiser of hymns, rich in a thousand-fold abundance by his own power.
With hymns and words we choose you, Agni, the strong one among many peoples, among the worshippers, whom others kindle as the guest.
This Agni is the lord of good fortune, the master of prosperity, the master of wealth with cattle, the master of victories over foes.
You, Agni, are the house-lord, you are our priest at the sacrifice, you are the carrier, all-knowing, you fashion and bring the desired reward.
As friends, we mortals have chosen you, O god, for help—O offspring of the waters, fortunate, wise, well-praised, free from sin.
Offer and purify with oblation; set the priest, the house-lord, in his place; in the seat of Iḍā, with reverence, worship the worthy receiver of offerings, the honored one of the dwellings.

To the worthy Jātavedas we offer this praise, as with a chariot, with our thought; for our assembly, Agni, may your favor be auspicious—may we not be separated from your friendship.
The gods generated Agni, the universal one, the guest of the peoples, the seer, the sovereign, the head of heaven, the support of earth, born from the cosmic order, near to the vessel.
From you, the waters spread out, as from the summit of a mountain; with hymns, O Agni, the gods generated you; to you, the songs, well-praised, bring strength, as victorious horses win the prize in battle.
To you, make Agni, the king of the sacrifice, Rudra, the true-offering priest of earth and heaven, the ancient one, the golden-formed, ready for help, before the thunderer's thoughtless act.
The king is kindled, the companion, with reverence; whose face, when invoked with ghee, men praise with offerings; Agni, the mighty, shines foremost at the approach of dawn.
