स गृणानो अद्भिर्देववानिति सुबन्धुर्नमसा सूक्तैः । वर्धदुक्थैर्वचोभिरा हि नूनं व्यध्वैति पयस उस्रियायाः
He, singing, endowed with the gods, with water, the good kinsman, with reverence and hymns; let him grow with praises, with words—now indeed he approaches the milk of the bright cow.
त ऊ षु णो महो यजत्रा भूत देवास ऊतये सजोषाः । ये वाजाँ अनयता वियन्तो ये स्था निचेतारो अमूराः
May you, O worshipful gods, united in purpose, become great in strength for our aid; you who bring forth the prizes, who move freely, who stand firm, who are wise and unfailing.
ये यज्ञेन दक्षिणया समक्ता इन्द्रस्य सख्यममृतत्वमानश । तेभ्यो भद्रमङ्गिरसो वो अस्तु प्रति गृभ्णीत मानवं सुमेधसः
Those who, joined with sacrifice and offering, have sought Indra's friendship and immortality—may the Angirases grant you blessing; accept, O wise ones, the gift of humanity.
य उदाजन्पितरो गोमयं वस्वृतेनाभिन्दन्परिवत्सरे वलम् । दीर्घायुत्वमङ्गिरसो वो अस्तु प्रति गृभ्णीत मानवं सुमेधसः
Those fathers who, with truth, broke open the enclosure for the cows in the revolving year—may the Angirases grant you long life; accept, O wise ones, the gift of humanity.
य ऋतेन सूर्यमारोहयन्दिव्यप्रथयन्पृथिवीं मातरं वि । सुप्रजास्त्वमङ्गिरसो वो अस्तु प्रति गृभ्णीत मानवं सुमेधसः
Those who, by truth, caused the sun to ascend and spread forth the mother earth and the sky—may the Angirases grant you noble offspring; accept, O wise ones, the gift of humanity.
अयं नाभा वदति वल्गु वो गृहे देवपुत्रा ऋषयस्तच्छृणोतन । सुब्रह्मण्यमङ्गिरसो वो अस्तु प्रति गृभ्णीत मानवं सुमेधसः
This one speaks sweetly in your house, O sons of gods, O sages, listen to that; may the Angirases grant you excellent prayers; accept, O wise ones, the gift of humanity.
विरूपास इदृषयस्त इद्गम्भीरवेपसः । ते अङ्गिरसः सूनवस्ते अग्नेः परि जज्ञिरे
Those sages of varied forms, trembling in depth, those Angirases, sons, were born around Agni.
ये अग्नेः परि जज्ञिरे विरूपासो दिवस्परि । नवग्वो नु दशग्वो अङ्गिरस्तमो सचा देवेषु मंहते
Those of varied forms who were born around Agni, around the sky; the nine-cowed, the ten-cowed Angirases, most worthy, are honored among the gods.
इन्द्रेण युजा निः सृजन्त वाघतो व्रजं गोमन्तमश्विनम् । सहस्रं मे ददतो अष्टकर्ण्यः श्रवो देवेष्वक्रत
With Indra as ally, they send forth the prize-rich herd, the Ashvins; the eight-eared ones, giving thousands, have made fame among the gods.
प्र नूनं जायतामयं मनुस्तोक्मेव रोहतु । यः सहस्रं शताश्वं सद्यो दानाय मंहते
Now let this Manu be born, let him rise as a child; he who desires to give thousands and a hundred horses at once.
न तमश्नोति कश्चन दिव इव सान्वारभम् । सावर्ण्यस्य दक्षिणा वि सिन्धुरिव पप्रथे
No one attains him, like the sky with its shining light; Sāvarṇya's offering spreads out like a river.
उत दासा परिविषे स्मद्दिष्टी गोपरीणसा । यदुस्तुर्वश्च मामहे
Even the servants, with their appointed tasks and cow protection, have honored us; Turvasha and Yadu have praised me.
सहस्रदा ग्रामणीर्मा रिषन्मनुः सूर्येणास्य यतमानैतु दक्षिणा । सावर्णेर्देवाः प्र तिरन्त्वायुर्यस्मिन्नश्रान्ता असनाम वाजम्
Let the leader who gives thousands not suffer harm; let Manu's offering strive with the sun; may the gods of Sāvarṇa grant long life, in whom we, tireless, have gained the prize.
परावतो ये दिधिषन्त आप्यं मनुप्रीतासो जनिमा विवस्वतः । ययातेर्ये नहुष्यस्य बर्हिषि देवा आसते ते अधि ब्रुवन्तु नः
Those who, from afar, seek the ancient, beloved by Manu, the birth of Vivasvat; those who sit on Yayāti's and Nahusha's sacrificial grass, O gods, may they speak for us.
विश्वा हि वो नमस्यानि वन्द्या नामानि देवा उत यज्ञियानि वः । ये स्थ जाता अदितेरद्भ्यस्परि ये पृथिव्यास्ते म इह श्रुता हवम्
All your names are to be revered and praised, O gods, and your sacrificial acts; you who are born from Aditi, from the waters, you of the earth, may you hear my call here.
येभ्यो माता मधुमत्पिन्वते पयः पीयूषं द्यौरदितिरद्रिबर्हाः । उक्थशुष्मान्वृषभरान्स्वप्नसस्ताँ आदित्याँ अनु मदा स्वस्तये
From whom the mother pours sweet milk, nourishing nectar, the sky, Aditi, and the sacrificial grass; those Adityas, strong in hymns and mighty, bring joy for our welfare.
नृचक्षसो अनिमिषन्तो अर्हणा बृहद्देवासो अमृतत्वमानशुः । ज्योतीरथा अहिमाया अनागसो दिवो वर्ष्माणं वसते स्वस्तये
With human vision, unwavering, worthy of honor, the great gods have sought immortality; riding in light, free from deceit, sinless, they dwell in the heights of heaven for our welfare.
सम्राजो ये सुवृधो यज्ञमाययुरपरिह्वृता दधिरे दिवि क्षयम् । ताँ आ विवास नमसा सुवृक्तिभिर्महो आदित्याँ अदितिं स्वस्तये
Those sovereigns, well-nourished, who have come to the sacrifice, unassailed, have established their abode in heaven; to them I call with reverence and praise, the great Adityas, Aditi, for our welfare.
को व स्तोमं राधति यं जुजोषथ विश्वे देवासो मनुषो यति ष्ठन । को वोऽध्वरं तुविजाता अरं करद्यो नः पर्षदत्यंहः स्वस्तये
Who will praise the hymn that you all, O gods, delight in, which mortals offer? Who will make your sacrifice pleasing, O mighty-born? May you lead us past distress for our welfare.
येभ्यो होत्रां प्रथमामायेजे मनुः समिद्धाग्निर्मनसा सप्त होतृभिः । त आदित्या अभयं शर्म यच्छत सुगा नः कर्त सुपथा स्वस्तये
To those for whom Manu, with kindled fire and mind, first performed the priestly rite with seven priests—O Ādityas, grant us fearless shelter; make our paths easy and lead us to well-being.
य ईशिरे भुवनस्य प्रचेतसो विश्वस्य स्थातुर्जगतश्च मन्तवः । ते नः कृतादकृतादेनसस्पर्यद्या देवासः पिपृता स्वस्तये
You, wise rulers of the world, who are to be considered in all that stands and moves—may you, O gods, protect us from both done and undone wrongs, and preserve us for well-being.
भरेष्विन्द्रं सुहवं हवामहेऽंहोमुचं सुकृतं दैव्यं जनम् । अग्निं मित्रं वरुणं सातये भगं द्यावापृथिवी मरुतः स्वस्तये
In battles we call upon Indra, easily invoked, the remover of distress, the divine and righteous being; Agni, Mitra, Varuṇa for help; Bhaga, Heaven and Earth, and the Maruts for well-being.
सुत्रामाणं पृथिवीं द्यामनेहसं सुशर्माणमदितिं सुप्रणीतिम् । दैवीं नावं स्वरित्रामनागसमस्रवन्तीमा रुहेमा स्वस्तये
May we ascend the earth and sky, free from harm, with broad shelter, with Aditi's good guidance; may we board the divine ship, radiant, sinless, ever-flowing, for our well-being.
विश्वे यजत्रा अधि वोचतोतये त्रायध्वं नो दुरेवाया अभिह्रुतः । सत्यया वो देवहूत्या हुवेम शृण्वतो देवा अवसे स्वस्तये
All you worshipful gods, speak for our aid; protect us from evil and from those who attack us. With true invocation we call upon you, gods who hear, for help and for well-being.
अपामीवामप विश्वामनाहुतिमपारातिं दुर्विदत्रामघायतः । आरे देवा द्वेषो अस्मद्युयोतनोरु णः शर्म यच्छता स्वस्तये
Drive away all disease, all misfortune, all that is unoffered, all poverty, and all that brings harm. O gods, remove hatred far from us; grant us wide shelter for our well-being.
अरिष्टः स मर्तो विश्व एधते प्र प्रजाभिर्जायते धर्मणस्परि । यमादित्यासो नयथा सुनीतिभिरति विश्वानि दुरिता स्वस्तये
That mortal is unharmed, prospers in every way, and is born with offspring in accordance with law, whom you Ādityas lead with good guidance, passing over all evils for well-being.
यं देवासोऽवथ वाजसातौ यं शूरसाता मरुतो हिते धने । प्रातर्यावाणं रथमिन्द्र सानसिमरिष्यन्तमा रुहेमा स्वस्तये
Whom you gods protect in the contest for strength, whom the Maruts guard in the quest for wealth, whom Indra brings at dawn in his victorious chariot—may we ascend unharmed for well-being.
स्वस्ति नः पथ्यासु धन्वसु स्वस्त्यप्सु वृजने स्वर्वति । स्वस्ति नः पुत्रकृथेषु योनिषु स्वस्ति राये मरुतो दधातन
May well-being be ours on the paths and in the wilds, well-being in the waters, in the gathering with light; well-being for us in child-bearing and in the wombs; O Maruts, grant us well-being in wealth.
स्वस्तिरिद्धि प्रपथे श्रेष्ठा रेक्णस्वत्यभि या वाममेति । सा नो अमा सो अरणे नि पातु स्वावेशा भवतु देवगोपा
That well-being which is best on the broad path, which comes to you with favor—may it protect us at home and in the field; may it be full of strength and guarded by the gods.
एवा प्लतेः सूनुरवीवृधद्वो विश्व आदित्या अदिते मनीषी । ईशानासो नरो अमर्त्येनास्तावि जनो दिव्यो गयेन
Thus the son of Plati has magnified you, all Ādityas, O Aditi, with his thought; you lords, with immortal men, may this people endure with divine life.
