You who stand in the mind, worthy of sacrifice, hear us; whatever we desire from you, O gods, grant it; victorious wisdom, wealth, heroism, and fame—today we seek the favor of the gods.
Today we seek the great favor of the great gods, vast and unbroken; so that we may possess wealth and heroic offspring—today we seek the favor of the gods.
May we attain the shelter of the great, kindled Agni, and blameless friendship with Mitra and Varuṇa for well-being; may we be foremost in the power of Savitṛ; today we seek the favor of the gods.
All you gods of Savitṛ, of true power, of Mitra's law, of Varuṇa, grant us good fortune, wealth, cattle, and fame, and wondrous riches.
Savitṛ from behind, Savitṛ from before, Savitṛ from above, Savitṛ from below; may Savitṛ grant us all-encompassing prosperity, may Savitṛ bestow upon us long life.
Homage to the vision of Mitra and Varuṇa, to the great god; honor that truth; praise the far-seeing, divine-born beacon, the son of heaven, Sūrya.
May that truth-speaking power protect me on all sides, and may Heaven and Earth, where the days are woven, guard me; whatever moves or enters all things, all the waters, and the Sun rises everywhere.
No false god dwells in your highest realm, where you, O Sun, drive your chariot with these rays; one path follows the east, and you, Sun, travel the expanse with your light.
With your light, O Sun, you dispel the darkness, and with your radiance you awaken all the world; by that, remove from us all that is unoffered, all evil and bad dreams, and bring us well-being.
Indeed, sent forth, you guard the order of all things, rising up, you follow your own law; whatever we declare to you today, O Sun, may the gods grant us that wisdom.
May Heaven and Earth, may the Waters, may Indra, may the Maruts hear our call and our words; let us not fall into misfortune at the Sun’s sight—may we, living, grow old in happiness.
May we always see you, O Sun, rising day by day, you who are friend of all, with good minds, clear sight, possessing offspring, free from sickness and guilt.
You, radiant and all-seeing, bearing great light, delight the eye with your shining form; as you ascend with your mighty power, may we, living, behold you, O Sun.
By your sign, all beings move and settle, and with the nights they return and enter in; O golden-haired Sun, by your sinlessness, day by day, bring us prosperity and well-being.
Grant us blessing through your gaze, blessing by day, blessing with your radiance, blessing with your warmth, blessing with your light; as the path is blessed and the home is blessed, so, O Sun, bestow upon us splendid wealth.
O gods, grant us protection for both two-footed and four-footed beings, for both kinds of offspring; whatever is eaten, drunk, or enjoyed, may that, free from harm, bring us happiness and health.
Whatever wrong we have done to you, O gods, by speech or by mind, or any disrespect toward the divine, if anyone among us is hostile to us, O Vasus, place that guilt on him.
In this glorious battle, O Indra, where there is tumult, you roar for victory; where the prize of cattle is sought among the bold, everywhere the flames of men fall.
Uncover for us, O Indra, a home full of abundance, wealth rich in cattle and renowned; may we, O mighty one, be victorious and prosperous, as we desire, grant us that, O generous one.
Whoever, whether Dasa or Arya, seeks to fight us, O Indra, praised by many, may our enemies be easily overcome; with you, may we pursue them in battle.
Who is to be invoked with small or great offerings, who brings help in need, O heroic one; him, the renowned, the near, we call today for aid—Indra, the hearer of prayers.
For I have heard of you, O Indra, as the generous one, the mighty bull, the inspirer of gifts; release yourself from the bonds of Kutsas and come here—why do you, the strong, remain bound among the weak?
Your well-yoked chariot, O Ashvins, is to be invoked at dawn and dusk with offerings; may we call upon that ever-helpful name of yours, like the name of a father, with loving praise.
Urge on our songs, fill our thoughts with abundance, stir up the inspired ones, grant us that; O Ashvins, grant us a share of glory, as Soma, the lovely one, is prepared for the generous.
Even for one who is not yet mature, you become support, O Bhaga; even for one who is helpless, you are the helpers; even for one who is blind, O Nasatyas, you are the guides; even for one who is weak, people call you the youthful healers; even for one who is silent, you are the physicians.
You restored Cyavana, old and worn, like a chariot, making him young again for movement; you removed the fierce one from the waters; all these deeds of yours are to be proclaimed in the sacrifices.
I will declare your ancient heroic deeds among the people; thus you, as healers, bring joy; now we seek your new help, O Nasatyas, as one places trust in a sharp blade.
