स्तोमं त इन्द्र विमदा अजीजनन्नपूर्व्यं पुरुतमं सुदानवे । विद्मा ह्यस्य भोजनमिनस्य यदा पशुं न गोपाः करामहे
For you, Indra, the hymns and praises have been composed—unprecedented, most excellent for the generous one. We know indeed his bounty, his favor, as when herdsmen care for their cattle.
माकिर्न एना सख्या वि यौषुस्तव चेन्द्र विमदस्य च ऋषेः । विद्मा हि ते प्रमतिं देव जामिवदस्मे ते सन्तु सख्या शिवानि
Let not this friendship be broken between us, nor the inspiration of your exhilaration, O Indra. For we know your favor, O god, as among kin; may your auspicious friendships be with us.
इन्द्र सोममिमं पिब मधुमन्तं चमू सुतम् । अस्मे रयिं नि धारय वि वो मदे सहस्रिणं पुरूवसो विवक्षसे
Indra, drink this Soma, rich in sweetness, pressed in the cup. Bestow wealth upon us; in your exhilaration, grant us abundant riches, O you of many possessions, for your favor.
त्वां यज्ञेभिरुक्थैरुप हव्येभिरीमहे । शचीपते शचीनां वि वो मदे श्रेष्ठं नो धेहि वार्यं विवक्षसे
We approach you with sacrifices, with hymns, with offerings, O lord of power, lord of the powerful. In your exhilaration, grant us the best reward, for your favor.
यस्पतिर्वार्याणामसि रध्रस्य चोदिता । इन्द्र स्तोतॄणामविता वि वो मदे द्विषो नः पाह्यंहसो विवक्षसे
You are the lord of treasures, the inciter of the needy, Indra, protector of singers. In your exhilaration, protect us from enemies and from harm, for your favor.
युवं शक्रा मायाविना समीची निरमन्थतम् । विमदेन यदीळिता नासत्या निरमन्थतम्
You two, O mighty and skillful ones, together, in harmony, churned (the mixture); when inspired by exhilaration, you, the two Asvins, churned it.
विश्वे देवा अकृपन्त समीच्योर्निष्पतन्त्योः । नासत्यावब्रुवन्देवाः पुनरा वहतादिति
All the gods assembled together when the two (Asvins) emerged in harmony; the gods said to the Asvins: 'Bring it back again.'
मधुमन्मे परायणं मधुमत्पुनरायनम् । ता नो देवा देवतया युवं मधुमतस्कृतम्
May my departure be sweet, and my return be sweet. O gods, by your divinity, may you both make for us what is done with sweetness.
भद्रं नो अपि वातय मनो दक्षमुत क्रतुम् । अधा ते सख्ये अन्धसो वि वो मदे रणन्गावो न यवसे विवक्षसे
Send us favorable winds for our mind, grant us skill and intelligence. Thus, in your friendship, O Soma, in your exhilaration, let our desires, like battle-horses to the pasture, be fulfilled for your favor.
हृदिस्पृशस्त आसते विश्वेषु सोम धामसु । अधा कामा इमे मम वि वो मदे वि तिष्ठन्ते वसूयवो विवक्षसे
Touched in the heart, you dwell in all abodes, O Soma. Thus, these desires of mine, in your exhilaration, stand ready for wealth, for your favor.
उत व्रतानि सोम ते प्राहं मिनामि पाक्या । अधा पितेव सूनवे वि वो मदे मृळा नो अभि चिद्वधाद्विवक्षसे
I do not transgress your ordinances, O Soma, nor your beneficent acts. Thus, like a father to his son, in your exhilaration, be gracious to us, even from harm, for your favor.
समु प्र यन्ति धीतयः सर्गासोऽवताँ इव । क्रतुं नः सोम जीवसे वि वो मदे धारया चमसाँ इव विवक्षसे
The inspired thoughts go forth together, like streams descending. Grant us, Soma, strength for life, in your exhilaration, sustain us like cups, for your favor.
तव त्ये सोम शक्तिभिर्निकामासो व्यृण्विरे । गृत्सस्य धीरास्तवसो वि वो मदे व्रजं गोमन्तमश्विनं विवक्षसे
By your powers, O Soma, the eager ones have been chosen. The wise, the inspired, in your exhilaration, seek the rich pasture, the herd abounding in cattle, for your favor.
पशुं नः सोम रक्षसि पुरुत्रा विष्ठितं जगत् । समाकृणोषि जीवसे वि वो मदे विश्वा सम्पश्यन्भुवना विवक्षसे
You, Soma, protect our cattle, spread far and wide throughout the world. You gather them together for life, in your exhilaration, seeing all the beings, for your favor.
त्वं नः सोम विश्वतो गोपा अदाभ्यो भव । सेध राजन्नप स्रिधो वि वो मदे मा नो दुःशंस ईशता विवक्षसे
You, Soma, are our universal guardian, inviolable. Repel, O king, those who seek to harm us; in your exhilaration, let no evil-minded one rule over us, for your favor.
त्वं नः सोम सुक्रतुर्वयोधेयाय जागृहि । क्षेत्रवित्तरो मनुषो वि वो मदे द्रुहो नः पाह्यंहसो विवक्षसे
You, Soma, of good counsel, awaken for our gaining of strength; bestower of fields among men, in your exhilaration, protect us from hostility and from sin, for you wish to deliver us.
त्वं नो वृत्रहन्तमेन्द्रस्येन्दो शिवः सखा । यत्सीं हवन्ते समिथे वि वो मदे युध्यमानास्तोकसातौ विवक्षसे
You, Soma, are our gracious friend of Indra, the slayer of Vṛtra; when they call upon you in the assembly, in your exhilaration, you wish to deliver those fighting for offspring and home.
अयं घ स तुरो मद इन्द्रस्य वर्धत प्रियः । अयं कक्षीवतो महो वि वो मदे मतिं विप्रस्य वर्धयद्विवक्षसे
This, indeed, is the swift exhilaration that grows dear to Indra; this, in the exhilaration, increases the wisdom of the inspired one, for you wish to deliver.
अयं विप्राय दाशुषे वाजाँ इयर्ति गोमतः । अयं सप्तभ्य आ वरं वि वो मदे प्रान्धं श्रोणं च तारिषद्विवक्षसे
This one stirs up wealth with cattle for the devoted worshipper; this, in your exhilaration, brings forth the best for the seven, and you wish to cross over blindness and deafness.
प्र ह्यच्छा मनीषा स्पार्हा यन्ति नियुतः । प्र दस्रा नियुद्रथः पूषा अविष्टु माहिनः
Indeed, the splendid thoughts go forth, yoked; the wondrous ones, yoked to the chariot, go forth; may Pūṣan, strong in might, drive them.
यस्य त्यन्महित्वं वाताप्यमयं जनः । विप्र आ वंसद्धीतिभिश्चिकेत सुष्टुतीनाम्
Whose greatness this people, like the wind, would attain; the inspired one, with hymns, has recognized you both among those praised.
स वेद सुष्टुतीनामिन्दुर्न पूषा वृषा । अभि प्सुरः प्रुषायति व्रजं न आ प्रुषायति
He knows the praises—Indra, and Pūṣan the mighty; eager, he urges on, like a herd, he urges on.
मंसीमहि त्वा वयमस्माकं देव पूषन् । मतीनां च साधनं विप्राणां चाधवम्
We desire you, O god Pūṣan, for ourselves; the accomplishment of thoughts and the help of the inspired ones.
प्रत्यर्धिर्यज्ञानामश्वहयो रथानाम् । ऋषिः स यो मनुर्हितो विप्रस्य यावयत्सखः
The winner of the sacrifices, the chariots swift as horses; he is the seer, the chosen of Manu, the inspired one's restraining friend.
आधीषमाणायाः पतिः शुचायाश्च शुचस्य च । वासोवायोऽवीनामा वासांसि मर्मृजत्
The lord of the one who seeks, of the pure and the pure one; O Vāyu, you have cleansed the garments of the wearers.
इनो वाजानां पतिरिनः पुष्टीनां सखा । प्र श्मश्रु हर्यतो दूधोद्वि वृथा यो अदाभ्यः
He is the lord of prizes, our friend of abundance; his tawny beard has grown, who is unassailable.
आ ते रथस्य पूषन्नजा धुरं ववृत्युः । विश्वस्यार्थिनः सखा सनोजा अनपच्युतः
To your chariot, Pūṣan, the goats have turned the yoke; friend of all who seek, born together, unfailing.
अस्माकमूर्जा रथं पूषा अविष्टु माहिनः । भुवद्वाजानां वृध इमं नः शृणवद्धवम्
May Pūṣan, strong in might, harness our chariot of strength; may he, the increaser of prizes, hear this our call.
असत्सु मे जरितः साभिवेगो यत्सुन्वते यजमानाय शिक्षम् । अनाशीर्दामहमस्मि प्रहन्ता सत्यध्वृतं वृजिनायन्तमाभुम्
Among those who are not, O singer, I am the one with force, when I prepare for the pressing for the sacrificing worshipper; I am the giver of curses, the smiter, upholding truth, I destroy the one who seeks evil.
यदीदहं युधये संनयान्यदेवयून्तन्वा शूशुजानान् । अमा ते तुम्रं वृषभं पचानि तीव्रं सुतं पञ्चदशं नि षिञ्चम्
If I, for battle, gather together those who do not worship the gods, those who are intent on themselves; then I cook for you, O mighty bull, a strong, pressed Soma, the fifteenth, and pour it out.
