यत्र राजा वैवस्वतो यत्रावरोधनं दिवः । यत्रामूर्यह्वतीरापस्तत्र माममृतं कृधीन्द्रायेन्दो परि स्रव
Where King Yama is, where the enclosure of heaven is, where the rivers flow, there make me immortal. O Soma, flow for Indra.
यत्रानुकामं चरणं त्रिनाके त्रिदिवे दिवः । लोका यत्र ज्योतिष्मन्तस्तत्र माममृतं कृधीन्द्रायेन्दो परि स्रव
Where there is free movement, in the triple heaven, in the triple sky, where the worlds are full of light, there make me immortal. O Soma, flow for Indra.
यत्र कामा निकामाश्च यत्र ब्रध्नस्य विष्टपम् । स्वधा च यत्र तृप्तिश्च तत्र माममृतं कृधीन्द्रायेन्दो परि स्रव
Where desires and fulfilled desires are, where is the realm of the radiant one, where is sustenance and satisfaction, there make me immortal. O Soma, flow for Indra.
यत्रानन्दाश्च मोदाश्च मुदः प्रमुद आसते । कामस्य यत्राप्ताः कामास्तत्र माममृतं कृधीन्द्रायेन्दो परि स्रव
Where there are joys and delights, happiness and great happiness, where desires are attained, there make me immortal. O Soma, flow for Indra.
य इन्दोः पवमानस्यानु धामान्यक्रमीत् । तमाहुः सुप्रजा इति यस्ते सोमाविधन्मन इन्द्रायेन्दो परि स्रव
He who has followed the paths of the flowing Indu, they call him well-born; you, Soma, with your wisdom, flow around Indra, O Indu.
ऋषे मन्त्रकृतां स्तोमैः कश्यपोद्वर्धयन्गिरः । सोमं नमस्य राजानं यो जज्ञे वीरुधां पतिरिन्द्रायेन्दो परि स्रव
Kashyapa, with hymns composed by sages, exalts Angiras; let us revere Soma, the king, who was born as lord of the plants; flow around Indra, O Indu.
सप्त दिशो नानासूर्याः सप्त होतार ऋत्विजः । देवा आदित्या ये सप्त तेभिः सोमाभि रक्ष न इन्द्रायेन्दो परि स्रव
Seven directions with various suns, seven priests as ritual officiants; O Soma, protect us with those seven gods, the Adityas; flow around Indra, O Indu.
यत्ते राजञ्छृतं हविस्तेन सोमाभि रक्ष नः । अरातीवा मा नस्तारीन्मो च नः किं चनाममदिन्द्रायेन्दो परि स्रव
With your royal, purified offering, O Soma, protect us; let no adversary cross us, let nothing harm us; flow around Indra, O Indu.
अग्रे बृहन्नुषसामूर्ध्वो अस्थान्निर्जगन्वान्तमसो ज्योतिषागात् । अग्निर्भानुना रुशता स्वङ्ग आ जातो विश्वा सद्मान्यप्राः
At the beginning, the mighty one stood upright among the Dawns, driving out darkness and coming forth with light; Agni, shining with radiant form, was born and reached all dwellings.
स जातो गर्भो असि रोदस्योरग्ने चारुर्विभृत ओषधीषु । चित्रः शिशुः परि तमांस्यक्तून्प्र मातृभ्यो अधि कनिक्रदद्गाः
Born, you are the embryo of earth and heaven, Agni, beautiful, carried in the plants; the brilliant child, you cry out above the mothers, casting away the darkness.
विष्णुरित्था परममस्य विद्वाञ्जातो बृहन्नभि पाति तृतीयम् । आसा यदस्य पयो अक्रत स्वं सचेतसो अभ्यर्चन्त्यत्र
Thus Vishnu, knowing the highest, was born, mighty, and guards the third realm; when they made his milk, the wise ones here worship him with their own.
अत उ त्वा पितुभृतो जनित्रीरन्नावृधं प्रति चरन्त्यन्नैः । ता ईं प्रत्येषि पुनरन्यरूपा असि त्वं विक्षु मानुषीषु होता
Therefore, you whom the nourishing mothers approach with food, you grow and move with nourishment; you return, assuming another form, and you are the priest among human tribes.
होतारं चित्ररथमध्वरस्य यज्ञस्ययज्ञस्य केतुं रुशन्तम् । प्रत्यर्धिं देवस्यदेवस्य मह्ना श्रिया त्वग्निमतिथिं जनानाम्
The priest with splendid chariot, the sign of the sacrifice, shining, the opponent by the greatness of the divine one, with glory, you, Agni, are the guest of the people.
स तु वस्त्राण्यध पेशनानि वसानो अग्निर्नाभा पृथिव्याः । अरुषो जातः पद इळायाः पुरोहितो राजन्यक्षीह देवान्
He puts on garments and adornments, Agni, as the navel of the earth; born bright, at the foot of Ilā, he is the chief priest, king, and here rules the gods.
आ हि द्यावापृथिवी अग्न उभे सदा पुत्रो न मातरा ततन्थ । प्र याह्यच्छोशतो यविष्ठाथा वह सहस्येह देवान्
Both heaven and earth, Agni, always nurture you as a son does his mothers; come forth, O youngest, shining, and here bring the gods with your might.
पिप्रीहि देवाँ उशतो यविष्ठ विद्वाँ ऋतूँरृतुपते यजेह । ये दैव्या ऋत्विजस्तेभिरग्ने त्वं होतॄणामस्यायजिष्ठः
Satisfy the gods, O youngest, shining one, knowing the seasons, O lord of seasons, worship here; you, Agni, are the most worshipful among the divine priests.
वेषि होत्रमुत पोत्रं जनानां मन्धातासि द्रविणोदा ऋतावा । स्वाहा वयं कृणवामा हवींषि देवो देवान्यजत्वग्निरर्हन्
You are the priest and the purifier of the people, the giver of wealth, the righteous one; with 'svāhā' let us make offerings; let the god, Agni, worship the gods, worthy of honor.
आ देवानामपि पन्थामगन्म यच्छक्नवाम तदनु प्रवोळ्हुम् । अग्निर्विद्वान्स यजात्सेदु होता सो अध्वरान्स ऋतून्कल्पयाति
We have come upon the path of the gods; whatever we are able, let us proceed accordingly; Agni, knowing, let him worship, let him be the priest; he arranges the sacrifices and the seasons.
यद्वो वयं प्रमिनाम व्रतानि विदुषां देवा अविदुष्टरासः । अग्निष्टद्विश्वमा पृणाति विद्वान्येभिर्देवाँ ऋतुभिः कल्पयाति
When we transgress your vows, O gods, less wise than the wise; Agni, knowing, fills all, and with these seasons arranges the gods.
यत्पाकत्रा मनसा दीनदक्षा न यज्ञस्य मन्वते मर्त्यासः । अग्निष्टद्धोता क्रतुविद्विजानन्यजिष्ठो देवाँ ऋतुशो यजाति
When, with weak mind and lacking skill, mortals do not attend to the sacrifice; Agni, as priest, knowing the power, is the most worshipful, and worships the gods according to the seasons.
विश्वेषां ह्यध्वराणामनीकं चित्रं केतुं जनिता त्वा जजान । स आ यजस्व नृवतीरनु क्षा स्पार्हा इषः क्षुमतीर्विश्वजन्याः
Of all sacrifices, the visible sign, the splendid banner, the creator has produced you; so worship, following the noble ones, the desirable riches, the abundant, universal gifts.
यं त्वा द्यावापृथिवी यं त्वापस्त्वष्टा यं त्वा सुजनिमा जजान । पन्थामनु प्रविद्वान्पितृयाणं द्युमदग्ने समिधानो वि भाहि
You whom heaven and earth, you whom the waters, you whom Tvashtar, you whom the well-born have produced; following the ancestral path, O Agni, shining, blaze forth.
इनो राजन्नरतिः समिद्धो रौद्रो दक्षाय सुषुमाँ अदर्शि । चिकिद्वि भाति भासा बृहतासिक्नीमेति रुशतीमपाजन्
O king, the delight is kindled, fierce for skill, radiant and visible; wise, it shines with great brilliance, the white one is praised.
कृष्णां यदेनीमभि वर्पसा भूज्जनयन्योषां बृहतः पितुर्जाम् । ऊर्ध्वं भानुं सूर्यस्य स्तभायन्दिवो वसुभिररतिर्वि भाति
When she, dark, by her form, gives birth to the young woman, daughter of the great father; she raises the sun's radiance upward, delight shines forth with the treasures of heaven.
भद्रो भद्रया सचमान आगात्स्वसारं जारो अभ्येति पश्चात् । सुप्रकेतैर्द्युभिरग्निर्वितिष्ठन्रुशद्भिर्वर्णैरभि राममस्थात्
The fortunate one comes, joining with the fortunate; the lover approaches his sister from behind; Agni stands with clear signs, with heavenly colors, he takes his place with beauty.
अस्य यामासो बृहतो न वग्नूनिन्धाना अग्नेः सख्युः शिवस्य । ईड्यस्य वृष्णो बृहतः स्वासो भामासो यामन्नक्तवश्चिकित्रे
His movements, like those of the great, are not hidden; the companions of Agni, the auspicious, are kindled; the noble, the mighty, the praised, his breaths shine, moving in the night with varied brightness.
स्वना न यस्य भामासः पवन्ते रोचमानस्य बृहतः सुदिवः । ज्येष्ठेभिर्यस्तेजिष्ठैः क्रीळुमद्भिर्वर्षिष्ठेभिर्भानुभिर्नक्षति द्याम्
His breaths, like those of the resounding, flow forth, of the shining, the great, the radiant; with the eldest, the strongest, the playful, the most abundant rays, he does not harm the sky.
अस्य शुष्मासो ददृशानपवेर्जेहमानस्य स्वनयन्नियुद्भिः । प्रत्नेभिर्यो रुशद्भिर्देवतमो वि रेभद्भिररतिर्भाति विभ्वा
His powers are seen, not concealed, striving with resounding helpers; with ancient, shining ones, most divine, with those who rejoice, delight shines forth, spreading widely.
स आ वक्षि महि न आ च सत्सि दिवस्पृथिव्योररतिर्युवत्योः । अग्निः सुतुकः सुतुकेभिरश्वै रभस्वद्भी रभस्वाँ एह गम्याः
He will carry us, and he will sit with us, delight of heaven and earth, youthful; Agni, well-born, with well-born horses, swift ones, let the swift come here.
प्र ते यक्षि प्र त इयर्मि मन्म भुवो यथा वन्द्यो नो हवेषु । धन्वन्निव प्रपा असि त्वमग्न इयक्षवे पूरवे प्रत्न राजन्
I offer to you, I send forth my thought, so that you may be worthy of our praise in the offerings; like water in the desert, you are the source, O Agni, for the worshipper, ancient king.
