Urged on, the creator of heaven and earth advances, like a chariot seeking the prize. Going to Indra, armed with weapons, he gathers all treasures in his hands.
The songs have resounded to the strong, three-backed, youthful one. Clothed in the woods, like Varuṇa among rivers, he bestows precious gifts and grants riches.
With a host of heroes, all-powerful, victorious, purify yourself, Soma, as the winner of wealth. With sharp weapons, swift bow, in battles, be fierce, subduing enemies in the contests.
With wide pastures, making all things fearless, flow together, O purifier, with the wise. Seeking the waters, the radiant dawns, resounding, bring us great prizes.
Rejoice, Soma, in Varuṇa, rejoice in Mitra, rejoice in Indra, O purified drop, in Viṣṇu. Rejoice in the host of the Maruts, rejoice in the gods, rejoice greatly, O purified drop, for exhilaration.
Thus, like a king with wisdom, purify yourself, destroying all evils. O drop, for the hymn and the word, grant us wings. Always protect us with blessings.
He has flowed forth, strong, as on a chariot in battle, with thought and intention, the foremost thinker. Ten sisters, upon the summit of the mountain, have given birth to the fire, each to their own dwelling.
Indu, poured out, with the songs of the heavenly people, has flowed upon the Nahusha's, with the wise. He, immortal among men, cleanses himself with cows and waters, shining with the pure.
The bull, roaring for the mighty, the sharp one, pavamana, has poured out the shining milk of the cow. With a thousand streams, along the paths, the sun moves forth, distributing speech among us.
Break even the firm strongholds of the foe, purifying Indu, sweep away the prizes. The bull above strikes with his weapon; those who are near or far, bring them to us.
As in ancient times, for the new, all-encompassing, make the paths straight for the hymn. Those who are hard to conquer, mighty by nature, let us overcome them, O Soma, abundant in deeds and strength.
Thus, purifying, grant us heavenly waters, abundant offspring and descendants. Bless our field, wide light, Soma; bring us the sun to see, radiant for our vision.
The tawny one, poured out, flows in the filter, like a chariot released, striving for gain. Purified, he attains the hymn and power; the gods have accepted him with their offerings.
He has gone to the filter, bearing the name, the seer in the womb of the poet. Sitting like a priest in the house, among the vessels, the seven wise sages have approached.
Soma, purified, wise, knower of the path, always comes to the hymn, for all the gods. He delights in all songs, the wise one stretches forth among the people, five in number.
To you, Soma, purified, all the gods have come, three and eleven. Ten, with their own powers, on the mountain summit, the seven mighty rivers cleanse you.
Let this truth be of the purified Soma, where all the poets unite. When light was made for the day, it created the world; Manu led the Karabhika for the Dasyu.
Like a house, the sacrificer brings forth wealth, the king, true, comes to the assembly. Soma, purified, has entered the vessels; he sits like a deer or a buffalo in the forests.
Together, the ten sisters, the thoughts of the wise, cleanse, flowing. The tawny one ran around the vessel of the sun, measuring it, like a horse eager for the prize.
Like a child with his mothers, he rejoices, the bull, abundant in gifts, flows with waters. Like a young man with a maiden, he goes forth, Soma, to the vessel with the cows.
And the wise Indu fills the udder of the nourishing one, joining with streams. The cows, with milk, anoint the head in the vessels, with riches, as with ointment.
May you, purified, with the gods, O radiant Indu, bring us wealth, as the Ashvins do, rejoicing. May the generous one, the swift, the provider, bring us the riches of the gods for our enjoyment.
Now, bring us wealth, abundant in men, purified, delightful in all ways. Indu, praised, prolong our life; may the wise, swift, come to us in the morning with thought.
When, upon this, the thoughts contend, as the clans at the sun, seeking glory, the poet, choosing waters, flows, as a herd for the increase of cattle, with his hymn.
With twofold expansion you reveal the immortal realm; the worlds are spread out for the seeker of light. Nourishing thoughts, like cows in their pasture, approach the drop of Soma, moving in accordance with truth.
When the inspired one brings forth his inspired works, like a hero with his chariot, he traverses all the worlds. Among the gods he brings fame, and to mortals he brings adornment, ever new in his abundance of wealth.
Born for splendor, he advances with splendor; he bestows splendid vigor upon the singers. Clothed in splendor, they attain immortality; true in their assemblies, the two friends are united.
Seek nourishment and strength, bring forth the horse and the cow, make wide the light, delight in the gods. For all these, O purified Soma, are easily conquered by you; you drive away all enemies.
The tawny one advances, to be released, purifying himself in the belly of the wood. When he is pressed by men, he makes the path clear; from him, inspired thoughts are born by their own power.
The tawny one, being released, moves along the path of immortality; he raises his voice like a boat on the water. The god reveals the secret names of the gods, which I proclaim upon the sacred grass.
