परि धामानि यानि ते त्वं सोमासि विश्वतः । पवमान ऋतुभिः कवे
Around all your abodes, you, Soma, are present everywhere, O Purifying Sage, with the seasons.
पवस्व जनयन्निषोऽभि विश्वानि वार्या । सखा सखिभ्य ऊतये
Flow forth, generating streams, bringing all treasures; as a friend to friends, for aid.
तव शुक्रासो अर्चयो दिवस्पृष्ठे वि तन्वते । पवित्रं सोम धामभिः
Your brilliant rays, Soma, extend to the edge of heaven; with your abodes, you pervade the filter.
तवेमे सप्त सिन्धवः प्रशिषं सोम सिस्रते । तुभ्यं धावन्ति धेनवः
For you, Soma, these seven rivers flow forth in obedience; the cows run to you.
प्र सोम याहि धारया सुत इन्द्राय मत्सरः । दधानो अक्षिति श्रवः
Go forth, Soma, with your stream, pressed for Indra, exhilarating, bearing undiminished fame.
समु त्वा धीभिरस्वरन्हिन्वतीः सप्त जामयः । विप्रमाजा विवस्वतः
Together, the inspired thoughts have sung to you; the seven sisters, daughters of Vivasvat, urge you on.
मृजन्ति त्वा समग्रुवोऽव्ये जीरावधि ष्वणि । रेभो यदज्यसे वने
The skilled ones cleanse you in the vessel, as far as the old one, when you roar in the wood.
पवमानस्य ते कवे वाजिन् त्सर्गा असृक्षत । अर्वन्तो न श्रवस्यवः
For you, O Sage, the swift outpourings of the Purifying One have flowed, like eager horses seeking fame.
अच्छा कोशं मधुश्चुतमसृग्रं वारे अव्यये । अवावशन्त धीतयः
To the honey-dripping vessel, in the unchanging water, the inspired thoughts have hastened.
अच्छा समुद्रमिन्दवोऽस्तं गावो न धेनवः । अग्मन्नृतस्य योनिमा
To the ocean, the drops have gone, like cows to their stable; they have reached the womb of truth.
प्र ण इन्दो महे रण आपो अर्षन्ति सिन्धवः । यद्गोभिर्वासयिष्यसे
For us, O Indu, the waters, the rivers, flow for great battle, when you will clothe yourself with cows.
अस्य ते सख्ये वयमियक्षन्तस्त्वोतयः । इन्दो सखित्वमुश्मसि
Longing for your friendship, O Indu, we seek your aid; we desire your companionship.
आ पवस्व गविष्टये महे सोम नृचक्षसे । एन्द्रस्य जठरे विश
Flow for the winning of cows, for greatness, Soma, for the vision of men; enter Indra’s belly.
महाँ असि सोम ज्येष्ठ उग्राणामिन्द ओजिष्ठः । युध्वा सञ्छश्वज्जिगेथ
You are great, Soma, the eldest, most mighty among the strong, O Indu, most vigorous; you win in battle, embracing victory.
य उग्रेभ्यश्चिदोजीयाञ्छूरेभ्यश्चिच्छूरतरः । भूरिदाभ्यश्चिन्मंहीयान्
You are mightier even than the mighty, braver than the brave, and more generous than the very bountiful.
त्वं सोम सूर एषस्तोकस्य साता तनूनाम् । वृणीमहे सख्याय वृणीमहे युज्याय
You, Soma, are the hero, the protector of offspring and bodies; we choose you for friendship, we choose you for alliance.
अग्न आयूंषि पवस आ सुवोर्जमिषं च नः । आरे बाधस्व दुच्छुनाम्
O Agni, purify our lives, bring us strength and nourishment; drive far away the evil spirits.
अग्निर्ऋषिः पवमानः पाञ्चजन्यः पुरोहितः । तमीमहे महागयम्
Agni, the sage, the purified one of the Panchajanas, the priest—him we invoke, the greatly praised.
अग्ने पवस्व स्वपा अस्मे वर्चः सुवीर्यम् । दधद्रयिं मयि पोषम्
Agni, purify yourself with wisdom for us; grant me brilliance and heroic strength, bestow wealth and nourishment upon me.
पवमानो अति स्रिधोऽभ्यर्षति सुष्टुतिम् । सूरो न विश्वदर्शतः
The purified one overcomes obstacles, he advances to glorious praise, like a hero of all-seeing vision.
स मर्मृजान आयुभिः प्रयस्वान्प्रयसे हितः । इन्दुरत्यो विचक्षणः
He, being cleansed by the rites, endowed with vigor, set for the offering, the wise, shining drop, is discerning.
पवमान ऋतं बृहच्छुक्रं ज्योतिरजीजनत् । कृष्णा तमांसि जङ्घनत्
The purified one has generated the great truth, the brilliant light; he has driven away the black darknesses.
पवमानस्य जङ्घ्नतो हरेश्चन्द्रा असृक्षत । जीरा अजिरशोचिषः
As the purified one dispels, the shining rays have streamed forth, aged yet ever-youthful in their glow.
पवमानो रथीतमः शुभ्रेभिः शुभ्रशस्तमः । हरिश्चन्द्रो मरुद्गणः
The purified one, best charioteer, most radiant with shining ones, Hari-chandra, leader of the Maruts.
पवमानो व्यश्नवद्रश्मिभिर्वाजसातमः । दधत्स्तोत्रे सुवीर्यम्
The purified one, like Vishnu, with his rays, bestower of strength, grants heroic power to the hymn.
प्र सुवान इन्दुरक्षाः पवित्रमत्यव्ययम् । पुनान इन्दुरिन्द्रमा
The pressed Soma, Indu, guards the unfailing filter; purifying, Indu seeks Indra.
एष सोमो अधि त्वचि गवां क्रीळत्यद्रिभिः । इन्द्रं मदाय जोहुवत्
This Soma, on the skin of the cows, plays with the stones, inviting Indra for exhilaration.
यस्य ते द्युम्नवत्पयः पवमानाभृतं दिवः । तेन नो मृळ जीवसे
By that glorious, abundant milk of yours, O purified one, brought from heaven—by that, grant us mercy for life.
त्वं सोमासि धारयुर्मन्द्र ओजिष्ठो अध्वरे । पवस्व मंहयद्रयिः
You are Soma, the supporter, most delightful and mighty at the sacrifice; purify yourself, bringing wealth that gladdens.
त्वं सुतो नृमादनो दधन्वान्मत्सरिन्तमः । इन्द्राय सूरिरन्धसा
You, pressed, delight men, bearing the most exhilarating draught, O Soma, wise with your juice for Indra.
