आ पवमान सुष्टुतिं वृष्टिं देवेभ्यो दुवः । इषे पवस्व संयतम्
O Pavamana, grant to the gods abundant praise and rain; purify yourself for wealth held together.
वृषा ह्यसि भानुना द्युमन्तं त्वा हवामहे । पवमान स्वाध्यः
You are a bull by your radiance; we call upon you, O Pavamana, self-ruler, shining with splendor.
आ पवस्व सुवीर्यं मन्दमानः स्वायुध । इहो ष्विन्दवा गहि
Flow for us, delighting, with heroic power, O self-armed one; come here, O drop, to this place.
यदद्भिः परिषिच्यसे मृज्यमानो गभस्त्योः । द्रुणा सधस्थमश्नुषे
When you are purified by waters, cleansed between the hands, you reach the seat in the vessel.
प्र सोमाय व्यश्ववत्पवमानाय गायत । महे सहस्रचक्षसे
Sing forth for Soma, for the swift-flowing, for Pavamana, for the great one with a thousand eyes.
यस्य वर्णं मधुश्चुतं हरिं हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिः । इन्दुमिन्द्राय पीतये
Whose color, honey-dripping, the tawny one, they urge with stones—the drop for Indra to drink.
तस्य ते वाजिनो वयं विश्वा धनानि जिग्युषः । सखित्वमा वृणीमहे
Of you, O vigorous one, who seeks all wealth, we choose the friendship for victory over all riches.
वृषा पवस्व धारया मरुत्वते च मत्सरः । विश्वा दधान ओजसा
O bull, flow with your stream, eager for Maruts, bearing all powers with your strength.
तं त्वा धर्तारमोण्योः पवमान स्वर्दृशम् । हिन्वे वाजेषु वाजिनम्
You, O Pavamana, supporter of both worlds, seer of the sun, I urge as the steed in contests.
अया चित्तो विपानया हरिः पवस्व धारया । युजं वाजेषु चोदय
With this very filter, O tawny one, flow with your stream; urge on your yokemate in the contests.
आ न इन्दो महीमिषं पवस्व विश्वदर्शतः । अस्मभ्यं सोम गातुवित्
Flow to us, O drop, with great nourishment, all-seeing; O Soma, guide us on the path.
आ कलशा अनूषतेन्दो धाराभिरोजसा । एन्द्रस्य पीतये विश
Come, O Soma, into the vessels with your streams, with your vigor; enter for Indra's drinking.
यस्य ते मद्यं रसं तीव्रं दुहन्त्यद्रिभिः । स पवस्वाभिमातिहा
Of you, whose strong, intoxicating juice they press with stones—flow forth, O Soma, destroyer of opposition.
राजा मेधाभिरीयते पवमानो मनावधि । अन्तरिक्षेण यातवे
The king, purified by wisdom, moves with purpose, Soma, to the limits of thought, to travel through the midspace.
आ न इन्दो शतग्विनं गवां पोषं स्वश्व्यम् । वहा भगत्तिमूतये
Bring to us, O Soma, the wealth of a hundred cows, the nourishment of cattle, and abundance of horses, for the gaining of good fortune.
आ नः सोम सहो जुवो रूपं न वर्चसे भर । सुष्वाणो देववीतये
Bring us, O Soma, strength and youthful vigor, form and brilliance, being well-pressed, for the favor of the gods.
अर्षा सोम द्युमत्तमोऽभि द्रोणानि रोरुवत् । सीदञ्छ्येनो न योनिमा
Flow forth, O Soma, most radiant, resounding in the vessels; settling like an eagle in its nest.
अप्सा इन्द्राय वायवे वरुणाय मरुद्भ्यः । सोमो अर्षति विष्णवे
Soma flows for Indra, for Vayu, for Varuna, for the Maruts, and for Vishnu, into the waters.
इषं तोकाय नो दधदस्मभ्यं सोम विश्वतः । आ पवस्व सहस्रिणम्
Grant us, O Soma, nourishment for our offspring on every side; purify for us abundant wealth.
ये सोमासः परावति ये अर्वावति सुन्विरे । ये वादः शर्यणावति
Those Somas that are pressed far away, those that are pressed nearby, and those in the land of Saryanavati,
य आर्जीकेषु कृत्वसु ये मध्ये पस्त्यानाम् । ये वा जनेषु पञ्चसु
Those in the Arjika sacrifices, those among the dwellings, and those among the five peoples,
ते नो वृष्टिं दिवस्परि पवन्तामा सुवीर्यम् । सुवाना देवास इन्दवः
May those Somas, O gods, bring us rain from the sky and heroic strength, being well-pressed.
पवते हर्यतो हरिर्गृणानो जमदग्निना । हिन्वानो गोरधि त्वचि
The tawny, desirable Soma is purified, praised by Jamadagni, flowing over the cow's shining hide.
प्र शुक्रासो वयोजुवो हिन्वानासो न सप्तयः । श्रीणाना अप्सु मृञ्जत
Bright, youthful, they flow forth, like seven streams, cleansing themselves in the waters.
तं त्वा सुतेष्वाभुवो हिन्विरे देवतातये । स पवस्वानया रुचा
You, Soma, the priests have set in the pressings for the purpose of the gods; so flow forth with this splendor.
आ ते दक्षं मयोभुवं वह्निमद्या वृणीमहे । पान्तमा पुरुस्पृहम्
To you, bring us skill, joy-bringing, fiery, intoxicating; may they guard us, the much-invoked.
आ मन्द्रमा वरेण्यमा विप्रमा मनीषिणम् । पान्तमा पुरुस्पृहम्
Bring to us the delightful, most excellent, wise, and thoughtful one; may they guard us, the much-invoked.
आ रयिमा सुचेतुनमा सुक्रतो तनूष्वा । पान्तमा पुरुस्पृहम्
Bring to us wealth, wise, of good counsel, O Soma, with your powers; may they guard us, the much-invoked.
पवस्व विश्वचर्षणेऽभि विश्वानि काव्या । सखा सखिभ्य ईड्यः
Purify yourself, O Soma, for all peoples, for all the sacred rites; friend, worthy of praise among friends.
ताभ्यां विश्वस्य राजसि ये पवमान धामनी । प्रतीची सोम तस्थतुः
With those two abodes, O Purifying Soma, you rule over all; Soma, you have stood facing forward.
