इषे पवस्व धारया मृज्यमानो मनीषिभिः । इन्दो रुचाभि गा इहि
Purify yourself for strength with your stream, being cleansed by the wise; O drop, come with your radiance to the cows.
पुनानो वरिवस्कृध्यूर्जं जनाय गिर्वणः । हरे सृजान आशिरम्
Purifying himself, the singer makes a path, producing strength for the people; with the tawny ones, he releases the swift one.
पुनानो देववीतय इन्द्रस्य याहि निष्कृतम् । द्युतानो वाजिभिर्यतः
Purifying himself, bestower of gifts to the gods, go forth, O drop, to Indra's dwelling; shining, accompanied by the swift ones.
प्र हिन्वानास इन्दवोऽच्छा समुद्रमाशवः । धिया जूता असृक्षत
The drops, impelled, have rushed swiftly toward the ocean; guided by thought, they have flowed forth.
मर्मृजानास आयवो वृथा समुद्रमिन्दवः । अग्मन्नृतस्य योनिमा
The streams, being cleansed, the drops, have come together toward the ocean; they have reached the womb of truth.
परि णो याह्यस्मयुर्विश्वा वसून्योजसा । पाहि नः शर्म वीरवत्
Come around us, O powerful one, with all treasures by your might; protect us with shelter rich in heroes.
मिमाति वह्निरेतशः पदं युजान ऋक्वभिः । प्र यत्समुद्र आहितः
The fire measures out the seed, fixing the step with the singers, when he is placed in the ocean.
आ यद्योनिं हिरण्ययमाशुरृतस्य सीदति । जहात्यप्रचेतसः
When the swift one sits in the golden womb of truth, he abandons those without understanding.
अभि वेना अनूषतेयक्षन्ति प्रचेतसः । मज्जन्त्यविचेतसः
The wise long for the one who is to be known; the conscious ones wait; the unconscious ones sink down.
इन्द्रायेन्दो मरुत्वते पवस्व मधुमत्तमः । ऋतस्य योनिमासदम्
For Indra and the Maruts, O drop, purify yourself, most sweet; having sat in the womb of truth.
तं त्वा विप्रा वचोविदः परि ष्कृण्वन्ति वेधसः । सं त्वा मृजन्त्यायवः
You, whom the inspired, knowing speech, surround, O wise one; the streams cleanse you together.
रसं ते मित्रो अर्यमा पिबन्ति वरुणः कवे । पवमानस्य मरुतः
Mitra, Aryaman, and Varuna, O sage, drink your essence; the Maruts of the purified one.
त्वं सोम विपश्चितं पुनानो वाचमिष्यसि । इन्दो सहस्रभर्णसम्
You, Soma, possessing wisdom, purifying yourself, seek speech; O drop, of a thousandfold abundance.
उतो सहस्रभर्णसं वाचं सोम मखस्युवम् । पुनान इन्दवा भर
And you, Soma, who are praised at the sacrifice, bring forth speech of a thousandfold weight, purified, O drop.
पुनान इन्दवेषां पुरुहूत जनानाम् । प्रियः समुद्रमा विश
Purified, O drop, much-invoked among people, beloved, enter the ocean.
दविद्युतत्या रुचा परिष्टोभन्त्या कृपा । सोमाः शुक्रा गवाशिरः
With flashing brilliance, with resounding voice, the bright Somas, with the cow as their head, flow forth.
हिन्वानो हेतृभिर्यत आ वाजं वाज्यक्रमीत् । सीदन्तो वनुषो यथा
When, impelled by the priests, the strong one advances to the prize, let him settle as companions do.
ऋधक्सोम स्वस्तये संजग्मानो दिवः कविः । पवस्व सूर्यो दृशे
O Soma, for prosperity, the wise one who has come together from heaven, flow pure for the sight of the sun.
हिन्वन्ति सूरमुस्रयः स्वसारो जामयस्पतिम् । महामिन्दुं महीयुवः
The sisters, the wives of the Lord of the clan, urge on the mighty drop, the great one, with strength.
पवमान रुचारुचा देवो देवेभ्यस्परि । विश्वा वसून्या विश
O Pavamana, shining with varied light, god among gods, enter all treasures for us.
आ पवमान सुष्टुतिं वृष्टिं देवेभ्यो दुवः । इषे पवस्व संयतम्
O Pavamana, grant to the gods abundant praise and rain; purify yourself for wealth held together.
वृषा ह्यसि भानुना द्युमन्तं त्वा हवामहे । पवमान स्वाध्यः
You are a bull by your radiance; we call upon you, O Pavamana, self-ruler, shining with splendor.
आ पवस्व सुवीर्यं मन्दमानः स्वायुध । इहो ष्विन्दवा गहि
Flow for us, delighting, with heroic power, O self-armed one; come here, O drop, to this place.
यदद्भिः परिषिच्यसे मृज्यमानो गभस्त्योः । द्रुणा सधस्थमश्नुषे
When you are purified by waters, cleansed between the hands, you reach the seat in the vessel.
प्र सोमाय व्यश्ववत्पवमानाय गायत । महे सहस्रचक्षसे
Sing forth for Soma, for the swift-flowing, for Pavamana, for the great one with a thousand eyes.
यस्य वर्णं मधुश्चुतं हरिं हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिः । इन्दुमिन्द्राय पीतये
Whose color, honey-dripping, the tawny one, they urge with stones—the drop for Indra to drink.
तस्य ते वाजिनो वयं विश्वा धनानि जिग्युषः । सखित्वमा वृणीमहे
Of you, O vigorous one, who seeks all wealth, we choose the friendship for victory over all riches.
वृषा पवस्व धारया मरुत्वते च मत्सरः । विश्वा दधान ओजसा
O bull, flow with your stream, eager for Maruts, bearing all powers with your strength.
तं त्वा धर्तारमोण्योः पवमान स्वर्दृशम् । हिन्वे वाजेषु वाजिनम्
You, O Pavamana, supporter of both worlds, seer of the sun, I urge as the steed in contests.
अया चित्तो विपानया हरिः पवस्व धारया । युजं वाजेषु चोदय
With this very filter, O tawny one, flow with your stream; urge on your yokemate in the contests.
