सोमो देवो न सूर्योऽद्रिभिः पवते सुतः । दधानः कलशे रसम्
Soma, god, like the sun, pressed by stones, is purified, placing his juice in the vessel.
एते धामान्यार्या शुक्रा ऋतस्य धारया । वाजं गोमन्तमक्षरन्
These bright, noble powers, by the stream of law, have flowed forth, unceasing, with cattle-rich strength.
सुता इन्द्राय वज्रिणे सोमासो दध्याशिरः । पवित्रमत्यक्षरन्
The pressed Somas for Indra the wielder of the bolt, with curdled head, have flowed through the filter.
प्र सोम मधुमत्तमो राये अर्ष पवित्र आ । मदो यो देववीतमः
O Soma, most sweet, flow through the filter for wealth, the exhilaration most pleasing to the gods.
तमी मृजन्त्यायवो हरिं नदीषु वाजिनम् । इन्दुमिन्द्राय मत्सरम्
The tawny ones cleanse him, the bay, the swift in the waters, the drop exhilarating for Indra.
आ पवस्व हिरण्यवदश्वावत्सोम वीरवत् । वाजं गोमन्तमा भर
Flow forth, Soma, golden, with horses, with cattle, with heroes; bring cattle-rich strength.
परि वाजे न वाजयुमव्यो वारेषु सिञ्चत । इन्द्राय मधुमत्तमम्
Pour out the most exhilarating for Indra, like a prize-winner among prizes, in the fleecy filters.
कविं मृजन्ति मर्ज्यं धीभिर्विप्रा अवस्यवः । वृषा कनिक्रदर्षति
The sages cleanse the poet, the one to be purified, with their thoughts, seeking help; the mighty one bellows and appears.
वृषणं धीभिरप्तुरं सोममृतस्य धारया । मती विप्राः समस्वरन्
With their thoughts, the wise proclaim the potent, abundant Soma, by the stream of immortality.
पवस्व देवायुषगिन्द्रं गच्छतु ते मदः । वायुमा रोह धर्मणा
Flow, Soma, with divine life; let your exhilaration reach Indra; ascend to Vayu by your law.
पवमान नि तोशसे रयिं सोम श्रवाय्यम् । प्रियः समुद्रमा विश
O Soma, flowing, you delight in wealth, in fame; beloved, enter the ocean, O radiant one.
अपघ्नन्पवसे मृधः क्रतुवित्सोम मत्सरः । नुदस्वादेवयुं जनम्
Flowing, you drive away enemies, Soma, wise and eager; push aside the people who are not divine.
पवमाना असृक्षत सोमाः शुक्रास इन्दवः । अभि विश्वानि काव्या
The flowing, bright Somas, the drops, have streamed forth, encompassing all works of wisdom.
पवमानास आशवः शुभ्रा असृग्रमिन्दवः । घ्नन्तो विश्वा अप द्विषः
The flowing, swift, shining drops have streamed forth, striking down all hostile forces.
पवमाना दिवस्पर्यन्तरिक्षादसृक्षत । पृथिव्या अधि सानवि
The flowing one has streamed forth from the sky, from the atmosphere, upon the summit of the earth.
पुनानः सोम धारयेन्दो विश्वा अप स्रिधः । जहि रक्षांसि सुक्रतो
Purifying Soma, hold back all failures, O Indu; destroy the demons, O wise one.
अपघ्नन्सोम रक्षसोऽभ्यर्ष कनिक्रदत् । द्युमन्तं शुष्ममुत्तमम्
Driving away the demons, Soma, roar forth, bellowing; bring forth the highest, radiant strength.
अस्मे वसूनि धारय सोम दिव्यानि पार्थिवा । इन्दो विश्वानि वार्या
Grant us the treasures, Soma, both celestial and earthly; O Indu, all desirable things.
वृषा सोम द्युमाँ असि वृषा देव वृषव्रतः । वृषा धर्माणि दधिषे
Mighty Soma, you are radiant; mighty god, you are steadfast in your vow; you uphold mighty laws.
वृष्णस्ते वृष्ण्यं शवो वृषा वनं वृषा मदः । सत्यं वृषन्वृषेदसि
Your might is mighty, your strength is mighty, your delight is mighty, your exhilaration is mighty; truly, you are mighty among the mighty.
अश्वो न चक्रदो वृषा सं गा इन्दो समर्वतः । वि नो राये दुरो वृधि
Like a horse with a bellow, mighty, O Indu, join together the cows; increase our wealth from afar.
असृक्षत प्र वाजिनो गव्या सोमासो अश्वया । शुक्रासो वीरयाशवः
The swift, cow-winning Somas, horse-winning, bright, heroic, and vigorous, have streamed forth.
शुम्भमाना ऋतायुभिर्मृज्यमाना गभस्त्योः । पवन्ते वारे अव्यये
Shining, living by truth, being cleansed between the hands, they flow in the unchanging stream.
ते विश्वा दाशुषे वसु सोमा दिव्यानि पार्थिवा । पवन्तामान्तरिक्ष्या
May these Somas, divine and earthly, flow for the worshipper, and those of the midspace as well.
पवमानस्य विश्ववित्प्र ते सर्गा असृक्षत । सूर्यस्येव न रश्मयः
Of the all-knowing, flowing one, your streams have poured forth, like the rays of the sun.
केतुं कृण्वन्दिवस्परि विश्वा रूपाभ्यर्षसि । समुद्रः सोम पिन्वसे
Making a banner across the sky, you move through all forms; O Soma, you swell like the ocean.
हिन्वानो वाचमिष्यसि पवमान विधर्मणि । अक्रान्देवो न सूर्यः
Flowing forth, you seek speech, O purified one, in your course; like a god, you cry aloud like the Sun.
इन्दुः पविष्ट चेतनः प्रियः कवीनां मती । सृजदश्वं रथीरिव
The drop, entering the filter, conscious, dear to the sages in their thought, sets free the horse like a charioteer.
ऊर्मिर्यस्ते पवित्र आ देवावीः पर्यक्षरत् । सीदन्नृतस्य योनिमा
Your wave, O purified one, has flowed around the filter, divine; settling in the womb of truth.
स नो अर्ष पवित्र आ मदो यो देववीतमः । इन्दविन्द्राय पीतये
May that exhilaration, most pleasing to the gods, flow for us through the filter, O drop, for Indra to drink.
