उपो षु जातमप्तुरं गोभिर्भङ्गं परिष्कृतम् । इन्दुं देवा अयासिषुः
Born pure, filtered with cows, adorned with fragments, the gods have approached the Soma.
तमिद्वर्धन्तु नो गिरो वत्सं संशिश्वरीरिव । य इन्द्रस्य हृदंसनिः
May our songs nourish him, like cows nurture a calf, who delights the heart of Indra.
अर्षा णः सोम शं गवे धुक्षस्व पिप्युषीमिषम् । वर्धा समुद्रमुक्थ्यम्
Flow for us, Soma, bringing happiness to the cow; milk out nourishing food; increase the ocean of praise.
पवमानो अजीजनद्दिवश्चित्रं न तन्यतुम् । ज्योतिर्वैश्वानरं बृहत्
Purified, you have created a wondrous thunder in the sky, a vast, universal light.
पवमानस्य ते रसो मदो राजन्नदुच्छुनः । वि वारमव्यमर्षति
The juice, the exhilaration of you, O king Soma, flows unimpeded, spreading through every stream.
पवमान रसस्तव दक्षो वि राजति द्युमान् । ज्योतिर्विश्वं स्वर्दृशे
Your juice, O purified one, your skill shines forth, radiant; the light is seen everywhere in the heavens.
यस्ते मदो वरेण्यस्तेना पवस्वान्धसा । देवावीरघशंसहा
With that excellent exhilaration, purify yourself with the pressed Soma; destroyer of evil, divine, heroic.
जघ्निर्वृत्रममित्रियं सस्निर्वाजं दिवेदिवे । गोषा उ अश्वसा असि
You have slain the hostile Vṛtra, you win the prize day by day; you are the giver of cows and horses.
सम्मिश्लो अरुषो भव सूपस्थाभिर्न धेनुभिः । सीदञ्छ्येनो न योनिमा
Become mingled, reddish, with nourishing cows; settle like an eagle in its nest.
स पवस्व य आविथेन्द्रं वृत्राय हन्तवे । वव्रिवांसं महीरपः
Flow, you who aid Indra in slaying Vṛtra, who has enveloped the great waters.
सुवीरासो वयं धना जयेम सोम मीढ्वः । पुनानो वर्ध नो गिरः
May we, Soma, full of praise, conquer wealth with noble sons; purified, increase our songs.
त्वोतासस्तवावसा स्याम वन्वन्त आमुरः । सोम व्रतेषु जागृहि
With your help and your favor, may we be victorious, overcoming obstacles; Soma, be vigilant in your vows.
अपघ्नन्पवते मृधोऽप सोमो अराव्णः । गच्छन्निन्द्रस्य निष्कृतम्
Soma flows, driving away hostilities, removing obstacles; going to Indra's abode.
महो नो राय आ भर पवमान जही मृधः । रास्वेन्दो वीरवद्यशः
O Purifying One, bring us great wealth; drive away our foes, O Indu, grant us renowned strength filled with heroes.
न त्वा शतं चन ह्रुतो राधो दित्सन्तमा मिनन् । यत्पुनानो मखस्यसे
Not even a hundred treasures can diminish you, who give gifts; when you, purified, delight in the offering.
पवस्वेन्दो वृषा सुतः कृधी नो यशसो जने । विश्वा अप द्विषो जहि
Flow on, O Indu, strong and pressed; grant us fame among people, and drive away all hatreds.
अस्य ते सख्ये वयं तवेन्दो द्युम्न उत्तमे । सासह्याम पृतन्यतः
In your friendship, O Indu, in your highest glory, may we prevail over those who contend against us.
या ते भीमान्यायुधा तिग्मानि सन्ति धूर्वणे । रक्षा समस्य नो निदः
Your fearsome, sharp weapons, ever ready—by them, protect us from every harm and from the wicked.
एते असृग्रमिन्दवस्तिरः पवित्रमाशवः । विश्वान्यभि सौभगा
These drops, O Indu, have flowed forth swiftly through the filter, seeking all good fortune.
विघ्नन्तो दुरिता पुरु सुगा तोकाय वाजिनः । तना कृण्वन्तो अर्वते
Destroying many evils, making easy paths for our children, O vigorous one, granting strength to our offspring.
कृण्वन्तो वरिवो गवेऽभ्यर्षन्ति सुष्टुतिम् । इळामस्मभ्यं संयतम्
Making wide space for the cow, they move forward with praise; may we receive the gathered nourishment.
असाव्यंशुर्मदायाप्सु दक्षो गिरिष्ठाः । श्येनो न योनिमासदत्
This Soma, pressed for exhilaration, skilled, dwelling on the mountain, has settled in its place like an eagle.
शुभ्रमन्धो देववातमप्सु धूतो नृभिः सुतः । स्वदन्ति गावः पयोभिः
The bright drop, purified by the gods' wind, pressed by men in the waters, the cows enjoy with their milk.
आदीमश्वं न हेतारोऽशूशुभन्नमृताय । मध्वो रसं सधमादे
Then, like horses, the pressers have adorned the immortal one with the essence of honey in the shared feast.
यास्ते धारा मधुश्चुतोऽसृग्रमिन्द ऊतये । ताभिः पवित्रमासदः
Those streams of yours, O Indu, flowing with honey for aid, with them you have reached the filter.
सो अर्षेन्द्राय पीतये तिरो रोमाण्यव्यया । सीदन्योना वनेष्वा
He flows for Indra to drink, passing through the unshorn hairs; he sits in the woods in his resting place.
त्वमिन्दो परि स्रव स्वादिष्ठो अङ्गिरोभ्यः । वरिवोविद्घृतं पयः
Flow around, O Indu, most sweet for the Angirases; grant wide space, clarified butter, and milk.
अयं विचर्षणिर्हितः पवमानः स चेतति । हिन्वान आप्यं बृहत्
This wise, purifying one is set in motion, he shines forth, pouring out the vast, ancient stream.
एष वृषा वृषव्रतः पवमानो अशस्तिहा । करद्वसूनि दाशुषे
This bull, with the vow of a bull, purifying, destroyer of curses, grants wealth to the worshipper.
आ पवस्व सहस्रिणं रयिं गोमन्तमश्विनम् । पुरुश्चन्द्रं पुरुस्पृहम्
Flow for us a thousandfold wealth, rich in cows and horses, shining before us, much to be desired.
