The ancient, shining essence of him the unwearied ones have milked forth—brilliant Soma, the thousand-streamed seer.
He, like the sun, looks on all sides; he runs through the streams, ascending the seven channels to the sky.
He, purified, stands above all worlds—Soma, the god, not the sun.
For our divine aid, you flow around us, O Soma, bringing wealth with cattle, purified, O drop, for Indra.
Pour forth nourishment for us, Soma, again and again with your juice, and grant us all good fortune.
O Indu, as your praise is sung, as your pressed juice is born, settle on the sacred grass, the beloved seat.
O Soma, flow for us with your juice, granting cows and horses, most swift with these days.
He who conquers and is not conquered, who strikes down the foe without fear—so may you flow, Soma, victorious by thousands.
Soma, swift, vast, flows through the filter in accordance with truth, driving away demons, divine in nature.
When Soma flows for strength, with a hundred streams, unceasing, he enters the friendship of Indra.
Ten maidens, like brides, yearn for you, the lover; you are cleansed, Soma, for the feast.
O Indu, flow sweetly for Indra and Vishnu; protect the men, the singers, from harm.
Your streams rush forth, as rains from the sky, towards the prize rich in horses and cattle.
He, seeing all lovely songs, flows on, the tawny one, stirring up his weapons.
He, purified by his powers, sits like a kingly elephant, firm in his vow, like a falcon on the pole.
May he, purified, bring us all treasures from heaven and earth, O Soma, the drop.
He, exhilarating, rushes forth—the stream of the pressed juice; he, exhilarating, rushes forth.
[https://sa.wikisource.org/s/fr9 ६.
The dawn knows by the hymn, pronounced aloud thereafter; it must be given to the Brahmins, distributed by the lord of men. The dawn, the wealth of mortals, the goddess of riches, moves swiftly, shining gently.
From the two shining ones, we give thousands; the dawn moves swiftly, shining gently.
From those two, we give thirty offspring and thousands; the dawn moves swiftly, shining gently.
Flow, Soma, conqueror of cows, conqueror of horses, conqueror of all, conqueror in battle; bring us the treasure rich in offspring.
Flow for the undeceivable, flow for the plants, flow for the wise women.
You, Soma, purified, cross over all evils; as a sage, sit down upon the sacred grass.
Purified, bringer of light, being born you became great; Indu, you approach all things.
Sing with the Gayatri meter to the purified, wise one, to Indu with a thousand eyes.
To you, with a thousand eyes and a thousand strengths, they have passed beyond the barrier.
Purified, you have crossed the barriers; you rush toward the vessels, entering Indra’s heart.
Soma, for Indra’s favor, flow, wise one; bring us offspring-rich wealth.
Flow around with this filter, Indu, who delights in intoxication; you have brought down the nine rivers.
At once, in this way, for Divodasa, you destroyed Shambara; then Turvasha and Yadu.
