पवमानो असिष्यदद्रक्षांस्यपजङ्घनत् । प्रत्नवद्रोचयन्रुचः
The purified one has destroyed the harmful, has crushed the malicious; the ancient lights shine forth.
उत्ते शुष्मास ईरते सिन्धोरूर्मेरिव स्वनः । वाणस्य चोदया पविम्
His powers rise up, resounding like the roar of a river's wave; urge on the press-stone with the song.
प्रसवे त उदीरते तिस्रो वाचो मखस्युवः । यदव्य एषि सानवि
Three voices, eager for the sacrifice, are raised at your flowing, when you, unimpeded, proceed to the channel.
अव्यो वारे परि प्रियं हरिं हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिः । पवमानं मधुश्चुतम्
Through unbroken coverings, they drive the beloved tawny one with stones, the flowing one who pours out sweetness.
आ पवस्व मदिन्तम पवित्रं धारया कवे । अर्कस्य योनिमासदम्
Flow forth, most exhilarating one, through the filter, O wise one; you have entered the womb of the hymn.
स पवस्व मदिन्तम गोभिरञ्जानो अक्तुभिः । इन्दविन्द्राय पीतये
So flow, most exhilarating one, adorned with cows and with garments, O drop, for Indra to drink.
अध्वर्यो अद्रिभिः सुतं सोमं पवित्र आ सृज । पुनीहीन्द्राय पातवे
O Adhvaryu, pour the pressed Soma with stones through the filter; purify it for Indra to drink.
दिवः पीयूषमुत्तमं सोममिन्द्राय वज्रिणे । सुनोता मधुमत्तमम्
Press out the highest, most nourishing Soma from heaven for Indra the wielder of the bolt, the sweetest one.
तव त्य इन्दो अन्धसो देवा मधोर्व्यश्नते । पवमानस्य मरुतः
Of your intoxicating juice, O drop, the gods, the Maruts, partake of the sweetness of the flowing one.
त्वं हि सोम वर्धयन्सुतो मदाय भूर्णये । वृषन्स्तोतारमूतये
For you, Soma, when pressed, increase for exhilaration, O bull, for the worshipper's inspiration.
अभ्यर्ष विचक्षण पवित्रं धारया सुतः । अभि वाजमुत श्रवः
Advance, O wise one, pressed through the filter; bring us strength and fame.
परि द्युक्षः सनद्रयिर्भरद्वाजं नो अन्धसा । सुवानो अर्ष पवित्र आ
May the shining, swift-flowing one, pressed, surround Bharadvāja with his juice; flow through the filter.
तव प्रत्नेभिरध्वभिरव्यो वारे परि प्रियः । सहस्रधारो यात्तना
With your ancient paths, with unbroken coverings, beloved one, flow with a thousand streams.
चरुर्न यस्तमीङ्खयेन्दो न दानमीङ्खय । वधैर्वधस्नवीङ्खय
Like a generous friend, O drop, be generous; like a giver, be generous; with weapons, be generous.
नि शुष्ममिन्दवेषां पुरुहूत जनानाम् । यो अस्माँ आदिदेशति
Cast down the strength of those men, O Indu, much-invoked, who set themselves against us.
शतं न इन्द ऊतिभिः सहस्रं वा शुचीनाम् । पवस्व मंहयद्रयिः
With a hundred aids, O Indu, or with a thousand pure ones, flow forth, bringing abundant wealth.
उत्ते शुष्मासो अस्थू रक्षो भिन्दन्तो अद्रिवः । नुदस्व याः परिस्पृधः
Your powers have arisen, breaking the demon, O stone-pressed one; drive away those who oppose.
अया निजघ्निरोजसा रथसंगे धने हिते । स्तवा अबिभ्युषा हृदा
With this strength, you have struck down in the chariot contest, in the pursuit of wealth; praise with a fearless heart.
अस्य व्रतानि नाधृषे पवमानस्य दूढ्या । रुज यस्त्वा पृतन्यति
No one can withstand the ordinances of the flowing one, the purifier; break the one who contends against you.
तं हिन्वन्ति मदच्युतं हरिं नदीषु वाजिनम् । इन्दुमिन्द्राय मत्सरम्
They urge on that exhilarating, tawny, swift one in the waters—Soma, the spirited draught for Indra.
अस्य प्रत्नामनु द्युतं शुक्रं दुदुह्रे अह्रयः । पयः सहस्रसामृषिम्
The ancient, shining essence of him the unwearied ones have milked forth—brilliant Soma, the thousand-streamed seer.
अयं सूर्य इवोपदृगयं सरांसि धावति । सप्त प्रवत आ दिवम्
He, like the sun, looks on all sides; he runs through the streams, ascending the seven channels to the sky.
अयं विश्वानि तिष्ठति पुनानो भुवनोपरि । सोमो देवो न सूर्यः
He, purified, stands above all worlds—Soma, the god, not the sun.
परि णो देववीतये वाजाँ अर्षसि गोमतः । पुनान इन्दविन्द्रयुः
For our divine aid, you flow around us, O Soma, bringing wealth with cattle, purified, O drop, for Indra.
यवंयवं नो अन्धसा पुष्टम्पुष्टं परि स्रव । सोम विश्वा च सौभगा
Pour forth nourishment for us, Soma, again and again with your juice, and grant us all good fortune.
इन्दो यथा तव स्तवो यथा ते जातमन्धसः । नि बर्हिषि प्रिये सदः
O Indu, as your praise is sung, as your pressed juice is born, settle on the sacred grass, the beloved seat.
उत नो गोविदश्ववित्पवस्व सोमान्धसा । मक्षूतमेभिरहभिः
O Soma, flow for us with your juice, granting cows and horses, most swift with these days.
यो जिनाति न जीयते हन्ति शत्रुमभीत्य । स पवस्व सहस्रजित्
He who conquers and is not conquered, who strikes down the foe without fear—so may you flow, Soma, victorious by thousands.
परि सोम ऋतं बृहदाशुः पवित्रे अर्षति । विघ्नन्रक्षांसि देवयुः
Soma, swift, vast, flows through the filter in accordance with truth, driving away demons, divine in nature.
यत्सोमो वाजमर्षति शतं धारा अपस्युवः । इन्द्रस्य सख्यमाविशन्
When Soma flows for strength, with a hundred streams, unceasing, he enters the friendship of Indra.
