अयं देवेषु जागृविः सुत एति पवित्र आ । सोमो याति विचर्षणिः
This Soma, pressed, vigilant among the gods, comes through the filter, moving among men.
स नः पवस्व वाजयुश्चक्राणश्चारुमध्वरम् । बर्हिष्माँ आ विवासति
So purify yourself for us, bringing prize and creating a lovely sacrifice; he who is rich in offerings invites us.
स नो भगाय वायवे विप्रवीरः सदावृधः । सोमो देवेष्वा यमत्
May that Soma, wise and ever-strengthening, choose for us Bhaga and Vayu among the gods as friends.
स नो अद्य वसुत्तये क्रतुविद्गातुवित्तमः । वाजं जेषि श्रवो बृहत्
May he today, knowing wealth and bestowing wisdom, grant us riches; you win the prize, great fame.
स पवस्व मदाय कं नृचक्षा देववीतये । इन्दविन्द्राय पीतये
So purify yourself for exhilaration, shining for the vision of men, for the favor of the gods, O drop, for Indra to drink.
स नो अर्षाभि दूत्यं त्वमिन्द्राय तोशसे । देवान्सखिभ्य आ वरम्
So flow for us, fulfilling the mission; you delight Indra, choosing the gods as friends, the best among them.
उत त्वामरुणं वयं गोभिरञ्ज्मो मदाय कम् । वि नो राये दुरो वृधि
And you, O reddish one, we adorn with cows for exhilaration; grant us abundant wealth, far-reaching.
अत्यू पवित्रमक्रमीद्वाजी धुरं न यामनि । इन्दुर्देवेषु पत्यते
The prize-seeker has crossed the filter, like a racer at the yoke; Indu is lord among the gods.
समी सखायो अस्वरन्वने क्रीळन्तमत्यविम् । इन्दुं नावा अनूषत
Together the companions have sounded, playing in the wood; they have sought the drop with the vessel.
तया पवस्व धारया यया पीतो विचक्षसे । इन्दो स्तोत्रे सुवीर्यम्
With that stream, by which, when drunk, you become discerning, O drop, purify yourself for praise and heroic power.
असृग्रन्देववीतयेऽत्यासः कृत्व्या इव । क्षरन्तः पर्वतावृधः
They have streamed forth for the divine offering, like skilled deeds, flowing down, swelling with the mountains.
परिष्कृतास इन्दवो योषेव पित्र्यावती । वायुं सोमा असृक्षत
The purified drops of Soma, like a woman with her ancestral line, have flowed toward Vāyu.
एते सोमास इन्दवः प्रयस्वन्तश्चमू सुताः । इन्द्रं वर्धन्ति कर्मभिः
These pressed Soma juices, rich in strength, increase Indra with their actions.
आ धावता सुहस्त्यः शुक्रा गृभ्णीत मन्थिना । गोभिः श्रीणीत मत्सरम्
Come forth, O bright ones with good hands; seize the clear one with the strainer; press out the juice with cows.
स पवस्व धनꣳजय प्रयन्ता राधसो महः । अस्मभ्यꣳ सोम गातुवित्
Flow on, Soma, winner of wealth, bestower of great bounty; be for us, Soma, the guide to the goal.
एतम् मृजन्ति मर्ज्यम् पवमानꣳ दश क्षिपः । इन्द्राय मत्सरम् मदम्
Ten pourers cleanse this purifying Soma, the exhilarating delight, for Indra.
अया सोमः सुकृत्यया महश्चिदभ्यवर्धत । मन्दान उद्वृषायते
This Soma, by right action, has grown even greater; the exhilarating one is stirred to overflow.
कृतानीदस्य कर्त्वा चेतन्ते दस्युतर्हणा । ऋणा च धृष्णुश्चयते
His deeds are now accomplished; he considers the destruction of the foe; the bold one is eager for debts to be paid.
आत्सोम इन्द्रियो रसो वज्रः सहस्रसा भुवत् । उक्थं यदस्य जायते
From Soma comes the powerful essence, the thunderbolt, a thousandfold; for him the hymn is born.
स्वयं कविर्विधर्तरि विप्राय रत्नमिच्छति । यदी मर्मृज्यते धियः
The sage himself, in the act of distribution, seeks the treasure for the inspired one, when thoughts are purified.
सिषासतू रयीणां वाजेष्वर्वतामिव । भरेषु जिग्युषामसि
He desires the riches among the strong, as if among those who possess horses, for those who wish to win in contests.
तं त्वा नृम्णानि बिभ्रतं सधस्थेषु महो दिवः । चारुं सुकृत्ययेमहे
We seek you, bearing manly powers, lovely, by right action, in the gatherings of the great sky.
संवृक्तधृष्णुमुक्थ्यं महामहिव्रतं मदम् । शतं पुरो रुरुक्षणिम्
The one with gathered strength, fit for hymns, with mighty, noble vow, has shattered a hundred fortresses.
अतस्त्वा रयिमभि राजानं सुक्रतो दिवः । सुपर्णो अव्यथिर्भरत्
Therefore, the eagle, unwearied, brings you, the wealth, the king, of good counsel, from heaven.
विश्वस्मा इत्स्वर्दृशे साधारणं रजस्तुरम् । गोपामृतस्य विर्भरत्
For the all-seeing, he bears the common, far-reaching realm, the guardian of the nectar, with strength.
अधा हिन्वान इन्द्रियं ज्यायो महित्वमानशे । अभिष्टिकृद्विचर्षणिः
Then, pouring out strength, he attains greater greatness, the benefactor, renowned among men.
पवस्व वृष्टिमा सु नोऽपामूर्मिं दिवस्परि । अयक्ष्मा बृहतीरिषः
Flow forth, rich in rain, for us; bring the wave of water from the sky, abundant, free from sickness, with great nourishment.
तया पवस्व धारया यया गाव इहागमन् । जन्यास उप नो गृहम्
With that stream, flow forth, by which the cows have come here, the offspring to our home.
घृतं पवस्व धारया यज्ञेषु देववीतमः । अस्मभ्यं वृष्टिमा पव
Flow clarified butter with your stream in the sacrifices, best supporter of the gods; flow for us, rich in rain.
स न ऊर्जे व्यव्ययं पवित्रं धाव धारया । देवासः शृणवन्हि कम्
With your stream, cleanse for us the nourishing, unfailing filter; let the gods hear our desire.
