वृषाणं वृषभिर्यतं सुन्वन्ति सोममद्रिभिः । दुहन्ति शक्मना पयः
The bulls, yoked with the bull, press Soma with stones; by their power they draw forth the milk.
भुवत्त्रितस्य मर्ज्यो भुवदिन्द्राय मत्सरः । सं रूपैरज्यते हरिः
He becomes the delight of Trita, he becomes the exhilaration for Indra; the tawny one is adorned with forms.
अभीमृतस्य विष्टपं दुहते पृश्निमातरः । चारु प्रियतमं हविः
The mothers of Prishni draw out the summit of the immortal; the lovely, most beloved offering.
समेनमह्रुता इमा गिरो अर्षन्ति सस्रुतः । धेनूर्वाश्रो अवीवशत्
With one mind, these unceasing songs flow toward him; the cows, eager, have lowed.
आ नः पवस्व धारया पवमान रयिं पृथुम् । यया ज्योतिर्विदासि नः
Purifier, flow to us with the filter, bringing wide wealth, by which you reveal light for us.
इन्दो समुद्रमीङ्खय पवस्व विश्वमेजय । रायो धर्ता न ओजसा
O Indu, swell toward the ocean, flow, stirring all; as the supporter of wealth for us with your strength.
त्वया वीरेण वीरवोऽभि ष्याम पृतन्यतः । क्षरा णो अभि वार्यम्
With you, hero, may we, heroes, overcome our foes in battle; let desirable riches flow to us.
प्र वाजमिन्दुरिष्यति सिषासन्वाजसा ऋषिः । व्रता विदान आयुधा
The Soma, desiring strength, will seek the prize; the sage, knowing the ordinances, the weapons.
तं गीर्भिर्वाचमीङ्खयं पुनानं वासयामसि । सोमं जनस्य गोपतिम्
With songs we send forth the purified, swelling Soma, the lord of the people.
विश्वो यस्य व्रते जनो दाधार धर्मणस्पतेः । पुनानस्य प्रभूवसोः
All people have placed their trust in the ordinance of the Lord of Order, in the purified, mighty one.
असर्जि रथ्यो यथा पवित्रे चम्वोः सुतः । कार्ष्मन्वाजी न्यक्रमीत्
He has been sent forth like a charioteer, the Soma pressed in the vessel; the swift one has stepped onto the path.
स वह्निः सोम जागृविः पवस्व देववीरति । अभि कोशं मधुश्चुतम्
That Soma, the awakened fire, flow with divine vigor toward the vessel filled with sweetness.
स नो ज्योतींषि पूर्व्य पवमान वि रोचय । क्रत्वे दक्षाय नो हिनु
Purifier, shine forth for us the ancient lights; grant us intelligence and skill.
शुम्भमान ऋतायुभिर्मृज्यमानो गभस्त्योः । पवते वारे अव्यये
Being purified by the hands of those who live by truth, being cleansed in the hands, he flows in the unaging vessel.
स विश्वा दाशुषे वसु सोमो दिव्यानि पार्थिवा । पवतामान्तरिक्ष्या
May Soma, for the worshipper, purify all treasures, heavenly, earthly, and those in the midspace.
आ दिवस्पृष्ठमश्वयुर्गव्ययुः सोम रोहसि । वीरयुः शवसस्पते
Soma, horse-born, cow-seeking, ascend to the summit of heaven, giver of heroism, lord of might.
स सुतः पीतये वृषा सोमः पवित्रे अर्षति । विघ्नन्रक्षांसि देवयुः
That pressed, mighty Soma flows through the filter for drinking, the godly one driving away the Rakshasas.
स पवित्रे विचक्षणो हरिरर्षति धर्णसिः । अभि योनिं कनिक्रदत्
He, discerning in the filter, the tawny one, the powerful, rushes forth, bellowing toward his womb.
स वाजी रोचना दिवः पवमानो वि धावति । रक्षोहा वारमव्ययम्
That vigorous one, purified, runs across the shining realms of heaven, the slayer of demons, to the unfailing shelter.
स त्रितस्याधि सानवि पवमानो अरोचयत् । जामिभिः सूर्यं सह
That purified one, on Trita's summit, has shone forth together with his kindred and the Sun.
स वृत्रहा वृषा सुतो वरिवोविददाभ्यः । सोमो वाजमिवासरत्
That bull, the pressed Soma, the slayer of Vritra, has granted wide space to the worshippers, rushing like a steed to strength.
स देवः कविनेषितोऽभि द्रोणानि धावति । इन्दुरिन्द्राय मंहना
That god, impelled by the sage, runs to the vessels, the drop, with greatness, for Indra.
एष उ स्य वृषा रथोऽव्यो वारेभिरर्षति । गच्छन्वाजं सहस्रिणम्
This bull, indeed, the chariot, unwearying, flows with protections, going to the thousandfold prize.
एतं त्रितस्य योषणो हरिं हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिः । इन्दुमिन्द्राय पीतये
This tawny one, the maiden of Trita, presses with stones, the drop for Indra to drink.
एतं त्यं हरितो दश मर्मृज्यन्ते अपस्युवः । याभिर्मदाय शुम्भते
These ten bright fingers cleanse this tawny one, with which they adorn him for exhilaration.
एष स्य मानुषीष्वा श्येनो न विक्षु सीदति । गच्छञ्जारो न योषितम्
This one, among men, sits like an eagle in the gatherings, advancing like a lover to his beloved.
एष स्य मद्यो रसोऽव चष्टे दिवः शिशुः । य इन्दुर्वारमाविशत्
This exhilarating juice, the child of heaven, reveals itself, the drop that has entered the shelter.
एष स्य पीतये सुतो हरिरर्षति धर्णसिः । क्रन्दन्योनिमभि प्रियम्
This pressed, tawny one, for drinking, rushes forth, the powerful, crying out toward the beloved womb.
आशुरर्ष बृहन्मते परि प्रियेण धाम्ना । यत्र देवा इति ब्रवन्
Rush forth, inspired one of lofty mind, with dear radiance, to where the gods say, 'He has come.'
परिष्कृण्वन्ननिष्कृतं जनाय यातयन्निषः । वृष्टिं दिवः परि स्रव
Cleansing what is uncleansed, guiding the people, driving away darkness, pour down the rain of heaven.
