आस्मिन्पिशङ्गमिन्दवो दधाता वेनमादिशे । यो अस्मभ्यमरावा
On this bright one, the drops place the mark for the singer, he who is our helper.
ऋभुर्न रथ्यं नवं दधाता केतमादिशे । शुक्राः पवध्वमर्णसा
Like the Rbhus placing a new chariot, they set the sign for the singer; bright, they are purified without stain.
एत उ त्ये अवीवशन्काष्ठां वाजिनो अक्रत । सतः प्रासाविषुर्मतिम्
These indeed have awakened, they have made the goal, the strong ones have produced insight for the one who exists.
एते सोमास आशवो रथा इव प्र वाजिनः । सर्गाः सृष्टा अहेषत
These energetic Somas, like chariots, rush forth to the prize; the streams, released, have hastened on.
एते वाता इवोरवः पर्जन्यस्येव वृष्टयः । अग्नेरिव भ्रमा वृथा
These, like winds, resound, like the rains of Parjanya, like the whirls of Agni, they move freely.
एते पूता विपश्चितः सोमासो दध्याशिरः । विपा व्यानशुर्धियः
These purified, wise Somas, bearing the head of Dadhya, have spread their thoughts far and wide.
एते मृष्टा अमर्त्याः ससृवांसो न शश्रमुः । इयक्षन्तः पथो रजः
These purified, immortal ones, having been created, did not grow weary; desiring, they traversed the paths of the atmosphere.
एते पृष्ठानि रोदसोर्विप्रयन्तो व्यानशुः । उतेदमुत्तमं रजः
These, moving apart, have spread the backs of the two worlds; indeed, this is the highest region.
तन्तुं तन्वानमुत्तममनु प्रवत आशत । उतेदमुत्तमाय्यम्
Weaving the highest thread, they have sought the way forward; indeed, this is the highest attainment.
त्वं सोम पणिभ्य आ वसु गव्यानि धारयः । ततं तन्तुमचिक्रदः
You, Soma, bring forth wealth from the merchants, cattle; you have stretched the thread and made it resound.
सोमा असृग्रमाशवो मधोर्मदस्य धारया । अभि विश्वानि काव्या
The Somas have flowed forth, eager, with the strength of honey and exhilaration, encompassing all sacred works.
अनु प्रत्नास आयवः पदं नवीयो अक्रमुः । रुचे जनन्त सूर्यम्
The ancient streams have followed a newer path; by their radiance, they have produced the sun.
आ पवमान नो भरार्यो अदाशुषो गयम् । कृधि प्रजावतीरिषः
O Purifying One, bring us, the generous, undaunted, to life; grant us offspring and nourishment.
अभि सोमास आयवः पवन्ते मद्यं मदम् । अभि कोशं मधुश्चुतम्
The Somas, the streams, are purified, flowing with intoxicating delight; they fill the vessel with honeyed sweetness.
सोमो अर्षति धर्णसिर्दधान इन्द्रियं रसम् । सुवीरो अभिशस्तिपाः
Soma flows, sustaining strength and essence; the mighty one, protector against malediction.
इन्द्राय सोम पवसे देवेभ्यः सधमाद्यः । इन्दो वाजं सिषाससि
Soma, you are purified for Indra, for the gods, as a companion at the feast; O Indu, you seek the prize.
अस्य पीत्वा मदानामिन्द्रो वृत्राण्यप्रति । जघान जघनच्च नु
Having drunk of his exhilarations, Indra, unconquered, struck down the foes, and indeed struck them again.
प्र सोमासो अधन्विषुः पवमानास इन्दवः । श्रीणाना अप्सु मृञ्जत
The Somas have flowed forth on the courses, the purifying Indus streams; they cleanse the shining ones in the waters.
अभि गावो अधन्विषुरापो न प्रवता यतीः । पुनाना इन्द्रमाशत
The cows have flowed forth on the courses, like rivers moving along; the purified ones have sought Indra.
प्र पवमान धन्वसि सोमेन्द्राय पातवे । नृभिर्यतो वि नीयसे
O Purifying One, you flow on the course, Soma, for Indra to drink; you are led forth by men.
त्वं सोम नृमादनः पवस्व चर्षणीसहे । सस्निर्यो अनुमाद्यः
You, Soma, delighting men, flow for the support of the tribes; you are enduring, worthy of praise.
इन्दो यदद्रिभिः सुतः पवित्रं परिधावसि । अरमिन्द्रस्य धाम्ने
O Indu, when pressed with stones, you run through the filter; you are fit for Indra's abode.
पवस्व वृत्रहन्तमोक्थेभिरनुमाद्यः । शुचिः पावको अद्भुतः
Flow, slayer of Vṛtra, with hymns, worthy of praise; pure, radiant, wondrous.
शुचिः पावक उच्यते सोमः सुतस्य मध्वः । देवावीरघशंसहा
Pure, radiant, is called Soma, the pressed honey; godly, heroic, destroyer of evil speech.
पवस्व दक्षसाधनो देवेभ्यः पीतये हरे । मरुद्भ्यो वायवे मदः
Flow forth, O tawny one, accomplishing skill, for the drinking of the gods; the exhilaration is for the Maruts and for Vayu.
पवमान धिया हितोऽभि योनिं कनिक्रदत् । धर्मणा वायुमा विश
O Pavamana, set in motion by thought, roaring, enter your womb; by your law, enter into Vayu.
सं देवैः शोभते वृषा कविर्योनावधि प्रियः । वृत्रहा देववीतमः
With the gods, the mighty poet shines, beloved in his womb; the slayer of Vritra, most worthy of the gods.
विश्वा रूपाण्याविशन्पुनानो याति हर्यतः । यत्रामृतास आसते
He, purified, enters all forms, moving with delight to where the immortals are seated.
अरुषो जनयन्गिरः सोमः पवत आयुषक् । इन्द्रं गच्छन्कविक्रतुः
The ruddy Soma, generating songs, flows for long life, the wise one going to Indra.
आ पवस्व मदिन्तम पवित्रं धारया कवे । अर्कस्य योनिमासदम्
Flow forth, most exhilarating, O sage, through the filter; you have sat in the womb of the hymn.
