परि यो रोदसी उभे सद्यो वाजेभिरर्षति । मदेषु सर्वधा असि
He who swiftly moves around both earth and heaven with prizes; you are present in all delights.
स शुष्मी कलशेष्वा पुनानो अचिक्रदत् । मदेषु सर्वधा असि
He, powerful, purified in the vessels, has cried aloud; you are present in all delights.
यत्सोम चित्रमुक्थ्यं दिव्यं पार्थिवं वसु । तन्नः पुनान आ भर
O Soma, whatever splendid hymn, divine or earthly wealth, bring that to us, purified.
युवं हि स्थः स्वर्पती इन्द्रश्च सोम गोपती । ईशाना पिप्यतं धियः
For you two are lords of light, Indra and Soma, guardians of cattle; as masters, nourish our thoughts.
वृषा पुनान आयुषु स्तनयन्नधि बर्हिषि । हरिः सन्योनिमासदत्
The bull, purified, thundering in life, has settled upon the grass; the tawny one has approached his dwelling.
अवावशन्त धीतयो वृषभस्याधि रेतसि । सूनोर्वत्सस्य मातरः
The thoughts have stirred in the seed of the bull, mothers of the calf, the son.
कुविद्वृषण्यन्तीभ्यः पुनानो गर्भमादधत् । याः शुक्रं दुहते पयः
Perhaps the purified one places the embryo in the fertile ones, those who milk the bright milk.
उप शिक्षापतस्थुषो भियसमा धेहि शत्रुषु । पवमान विदा रयिम्
Approach, O learned ones, standing firm; place fear among the enemies; O purified one, grant us wealth.
नि शत्रोः सोम वृष्ण्यं नि शुष्मं नि वयस्तिर । दूरे वा सतो अन्ति वा
O Soma, cast down the strength, the vigor, and the vitality of the enemy, whether he be far or near.
प्र कविर्देववीतयेऽव्यो वारेभिरर्षति । साह्वान्विश्वा अभि स्पृधः
The inspired sage, for the favor of the gods, flows forth unimpeded with his streams, confronting all rivals.
स हि ष्मा जरितृभ्य आ वाजं गोमन्तमिन्वति । पवमानः सहस्रिणम्
For he indeed brings to the singers wealth abounding in cattle, O Purifying One, a thousandfold prize.
परि विश्वानि चेतसा मृशसे पवसे मती । स नः सोम श्रवो विदः
With your mind you examine all things as you are purified; grant us, Soma, renown.
अभ्यर्ष बृहद्यशो मघवद्भ्यो ध्रुवं रयिम् । इषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर
Flow forth with great glory, bring steadfast wealth to the generous, and bestow nourishment upon the singers.
त्वं राजेव सुव्रतो गिरः सोमा विवेशिथ । पुनानो वह्ने अद्भुत
You, Soma, of good resolve, enter the songs like a king; O Purifying One, wondrous fire.
स वह्निरप्सु दुष्टरो मृज्यमानो गभस्त्योः । सोमश्चमूषु सीदति
That fire, Soma, hard to overcome in the waters, being cleansed between the hands, settles in the vessels.
क्रीळुर्मखो न मंहयुः पवित्रं सोम गच्छसि । दधत्स्तोत्रे सुवीर्यम्
Playful, like a festive one who delights, you, Soma, reach the filter, granting heroic strength to the hymn.
एते धावन्तीन्दवः सोमा इन्द्राय घृष्वयः । मत्सरासः स्वर्विदः
These swift drops, the Somas, eager for Indra, full of zest, knowing the light, run forth.
प्रवृण्वन्तो अभियुजः सुष्वये वरिवोविदः । स्वयं स्तोत्रे वयस्कृतः
Choosing their own, overcoming adversaries, knowing the path to rest, they themselves create vigor for the hymn.
वृथा क्रीळन्त इन्दवः सधस्थमभ्येकमित् । सिन्धोरूर्मा व्यक्षरन्
In vain the drops play, coming together on the seat; they have poured out waves from the river.
एते विश्वानि वार्या पवमानास आशत । हिता न सप्तयो रथे
These purifying ones have sought all desirable things, like well-yoked horses on a chariot.
आस्मिन्पिशङ्गमिन्दवो दधाता वेनमादिशे । यो अस्मभ्यमरावा
On this bright one, the drops place the mark for the singer, he who is our helper.
ऋभुर्न रथ्यं नवं दधाता केतमादिशे । शुक्राः पवध्वमर्णसा
Like the Rbhus placing a new chariot, they set the sign for the singer; bright, they are purified without stain.
एत उ त्ये अवीवशन्काष्ठां वाजिनो अक्रत । सतः प्रासाविषुर्मतिम्
These indeed have awakened, they have made the goal, the strong ones have produced insight for the one who exists.
एते सोमास आशवो रथा इव प्र वाजिनः । सर्गाः सृष्टा अहेषत
These energetic Somas, like chariots, rush forth to the prize; the streams, released, have hastened on.
एते वाता इवोरवः पर्जन्यस्येव वृष्टयः । अग्नेरिव भ्रमा वृथा
These, like winds, resound, like the rains of Parjanya, like the whirls of Agni, they move freely.
एते पूता विपश्चितः सोमासो दध्याशिरः । विपा व्यानशुर्धियः
These purified, wise Somas, bearing the head of Dadhya, have spread their thoughts far and wide.
एते मृष्टा अमर्त्याः ससृवांसो न शश्रमुः । इयक्षन्तः पथो रजः
These purified, immortal ones, having been created, did not grow weary; desiring, they traversed the paths of the atmosphere.
एते पृष्ठानि रोदसोर्विप्रयन्तो व्यानशुः । उतेदमुत्तमं रजः
These, moving apart, have spread the backs of the two worlds; indeed, this is the highest region.
तन्तुं तन्वानमुत्तममनु प्रवत आशत । उतेदमुत्तमाय्यम्
Weaving the highest thread, they have sought the way forward; indeed, this is the highest attainment.
त्वं सोम पणिभ्य आ वसु गव्यानि धारयः । ततं तन्तुमचिक्रदः
You, Soma, bring forth wealth from the merchants, cattle; you have stretched the thread and made it resound.
