प्रिया पदानि पश्वो नि पाहि विश्वायुरग्ने गुहा गुहं गाः
Protect the beloved paths of the cattle, Agni; you, eternal, conceal the cows in secret.
य ईं चिकेत गुहा भवन्तमा यः ससाद धारामृतस्य
Whoever perceives him dwelling in secret, whoever sits at the stream of immortality.
वि ये चृतन्त्यृता सपन्त आदिद्वसूनि प्र ववाचास्मै
Those who move apart, seeking truth, then speak forth the treasures to him.
वि यो वीरुत्सु रोधन्महित्वोत प्रजा उत प्रसूष्वन्तः
He who divides among heroes the great abundance, and among offspring and progeny.
चित्तिरपां दमे विश्वायुः सद्मेव धीराः सम्माय चक्रुः
The wise, possessing all life, have fashioned a wondrous abode of the waters, like a house, with understanding.
श्रीणन्नुप स्थाद्दिवं भुरण्यु स्थातुश्चरथमक्तून्व्यूर्णोत्
Hearing, he approached the sky with brightness; he covered the chariot of the standing one with rays.
परि यदेषामेको विश्वेषां भुवद्देवो देवानां महित्वा
When among these, one became the god of all gods, encompassing the greatness of the deities.
आदित्ते विश्वे क्रतुं जुषन्त शुष्काद्यद्देव जीवो जनिष्ठाः
From then, all accepted his resolve; when, O god, you were born alive from the dry.
भजन्त विश्वे देवत्वं नाम ऋतं सपन्तो अमृतमेवैः
All share in the divine nature, seeking the truth, attaining the immortal by their own paths.
ऋतस्य प्रेषा ऋतस्य धीतिर्विश्वायुर्विश्वे अपांसि चक्रुः
Messengers of truth, the thought of truth, possessing all life, they have fashioned all the waters.
यस्तुभ्यं दाशाद्यो वा ते शिक्षात्तस्मै चिकित्वान्रयिं दयस्व
To whoever serves you, or to whom you teach, to him, O wise one, grant wealth.
होता निषत्तो मनोरपत्ये स चिन्न्वासां पती रयीणाम्
The Hotar, seated in the offspring of Manu, he indeed is the lord of dwellings, of riches.
इच्छन्त रेतो मिथस्तनूषु सं जानत स्वैर्दक्षैरमूराः
Desiring seed in their bodies, they come together, knowing, with their own powers, not lacking wisdom.
पितुर्न पुत्राः क्रतुं जुषन्त श्रोषन्ये अस्य शासं तुरासः
The sons accept the resolve of the father; eager to hear, they swiftly obey his command.
वि राय और्णोद्दुरः पुरुक्षुः पिपेश नाकं स्तृभिर्दमूनाः
He, the generous, has spread wide the wealth for the many; the householder has adorned the heaven with supports.
शुक्रः शुशुक्वाँ उषो न जारः पप्रा समीची दिवो न ज्योतिः
Bright, shining forth, like the lover of dawn, he has reached, aligned, like the light of heaven.
परि प्रजातः क्रत्वा बभूथ भुवो देवानां पिता पुत्रः सन्
Born around, you have become by will; you are the father and son of the gods.
वेधा अदृप्तो अग्निर्विजानन्नूधर्न गोनां स्वाद्मा पितूनाम्
The wise, unsated Agni, knowing, has drawn forth the udder of cows, the sweet drink of the fathers.
जने न शेव आहूर्यः सन्मध्ये निषत्तो रण्वो दुरोणे
Like one to be invoked among people, delightful, seated in the midst, charming in the house.
पुत्रो न जातो रण्वो दुरोणे वाजी न प्रीतो विशो वि तारीत्
Like a son born, delightful in the house, like a pleased steed, he brings the people across.
विशो यदह्वे नृभिः सनीळा अग्निर्देवत्वा विश्वान्यश्याः
When he calls the peoples with men gathered, Agni, in his divinity, would embrace all.
नकिष्ट एता व्रता मिनन्ति नृभ्यो यदेभ्यः श्रुष्टिं चकर्थ
No one violates these laws; when you made hearing for these men.
तत्तु ते दंसो यदहन्समानैर्नृभिर्यद्युक्तो विवे रपांसि
That is your power, when, harnessed with men, you have destroyed obstacles.
उषो न जारो विभावोस्रः संज्ञातरूपश्चिकेतदस्मै
Like a lover at dawn, radiant and bright, you reveal your known form to him.
त्मना वहन्तो दुरो व्यृण्वन्नवन्त विश्वे स्वर्दृशीके
Carrying by your own strength, you remove what is far, and all the shining ones approach.
वनेम पूर्वीरर्यो मनीषा अग्निः सुशोको विश्वान्यश्याः
May we attain, with ancient wisdom, O Agni, your bright flame that fulfills all desires.
आ दैव्यानि व्रता चिकित्वाना मानुषस्य जनस्य जन्म
He, wise, knows the divine laws and the birth of the human race.
गर्भो यो अपां गर्भो वनानां गर्भश्च स्थातां गर्भश्चरथाम्
He is the embryo of waters, the embryo of forests, the embryo of those who stand and those who move.
अद्रौ चिदस्मा अन्तर्दुरोणे विशां न विश्वो अमृतः स्वाधीः
Even within the stones, in the hidden chamber, like the immortal, he is self-sustaining among the people.
स हि क्षपावाँ अग्नी रयीणां दाशद्यो अस्मा अरं सूक्तैः
For he, Agni, is the guardian of riches by night, worthy of worship, bringing us benefit with hymns.
