स दृळ्हे चिदभि तृणत्ति वाजमर्वता स धत्ते अक्षिति श्रवः । त्वे देवत्रा सदा पुरूवसो विश्वा वामानि धीमहि
He overcomes even the stronghold, he wins the prize with his steed; he attains unfailing fame. In you, O ever-youthful god, we always seek all desirable things.
यो विश्वा दयते वसु होता मन्द्रो जनानाम् । मधोर्न पात्रा प्रथमान्यस्मै प्र स्तोमा यन्त्यग्नये
He who gives all treasures, the delightful priest of the people—his are the first vessels of honey. To him, to Agni, our praises go.
अश्वं न गीर्भी रथ्यं सुदानवो मर्मृज्यन्ते देवयवः । उभे तोके तनये दस्म विश्पते पर्षि राधो मघोनाम्
Like horses yoked to the chariot, the generous, godly youths are stirred by songs. O mighty lord of all, grant both offspring and descendants, and bestow the wealth of the generous.
प्र मंहिष्ठाय गायत ऋताव्ने बृहते शुक्रशोचिषे । उपस्तुतासो अग्नये
Sing to the most exalted, the great, the upholder of order, the radiant-shining one—offer praises to Agni.
आ वंसते मघवा वीरवद्यशः समिद्धो द्युम्न्याहुतः । कुविन्नो अस्य सुमतिर्नवीयस्यच्छा वाजेभिरागमत्
The generous one, famed for heroes, comes eagerly, kindled, invoked with splendor. May his newest favor come to us with riches.
प्रेष्ठमु प्रियाणां स्तुह्यासावातिथिम् । अग्निं रथानां यमम्
Praise the dearest, most beloved guest—Agni, the guide of chariots.
उदिता यो निदिता वेदिता वस्वा यज्ञियो ववर्तति । दुष्टरा यस्य प्रवणे नोर्मयो धिया वाजं सिषासतः
He who rises, who is set, who knows the wealth, who is worthy of sacrifice, moves forth. The paths of him who seeks the prize with wisdom are not hard to cross.
मा नो हृणीतामतिथिर्वसुरग्निः पुरुप्रशस्त एषः । यः सुहोता स्वध्वरः
Let not Agni, the guest, the generous, the much-praised, take away from us—he who is a good priest, who performs proper rites.
मो ते रिषन्ये अच्छोक्तिभिर्वसोऽग्ने केभिश्चिदेवैः । कीरिश्चिद्धि त्वामीट्टे दूत्याय रातहव्यः स्वध्वरः
Let no harm come to you, O Agni, from our true words, O generous one, not even from other gods. Even a poor man seeks you as messenger, you who are invoked, who perform proper rites.
आग्ने याहि मरुत्सखा रुद्रेभिः सोमपीतये । सोभर्या उप सुष्टुतिं मादयस्व स्वर्णरे
Agni, come with the Maruts, with the Rudras, to drink Soma. Rejoice in our good praise, O bringer of light, together with your household.
स्वादि॑ष्ठया॒ मदि॑ष्ठया॒ पव॑स्व सोम॒ धार॑या । इन्द्रा॑य॒ पात॑वे सु॒तः
Flow, Soma, with most pleasant and most exhilarating stream, pressed for Indra to drink.
र॒क्षो॒हा वि॒श्वच॑र्षणिर॒भि योनि॒मयो॑हतम्! द्रुणा॑ सधस्थमासदत्
Destroyer of demons, all-pervading among men, you have reached your place of origin! You have sat in the vessel of wood.
वरिवोधातमो भव मंहिष्ठो वृत्रहन्तमः । पर्षि राधो मघोनाम्
Become the most spacious, the most mighty, the slayer of Vṛtra; grant the wealth of the generous.
अभ्यर्ष महानां देवानां वीतिमन्धसा । अभि वाजमुत श्रवः
Flow forth to the assembly of the great gods, O exhilarating one; bring us both strength and fame.
त्वामच्छा चरामसि तदिदर्थं दिवेदिवे । इन्दो त्वे न आशसः
To you we come, O Indu, for that purpose, day after day; in you are our hopes.
पुनाति ते परिस्रुतं सोमं सूर्यस्य दुहिता । वारेण शश्वता तना
The daughter of the sun purifies your flowing Soma with her constant garment.
तमीमण्वीः समर्य आ गृभ्णन्ति योषणो दश । स्वसारः पार्ये दिवि
Ten maidens, like sisters, grasp him together in the distant sky.
तमीं हिन्वन्त्यग्रुवो धमन्ति बाकुरं दृतिम् । त्रिधातु वारणं मधु
The unbending ones press him, they blow forth the sweet strength, the triple-layered, honeyed draught.
अभीममघ्न्या उत श्रीणन्ति धेनवः शिशुम् । सोममिन्द्राय पातवे
The unyoked cows strain him, the calf, for Indra to drink, Soma.
अस्येदिन्द्रो मदेष्वा विश्वा वृत्राणि जिघ्नते । शूरो मघा च मंहते
In his exhilaration, Indra slays all the foes; the hero rejoices in the gifts.
पवस्व देववीरति पवित्रं सोम रंह्या । इन्द्रमिन्दो वृषा विश
Flow on, Soma, with divine power, through the filter, O delightful one; come, O bull, into Indra's company.
आ वच्यस्व महि प्सरो वृषेन्दो द्युम्नवत्तमः । आ योनिं धर्णसिः सदः
Pour forth, O mighty, most glorious bull Soma, your great stream; enter your eternal abode.
अधुक्षत प्रियं मधु धारा सुतस्य वेधसः । अपो वसिष्ट सुक्रतुः
The streams of the pressed, inspired Soma have milked the beloved honey; O wise one, you have pervaded the waters.
महान्तं त्वा महीरन्वापो अर्षन्ति सिन्धवः । यद्गोभिर्वासयिष्यसे
The great rivers follow after you, the mighty one, when you are clothed with cows.
समुद्रो अप्सु मामृजे विष्टम्भो धरुणो दिवः । सोमः पवित्रे अस्मयुः
The ocean has cleansed itself in the waters, the pillar and support of the sky; Soma, purified in the filter, is eager.
अचिक्रदद्वृषा हरिर्महान्मित्रो न दर्शतः । सं सूर्येण रोचते
The mighty, tawny one has roared, vast and unseen like Mitra; he shines together with the sun.
गिरस्त इन्द ओजसा मर्मृज्यन्ते अपस्युवः । याभिर्मदाय शुम्भसे
The songs, O Indu, are cleansed by your power, O unseen one, with which you adorn yourself for exhilaration.
तं त्वा मदाय घृष्वय उ लोककृत्नुमीमहे । तव प्रशस्तयो महीः
For your exhilaration, we seek you, the swift one, the creator of worlds; your praises are great.
अस्मभ्यमिन्दविन्द्रयुर्मध्वः पवस्व धारया । पर्जन्यो वृष्टिमाँ इव
For us, O Indu, pour out the honeyed draught for Indra with your stream, like a rain-filled cloud.
गोषा इन्दो नृषा अस्यश्वसा वाजसा उत । आत्मा यज्ञस्य पूर्व्यः
O Indu, you are rich in cows, rich in men, rich in horses, rich in strength; you are the ancient soul of the sacrifice.
