And that hero, rich in wealth and eager for battle, even though distant, we call for help—whose most pleasant favor is like that of a father. Do not, in your friendship, abandon us.
By truth, the god Savitar brings peace; the peak of truth spreads wide across the earth. Truth has conquered, even in great conflict. Do not, in your friendship, abandon us.
Glorious is your praise, Ashvins, like a swift horse; come forth. For the drinking of the honeyed, pressed Soma, O noble ones, protect the cow for the seeker.

Now come, Ashvins, with your horses, with those that sprinkle water. O wondrous ones, with golden wheels, lords of beauty, drink the Soma, you who grow by truth.
We call upon you, Ashvins, with inspired words, O wise ones, for the gaining of strength. You, delightful and wondrous, of many deeds, come with wisdom, Ashvins, at our call.
That wondrous, immortal, joy-bringing one of yours, the delight of the invigorating drink, we praise with songs, as cows call to their calf in the stalls—Indra.
We seek the radiant, generous one, surrounded by power, like a mountain rich in gifts; abundant in strength, swift, thousand-fold, quickly bringing cattle.
No mighty stones, O Indra, can restrain you, nor can the weak. When you grant wealth to the one who praises and desires, no one can diminish your gift.
You are a fighter by will, mighty in strength and deeds, surpassing all beings by your power. This hymn turns to you for help, whom the Gotamas have begotten.
You have rushed forth with power from the edges of heaven. No earthly realm, O Indra, has hindered you; you have embraced your own nature.
No boundary, O generous one, limits your bounty; when you favor the worshipper, you delight. Be our awakener, O Indra, for the highest gain of strength.

Indra, destroyer of curses and dispeller of reproach, became glorious; O Indra, the gods, shining brightly, have chosen you, O Maruts, for friendship.
Offer praise to mighty Indra, O Maruts, with hymns; the slayer of Vṛtra, endowed with a hundred powers, strikes down Vṛtra with his hundred-jointed thunderbolt.
Bring forth your bold, resolute mind, let great fame dwell in your heart; the swift waters rush for you, O Indra, as mothers—strike down Vṛtra, win the heavens.
When you were born, O generous one, for the slaying of Vṛtra, you made the earth vast and supported the sky as well.
Then your sacrifice was born, then the hymn and the ritual act; you surpass all that exists, whatever has come into being and whatever is yet to be.
Bring forth the cooked offering among them, raise the sun in the sky; like heat at the border of the song, may the great, well-praised gift be pleasing to the song-loving god.
May Indra, the slayer of Vṛtra, adorn our offerings in every assembly; let him approach the hymns and libations, supreme in might, eager for praise.
