Let not the barrier restrain us; may the great one choose us for favor. Indeed, Indra is famed and powerful.
Let not the malice of enemies, nor the snares of the wicked, reach us; O gods, protect us thoroughly.
And to you, O Aditi, great goddess, I address my prayer for graciousness and blessing.
Lead us out from misery, from deep distress, from those who wish to harm the fierce-born; let not harm come to our offspring.
Like a path without obstacles, with wide space for moving forth, make it so for our children, for life.
Those who are the heads of peoples, faultless and self-glorious, who keep the vows and are not deceitful.
Those Ādityas release us from the bonds of the wolves, as Aditi releases the thief who is bound.

May this sharp pain, O Ādityas, and evil intention be washed away from us, and the one who attacks us depart.

For always, O generous Ādityas, with your aids, we have been protected in the past and now indeed.

For ever, O wise ones, even against recurring sin, you gods act for our living.

That new release, O Ādityas, which you grant—like a bound one freed from bondage—may it be ours.

We have no power there, O Ādityas, to overstep; be gracious to us.
Let not the weapon of Vivasvat, O Ādityas, nor the artificial arrow, strike us down before old age.
Dispel, O Ādityas, all hatred, all hostility, all enmity, and every great sin in every direction.
To you we turn the chariot, as to a friend, for favor—Indra, most mighty, lord of the good, of strong frame and victorious might.
Of great heat, of mighty deeds, endowed with power, by your universal wisdom you have spread forth in greatness.

By whose greatness, O mighty one, the two hands, bearing the golden thunderbolt, encircle the world.
Of Viśvānar, lord of wealth, unbowed in strength—of him and of the protectors of the people, I call the aid, the chariots.
For prosperity, ever-growing, praised in songs, whom men invoke with various prayers for help.
Surpassing measure, most powerful, Indra, fierce, bestower of riches, even the lord of treasures.
That Indra, mighty for aid, I urge to drink, who is master of ancient praise, leader of peoples.
No mortal, O powerful one, can attain your friendship by strength; none can surpass your powers.
By your help, yoked with you, in water, in sunlight, in great wealth, may we win battles, O wielder of the thunderbolt.
You we invoke with sacrifices, you with songs, O lover of hymns, Indra, as you have always aided in contests with abundant help.
Sweet is your friendship, sweet your guidance, O stone-armed one; the sacrifice is spread for you to enjoy.
Make wide space for us, for our bodies, make wide room for our dwelling, make wide space for our living.
Wide for men, wide for cattle, wide for the chariot, may we find the path of the gods.
Come to me, O men, with the joy of Soma; let the sweet gifts stand ready.
With straight reins, O Indra, I have yoked the two bay steeds to the son of Ṛkṣa, the red ones of the horse-sacrifice.
Splendid are they, O Ātithigva, with their own whips, shining at the horse-sacrifice, beautifully adorned.
