A hundred reeds, a hundred dogs, a hundred worn-out hides, a hundred tufts of wool, and four hundred reddish ones.
The Kanva descendants are blessed, wandering from youth to youth. The horses do not tire.
From the seven, they praised the fame of the abundant one. The dark ones, with dust-covered paths, are not lost even by sight.
Against the enemy, O wolf, your wealth appeared, undiminished. Like the vast strength of the sky.
Ten thousand, O Pūtakratu, for me; ten thousand, O wolf, for the enemy. The perpetual riches are unharmed.
A hundred of my asses, a hundred of those with wool, a hundred slaves, and many garlands.
There, indeed, it was breathed for Pūtakratu, clearly. Among the horses, in the herd.
Agni, the wise, the quick, the carrier of offerings, is well yoked to the chariot. Agni, with pure flame, shone brightly; the great sun shone in the sky, the sun shone.
You gods, yoked with ancient resolve and strength, come with your swift chariot, worthy of worship. Come, Nasatyas, with your powers; drink at this third pressing.
You gods, three and eleven, true ones, have appeared before the truth. Accept our sacrifice and pressing, Ashvins; drink the Soma, shining ones.
That which is to be praised, Ashvins, you have done; the bull of heaven, of the realms of earth. A thousand praises, and those who seek the cow, all of them come here to drink.
This portion is set for you, O worshipful ones; these songs, Nasatyas, come near. Drink the honeyed Soma for us; grant us gifts with your powers.
The priests, mindful, prepare this sacrifice in many ways and carry it. The learned Brahman, who was yoked, knows what belongs to the sacrificer there.
Agni alone is kindled in many ways; the sun alone spreads everywhere. Ushas alone shines over all this; indeed, all this has arisen from the one.
I call upon that radiant, bannered, three-wheeled, comfortable chariot, easy to harness and often summoned, in whose union are splendid gifts born; may you both come, surpassing the empty, to drink.
These shares of yours, O Indra and Varuṇa, flow forth; for your greatness at the pressings, at every sacrifice, at every pressing, you are present, and you grant to the sacrificer what he seeks.
The plants and waters have settled down, O Indra and Varuṇa, they have reached your greatness; those who flow at the edge of the sky, at the end of the path—no enemy, no godless one, can overtake them.
It is true, O Indra and Varuṇa: for you, the seven voices milk out the wave of sweet honey; with these, you protect the worshipper, O lords of splendor, whoever, uninjured by you, is guarded by your insights.
The seven sisters, ghee-shedding, gentle, ever-youthful, the abode of truth, who for you, O Indra and Varuṇa, pour out ghee—by these, grant to the sacrificer, provide for him.
We have spoken for great good fortune, the truth about your mighty, awe-inspiring power; O Indra and Varuṇa, with the three and the seven ghee-shedding ones, protect us, O lords of splendor.
O Indra and Varuṇa, when you gave to the seers at first the thought, the speech, the intelligence, the hearing; the wise ones created the places, performing sacrifice, I beheld them by their fervor.
O Indra and Varuṇa, bestow upon the sacrificers cheerful, unshaken wealth and abundance; grant us offspring, nourishment, prosperity; extend our lifespan for long years.
Agni, come with the fires; as Hotar we choose you. Let the prepared, offering-bearing one call you; most fit for sacrifice, take your seat on the sacred grass.
For to you, O son of strength, O Angiras, the ladles move at the ritual; we seek Agni, the child of strength, with ghee-bright hair, foremost in sacrifices.
Agni, you are the sage, the creator, the Hotar, the pure one, worthy of worship; gracious, most fit for sacrifice, praised in rituals, you are to be lauded by the wise with shining hymns.
Bring us, O youngest and swiftest god, the undeceiving, ever-flowing wealth; come to the well-prepared offerings, O treasure-giver, rejoice in the hymns set for you.
You alone, Agni, are spread forth here as protector, as sage, as guardian of truth; the wise, kindling you, the shining one, call you forth, O creator.
Shine, most radiant Agni, blaze forth; grant delight to the people through praise, for you are great. Let the blessings of the gods be mine, let the noble ones, victorious over foes, be my fires.
Just as, Agni, you revive the aged and powerless on earth, so burn up, O friend of Mitra, whoever among us is hostile, whoever devises evil intent.
Do not abandon us to mortal foes, to the malicious, to the reviler; O youngest, protect us with unfailing, swift, and auspicious guardians.
