He whose friend is every noble, every Dāsa, every ally, every foe; even among the Arya, even among the fierce, the wealth is won for you.
Swiftly the inspired ones have sung the honey-sweet, ghee-flowing hymn; for us the wealth has spread, the manly power and strength, for us the Soma-draughts have been pressed, O Indra.
As you, O Śakra, drank the pressed Soma with Manu, son of Vivasvat; as with Trita, O Indra, you delighted in the hymn, rejoicing together.
For Pṛṣadhra, for Medhya, for Mātariśvan, O Indra, you were gladdened by the pressed Soma; as you drank Soma with Daśaśipra, Daśoṇya, and Syūmaraśmi, you are straight in your ways.
He who alone composed the hymns, who drank the Soma with boldness—for him Viṣṇu strode out the three steps, in accordance with the law of Mitra.
For whom, O Indra, you are pleased in the praises, O mighty one, in the contest for prizes—for him, like a cow yielding abundant milk, we, desiring fame, offer you.
He who is our giver, he is our father, the great, the mighty, the lordly one; may that mighty Maghavan, the much-invoked, grant us the wealth of cows and horses.
To whom, O generous one, you grant gifts, he increases in wealth and prosperity; we, desiring riches, invoke Indra, lord of treasures, of a hundred powers, with our hymns.
When, O Aditya, will you ever release us? Protect both our births. May your immortal power, established in heaven, stand firm at the fourth offering.
To whom, O generous Indra, singer of praises, you grant your favor, you teach and instruct the worshipper. Hear, O treasure-giver, our songs and our excellent praise, listen to the call of the Kanvas.
The ancient hymn has been recited; let it be spoken for Indra. Many great praises of truth have been composed; the thoughts of the singer have flowed forth.
Indra has shaken forth abundant wealth; he has united the earth and the sun. The bright, pure, and strong ones, the heads of cattle, the Somas, have gladdened Indra.
We invoke you, Indra, supreme among the generous, foremost among the mighty, best of the benefactors, knower of cattle, lord of wealth.
You, who have increased the life of Kutsa, Atithigva, and others, day by day— we call you, Indra, tamer of horses, possessor of a hundred powers, with our praises.
Let the flowing streams pour the essence of sweetness for us— those pressed far away among peoples, and those pressed nearby, the drops of Soma.
Destroy all hatreds, drive them away; let all the treasures come to us. Even among the chosen, the exhilarating portions are there where you, Indra, delight in Soma.
Indra, come nearer, approach with friendly thoughts and aids. With the most auspicious, with the most helpful, with the most restful, come to us.
Make us victorious, lord of the people, bring us offspring and wealth. Let those who praise you with hymns purify their strength with your powers.
May we be those who are nearest to your help, in your battles. With our offerings and divine invocations, we seek to win your favor.
For I, O Indra, eager for strength, always go to the contest with praises. I seek you, O god, as the tamer of darkness, the tamer of horses, the foremost among the eager.
This heroic deed of yours, Indra, the poets celebrate with songs. They praise you, bringer of strength, pouring forth clarified butter, the men of old honor you with their thoughts.
They honor Indra for help, for good deeds, in whose pressings he delights; as you were joyful with Samvarana, as with Krisha, so delight in us, Indra.
May all the gods together come to us, may they approach us. May the Vasus and Rudras come for our aid, may the Maruts hear our call.
May Pūṣan, Viṣṇu, and Sarasvatī attend my invocation; may the seven rivers, the waters, the wind, the mountains, the lord of the forest, and the earth hear my call.
Whatever wealth, O Indra, you possess, most generous, best of the generous, with that, be mindful of us in the assembly; may Bhaga, the giver, increase our share for giving, O slayer of Vṛtra.
O lord of the contest, lord of men, lead us to strength, O wise one. With our offerings and divine invocations, may we, striving, be heard.
Indeed, noble blessings exist, Indra, for the life of people. O generous one, grant them to us; pour forth nourishing food for the worshipper.
We offer you, Indra, our praises; you, wielder of the thunderbolt, are ours. Bestow great, abundant, and splendid wealth without delay; gladden Praskanva with it.
The many heroic deeds of Indra are proclaimed and approach us. Your wealth, O wolf, is for the enemy.
A hundred white bulls shine in the sky like stars. By their greatness, they have not pressed down the heavens.
