ऐतु पूषा रयिर्भगः स्वस्ति सर्वधातमः । उरुरध्वा स्वस्तये
May Pūṣan, may wealth, may fortune, may well-being, the all-supporting, come; may the broad path lead to well-being.
अरमतिरनर्वणो विश्वो देवस्य मनसा । आदित्यानामनेह इत्
Unwearied, without harm, may all the thoughts of the god, of the Ādityas, come here without delay.
यथा नो मित्रो अर्यमा वरुणः सन्ति गोपाः । सुगा ऋतस्य पन्थाः
As Mitra, Aryaman, and Varuṇa are our guardians, may the paths of truth be easy for us.
अग्निं वः पूर्व्यं गिरा देवमीळे वसूनाम् । सपर्यन्तः पुरुप्रियं मित्रं न क्षेत्रसाधसम्
With praise I invoke Agni, the ancient god of the treasures; worship him, beloved by many, like a friend who brings success in the field.
मक्षू देववतो रथः शूरो वा पृत्सु कासु चित् । देवानां य इन्मनो यजमान इयक्षत्यभीदयज्वनो भुवत्
Swift is the chariot of the godly, or the hero in any battle; he who, with devotion, worships the gods, becomes one who conquers adversaries.
न यजमान रिष्यसि न सुन्वान न देवयो । देवानां य इन्मनो यजमान इयक्षत्यभीदयज्वनो भुवत्
The sacrificer does not suffer loss, nor the Soma-presser, nor the worshipper of the gods; he who, with devotion, worships the gods, becomes one who conquers adversaries.
नकिष्टं कर्मणा नशन्न प्र योषन्न योषति । देवानां य इन्मनो यजमान इयक्षत्यभीदयज्वनो भुवत्
No one is destroyed by action, nor by woman, nor by desire; he who, with devotion, worships the gods, becomes one who conquers adversaries.
असदत्र सुवीर्यमुत त्यदाश्वश्व्यम् । देवानां य इन्मनो यजमान इयक्षत्यभीदयज्वनो भुवत्
Here is found true heroism, and also the possession of horses; he who, with devotion, worships the gods, becomes one who conquers adversaries.
प्र कृतान्यृजीषिणः कण्वा इन्द्रस्य गाथया । मदे सोमस्य वोचत
Now proclaim the deeds performed by the Kanvas, O Indra, with a song; speak of the exhilaration from Soma.
यः सृबिन्दमनर्शनिं पिप्रुं दासमहीशुवम् । वधीदुग्रो रिणन्नपः
He who struck down Śṛbinda, Anarśani, Pipru, and the mighty bowman Dāsa; the fierce one who destroyed the waters.
न्यर्बुदस्य विष्टपं वर्ष्माणं बृहतस्तिर । कृषे तदिन्द्र पौंस्यम्
You stretched out the expanse of Arbuda, the lofty height, O Indra; by this you displayed your manly strength.
प्रति श्रुताय वो धृषत्तूर्णाशं न गिरेरधि । हुवे सुशिप्रमूतये
To the renowned one, bold and swift, as from the mountain's summit, I call for gracious aid, O well-yoked one.
स गोरश्वस्य वि व्रजं मन्दानः सोम्येभ्यः । पुरं न शूर दर्षसि
He, delighting in the Soma draughts, breaks open the pen of the bull and horse, O hero, as you would a fortress.
यदि मे रारणः सुत उक्थे वा दधसे चनः । आरादुप स्वधा गहि
If you, pleased by the pressed Soma or by our hymn, have set your mind upon us, come near with your favor.
वयं घा ते अपि ष्मसि स्तोतार इन्द्र गिर्वणः । त्वं नो जिन्व सोमपाः
We indeed are your singers, O Indra, lover of song; you, Soma-drinker, make us victorious.
उत नः पितुमा भर संरराणो अविक्षितम् । मघवन्भूरि ते वसु
And bring us, rejoicing, a portion to nourish us unfailingly; O bountiful one, you have much wealth.
उत नो गोमतस्कृधि हिरण्यवतो अश्विनः । इळाभिः सं रभेमहि
And grant us cattle, make us possessors of gold and horses; with gifts may we unite in strength.
बृबदुक्थं हवामहे सृप्रकरस्नमूतये । साधु कृण्वन्तमवसे
We call upon Bṛhaduktha, swift in action, for aid; the one who does good for help.
यः संस्थे चिच्छतक्रतुरादीं कृणोति वृत्रहा । जरितृभ्यः पुरूवसुः
He, even in the assembly, whose power is true, the slayer of Vṛtra, bestows wealth upon the singers.
स नः शक्रश्चिदा शकद्दानवाँ अन्तराभरः । इन्द्रो विश्वाभिरूतिभिः
May even Śakra himself be able to bring us gifts in abundance, Indra with all his aids.
यो रायोऽवनिर्महान्सुपारः सुन्वतः सखा । तमिन्द्रमभि गायत
He who is the great protector of riches, the sure helper, the friend of the one who presses Soma—sing to that Indra.
आयन्तारं महि स्थिरं पृतनासु श्रवोजितम् । भूरेरीशानमोजसा
To the mighty, steadfast helper who comes, famed in battles, the lord of great strength—sing with praise.
नकिरस्य शचीनां नियन्ता सूनृतानाम् । नकिर्वक्ता न दादिति
No one restrains his powers, no one his generous words; no one can say or give as he does.
न नूनं ब्रह्मणामृणं प्राशूनामस्ति सुन्वताम् । न सोमो अप्रता पपे
There is truly no neglect of the prayers of the priests, nor of those who press Soma; Soma is never wasted.
पन्य इदुप गायत पन्य उक्थानि शंसत । ब्रह्मा कृणोत पन्य इत्
Sing forth what is praiseworthy, declare praiseworthy hymns; perform the sacred rite with what is praiseworthy.
पन्य आ दर्दिरच्छता सहस्रा वाज्यवृतः । इन्द्रो यो यज्वनो वृधः
May what is praiseworthy come to you in abundance, with thousands, protected by strength; Indra, who increases the worshipper.
वि षू चर स्वधा अनु कृष्टीनामन्वाहुवः । इन्द्र पिब सुतानाम्
Move freely according to your own will among the peoples, as we have called you; Indra, drink of the pressed Soma.
पिब स्वधैनवानामुत यस्तुग्र्ये सचा । उतायमिन्द्र यस्तव
Drink with your own power, O Indra, of the Soma pressed for you, and also that which is pressed with strength; and also that which is yours, O Indra.
अतीहि मन्युषाविणं सुषुवांसमुपारणे । इमं रातं सुतं पिब
Come with eager spirit to the pressed Soma at the offering; drink this gift, this Soma, which has been prepared.
इहि तिस्रः परावत इहि पञ्च जनाँ अति । धेना इन्द्रावचाकशत्
Come to these three gatherings, come to the five peoples; the cows, O Indra, have called out to you.
