Ascend, O Ashvins, your chariot, rich in wealth, with golden box; harness the nourishing gifts.
With those means by which you saved Paktha, by which you saved Adhrigu, by which you saved Babhru, free from harm— with those, O Ashvins, come swiftly to us, heal and cure the afflicted.
When the Adhrigu cows, O Ashvins, even today, we call upon you; we, skillful in song, with our hymns.
With those means, O vigorous ones, come here to my call, all-encompassing, all-powerful; with the greatest nourishment, O men, with which you made Krivi prosper, with those come here.
With those very means, O Ashvins, I, the one who praises, call upon you even today; to those I bow with reverence.
With those at dawn, with those at sunrise, O lords of beauty, with those at the journey, O Rudra-turning ones; do not let us, O Lords of the swift steeds, be known to mortal foe or to the wrathful Rudra.
For the easy path, to the easy-going one, at morning, with your chariot, O Ashvins, or with your powers, I call as a loving son calls his father.
With mind-swiftness, O vigorous ones, full of delight, coming swiftly with your aids, even from afar, come to us for help, with your many, much-enjoyed gifts.
Come to us, O Ashvins, with a path full of horses, O honey-drinkers, O men; with cows, O wondrous ones, with gold.
With excellent reward, with excellent heroism, with excellent wealth, unconquered by the evil one; in this coming of yours, O Lords of the swift steeds, may we obtain all your blessings.
Desire the favor of the earth, sacrifice to Jatavedas, whose smoke moves, whose flame is not seized.
The tamer of all peoples, Agni, of all minds, with song; I also praise the chariots that contend for the prize.
For whom there is no hindrance, O mighty one, whose nourishment and abundance are not restrained; the fire finds wealth at the offering.
His flame has arisen, shining, undying; the splendor of the devourer, of bright radiance, of the leader of hosts.
Rise up, O you of proper rites, praised, with the compassion of the goddess; shine forth with your great light, O resplendent one.
Agni, come with good praises, bearing the offerings continually; as you became the messenger, the bearer of offerings.
I call upon Agni, the ancient one, the priest of humankind; with this praise I honor him, with this voice I extol him.
With sacrifices, we approach him whose power is wondrous, whom the kindly ones awaken, a friend among people, steadfast in truth.
Those true to the order, immortal, the accomplishers of sacrifice, with words have drawn near to him, delighting in the abode of reverence.
Let our sacrifices, well-ordered, go to the most Angiras-like among us, who is the most renowned priest among the peoples.
O Agni, those flames of yours, undying, shining greatly, are like powerful, vigorous stallions.
So you, lord of strength, grant us wealth and good heroism; protect us in our offspring, in our children, in battles.
Whenever the lord of the people, sharp, well-pleased among men, Agni repels all the threats.
Hear, O Agni, my new hymn, O heroic lord of the people; burn up the sorcerers, the demons, with your heat.
No mortal enemy can overpower by cunning the one who has given offerings to Agni, the bearer of oblations.
The seer, desiring wealth, praised you, the giver of riches, O swift one; for great treasure, we kindle you.
Uśanā Kāvya appointed you as the priest; as the sacrificer, he chose you, Jātavedas, for Manu.
All the gods together made you their messenger; you, O god, became the first, worthy of sacrifice, to be heard.
Let a man make this immortal one his messenger, this shining, black-tracked, soaring Agni.
We invoke him, whose ladles are ready, who is bright, with pure flames—Agni of the peoples, ageless, ancient, worthy of praise.
