इन्द्रो वा घेदियन्मघं सरस्वती वा सुभगा ददिर्वसु । त्वं वा चित्र दाशुषे
Indra may give wealth, or Sarasvati, the gracious one, may bestow riches; or you, O splendid one, to the worshipper.
चित्र इद्राजा राजका इदन्यके यके सरस्वतीमनु । पर्जन्य इव ततनद्धि वृष्ट्या सहस्रमयुता ददत्
Splendid is the king, and so are the other kings, who follow Sarasvati. Like Parjanya, he stretches forth with rain, giving thousands and tens of thousands.
ओ त्यमह्व आ रथमद्या दंसिष्ठमूतये । यमश्विना सुहवा रुद्रवर्तनी आ सूर्यायै तस्थथुः
Here I call today the swift chariot for help; the two Ashvins, well-invoked, with Rudra's ways, have stood for Surya.
पूर्वायुषं सुहवं पुरुस्पृहं भुज्युं वाजेषु पूर्व्यम् । सचनावन्तं सुमतिभिः सोभरे विद्वेषसमनेहसम्
Bhujyu, of ancient life, well-invoked, much-desired, foremost in contests, accompanied by your favor, is protected by you, free from hatred and harm.
इह त्या पुरुभूतमा देवा नमोभिरश्विना । अर्वाचीना स्ववसे करामहे गन्तारा दाशुषो गृहम्
Here, O Ashvins, you who are abundant, gods, with reverence, we call you near for your help; may you come to the worshipper's house.
युवो रथस्य परि चक्रमीयत ईर्मान्यद्वामिषण्यति । अस्माँ अच्छा सुमतिर्वां शुभस्पती आ धेनुरिव धावतु
Around your chariot the wheels turn; whatever you desire, that is fulfilled. May your favor, O lords of beauty, rush to us like a cow to her calf.
रथो यो वां त्रिवन्धुरो हिरण्याभीशुरश्विना । परि द्यावापृथिवी भूषति श्रुतस्तेन नासत्या गतम्
Your chariot, O Ashvins, with three supports, with golden reins, circles heaven and earth; with it, O Nasatyas, come, for it is renowned.
दशस्यन्ता मनवे पूर्व्यं दिवि यवं वृकेण कर्षथः । ता वामद्य सुमतिभिः शुभस्पती अश्विना प्र स्तुवीमहि
You grant ancient favor to Manu; in heaven you draw barley with the wolf. Today, with your favor, O lords of beauty, O Ashvins, we praise you.
उप नो वाजिनीवसू यातमृतस्य पथिभिः । येभिस्तृक्षिं वृषणा त्रासदस्यवं महे क्षत्राय जिन्वथः
Come to us, O Lords of the swift steeds, by the paths of truth, by which you, O mighty ones, have driven forth Trisiras and Trasadasyu for great dominion.
अयं वामद्रिभिः सुतः सोमो नरा वृषण्वसू । आ यातं सोमपीतये पिबतं दाशुषो गृहे
Here is the Soma pressed with stones for you, O vigorous ones, O men of abundant wealth; come for the drinking of Soma, drink in the house of the worshipper.
आ हि रुहतमश्विना रथे कोशे हिरण्यये वृषण्वसू । युञ्जाथां पीवरीरिषः
Ascend, O Ashvins, your chariot, rich in wealth, with golden box; harness the nourishing gifts.
याभिः पक्थमवथो याभिरध्रिगुं याभिर्बभ्रुं विजोषसम् । ताभिर्नो मक्षू तूयमश्विना गतं भिषज्यतं यदातुरम्
With those means by which you saved Paktha, by which you saved Adhrigu, by which you saved Babhru, free from harm— with those, O Ashvins, come swiftly to us, heal and cure the afflicted.
यदध्रिगावो अध्रिगू इदा चिदह्नो अश्विना हवामहे । वयं गीर्भिर्विपन्यवः
When the Adhrigu cows, O Ashvins, even today, we call upon you; we, skillful in song, with our hymns.
ताभिरा यातं वृषणोप मे हवं विश्वप्सुं विश्ववार्यम् । इषा मंहिष्ठा पुरुभूतमा नरा याभिः क्रिविं वावृधुस्ताभिरा गतम्
With those means, O vigorous ones, come here to my call, all-encompassing, all-powerful; with the greatest nourishment, O men, with which you made Krivi prosper, with those come here.
ताविदा चिदहानां तावश्विना वन्दमान उप ब्रुवे । ता उ नमोभिरीमहे
With those very means, O Ashvins, I, the one who praises, call upon you even today; to those I bow with reverence.
ताविद्दोषा ता उषसि शुभस्पती ता यामन्रुद्रवर्तनी । मा नो मर्ताय रिपवे वाजिनीवसू परो रुद्रावति ख्यतम्
With those at dawn, with those at sunrise, O lords of beauty, with those at the journey, O Rudra-turning ones; do not let us, O Lords of the swift steeds, be known to mortal foe or to the wrathful Rudra.
आ सुग्म्याय सुग्म्यं प्राता रथेनाश्विना वा सक्षणी । हुवे पितेव सोभरी
For the easy path, to the easy-going one, at morning, with your chariot, O Ashvins, or with your powers, I call as a loving son calls his father.
मनोजवसा वृषणा मदच्युता मक्षुंगमाभिरूतिभिः । आरात्ताच्चिद्भूतमस्मे अवसे पूर्वीभिः पुरुभोजसा
With mind-swiftness, O vigorous ones, full of delight, coming swiftly with your aids, even from afar, come to us for help, with your many, much-enjoyed gifts.
आ नो अश्वावदश्विना वर्तिर्यासिष्टं मधुपातमा नरा । गोमद्दस्रा हिरण्यवत्
Come to us, O Ashvins, with a path full of horses, O honey-drinkers, O men; with cows, O wondrous ones, with gold.
सुप्रावर्गं सुवीर्यं सुष्ठु वार्यमनाधृष्टं रक्षस्विना । अस्मिन्ना वामायाने वाजिनीवसू विश्वा वामानि धीमहि
With excellent reward, with excellent heroism, with excellent wealth, unconquered by the evil one; in this coming of yours, O Lords of the swift steeds, may we obtain all your blessings.
ईळिष्वा हि प्रतीव्यं यजस्व जातवेदसम् । चरिष्णुधूममगृभीतशोचिषम्
Desire the favor of the earth, sacrifice to Jatavedas, whose smoke moves, whose flame is not seized.
दामानं विश्वचर्षणेऽग्निं विश्वमनो गिरा । उत स्तुषे विष्पर्धसो रथानाम्
The tamer of all peoples, Agni, of all minds, with song; I also praise the chariots that contend for the prize.
येषामाबाध ऋग्मिय इषः पृक्षश्च निग्रभे । उपविदा वह्निर्विन्दते वसु
For whom there is no hindrance, O mighty one, whose nourishment and abundance are not restrained; the fire finds wealth at the offering.
उदस्य शोचिरस्थाद्दीदियुषो व्यजरम् । तपुर्जम्भस्य सुद्युतो गणश्रियः
His flame has arisen, shining, undying; the splendor of the devourer, of bright radiance, of the leader of hosts.
उदु तिष्ठ स्वध्वर स्तवानो देव्या कृपा । अभिख्या भासा बृहता शुशुक्वनिः
Rise up, O you of proper rites, praised, with the compassion of the goddess; shine forth with your great light, O resplendent one.
अग्ने याहि सुशस्तिभिर्हव्या जुह्वान आनुषक् । यथा दूतो बभूथ हव्यवाहनः
Agni, come with good praises, bearing the offerings continually; as you became the messenger, the bearer of offerings.
अग्निं वः पूर्व्यं हुवे होतारं चर्षणीनाम् । तमया वाचा गृणे तमु व स्तुषे
I call upon Agni, the ancient one, the priest of humankind; with this praise I honor him, with this voice I extol him.
यज्ञेभिरद्भुतक्रतुं यं कृपा सूदयन्त इत् । मित्रं न जने सुधितमृतावनि
With sacrifices, we approach him whose power is wondrous, whom the kindly ones awaken, a friend among people, steadfast in truth.
ऋतावानमृतायवो यज्ञस्य साधनं गिरा । उपो एनं जुजुषुर्नमसस्पदे
Those true to the order, immortal, the accomplishers of sacrifice, with words have drawn near to him, delighting in the abode of reverence.
अच्छा नो अङ्गिरस्तमं यज्ञासो यन्तु संयतः । होता यो अस्ति विक्ष्वा यशस्तमः
Let our sacrifices, well-ordered, go to the most Angiras-like among us, who is the most renowned priest among the peoples.
