May that shelter which you grant, O Ādityas, release us, even if we have sinned, O generous ones.
If any mortal, wishing to harm us, acts as a demon, may he, by his own actions, bring harm only to himself.
May the hostile, evil-minded mortal who seeks to harm us, who approaches with ill intent, partake of sin.
Be watchful, O gods; you know the mortal in your hearts—both the hostile and the friendly, O Vasus.
We choose the shelter of the mountains and of the waters; O Heaven and Earth, remove from us what is harmful.
With your auspicious protection, O Vasus, carry us in your ship; deliver us from all misfortunes.
For our offspring, grant us that, O Ādityas of great might—long life for living.
For our sacrifice and praise are among you, O Ādityas; be gracious. In you alone do we find kinship.
We invoke the great-protecting god among the Maruts, the savior, the Ashvins, and Mitra and Varuna for our well-being.
O Mitra, Aryaman, and Varuna, free from enmity, worthy of praise, may the Maruts with triple protection bring us shelter.
For indeed, O Adityas, though we are mortals bound by death, grant us, your descendants, a span of life to live through.
With devotion, the gods have established that god, the destroyer of want, the radiant one; among the gods, they have offered the oblation.
Worship Agni, the bestower of abundant gifts, the sage of brilliant flame, the guide, for the splendor of this wise and delightful sacrifice, for the ancient rite.
We have chosen you, O god, as the most fit for sacrifice, the immortal priest among the gods, of good counsel for this offering.
Agni, offspring of strength, fortunate, of splendid light, of supreme brilliance—may he obtain for us the favor of Mitra, Varuna, and the waters in heaven.
He who, with kindling, with offerings, or with knowledge, serves Agni, the mortal who worships with reverence and proper rites—
For him, swift horses bring delight; for him is the most glorious fame; no harm made by gods or mortals can reach him.
May we, with our own fires, be united with Agni, O son of strength, lord of nourishment; may you be our unfailing hero.
Agni, praised like a guest, like a friend, like a chariot to be known—through you, there is safety, and the good are established; you are the king of riches.
That mortal, O Agni, who, with devotion and proper rites, is fortunate and praiseworthy—may he be a winner through his thoughts.
He for whom you, exalted, stand at the sacrifice, O slayer of foes, he prospers; with horses, with wise men, with heroes, he wins what is done.
In whose house Agni, the all-desirable, places our praise—may he receive the offerings, may he drive away the hostile.
Of the inspired one who praises you, O mighty one, the most generous in gifts—grant him, O treasure, a place above mortals, and make known the words of the wise.

He who, with kindling, serves Aditi with the rites, that mortal, with all his thoughts, crosses over all people with splendor, as over water with a boat.
O Agni, bring us that glory by which you overcome any hostile one in the assembly, the wrath of the people, O destroyer.
By whom Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman, by whom the Aśvins and Bhaga are beheld—by your power, O Indra, may we, too, perform acts of worship that lead to the path of strength.
Those indeed, O Agni, are truly wise who, O sage, have established you, the one who sees among men—O god, the inspired ones, possessing good counsel.
They, O fortunate one, have made the altar and the offering for you to taste in heaven; they have won great wealth with prizes, those who have placed their desire in you.
May Agni, when invoked, be auspicious for us; may the gift be auspicious, O fortunate one, may the sacrifice be auspicious, and may the praises also be auspicious.
