With praises, with chants, with songs, the peoples magnify Indra.
The leader to wealth, the bringer of light in battles, the one who overcomes foes in combat.
May Indra, much-invoked, who has protected us, carry us safely across all dangers, like a boat, to well-being.
So you, Indra, grant us favor with your gifts and with the path to prosperity; bring us your goodwill.
Come here, Indra, for you are truly delighted; drink this Soma; this sacred seat is prepared for you.
Let your two long-haired steeds, yoked by prayer, bring you here, Indra; listen to our hymns.
We, the Soma-pressers, call you, Indra, with prayer, as those who have prepared the Soma.
Come to us who have pressed the Soma, approach our well-praised offering; drink, O fair-jawed one, of the sweet drink.
I pour for you into your bellies; let it flow over your limbs; seize the sweetness with your tongue.
Let the Soma, pressed and sweet, full of honey, be pleasant for your body; may it bring peace to your heart.
This Soma, O wise one, is pressed for you, enclosed as a mother encloses her child; let it flow forth to you, Indra.
With mighty neck, ample belly, and strong arms, Indra, in the exhilaration of the drink, slays the foes.
Indra, go forth ahead with your strength, lord of all; slay the foes, O slayer of Vṛtra.
May your goad be long, by which you grant wealth to the sacrificer who presses Soma.
Here is your purified Soma, Indra, on the sacred grass; come, hasten, and drink of it.
This Soma is pressed for your strength, for your delight in battle, O Indra; you are invoked, O Aghaṇḍala.
You whose bull has horns, offspring of the bull, the drinker from the vessel—place your mind here.
O lord of the dwelling, firm pillar, assembly of the Soma-pressers, the drop, breaker of ancient cities, Indra, friend of sages.
He, though alone, surpasses many in the quest for cows at the sacrifice; he leads the swift horse, the powerful one, to drink Soma in the front.
Now indeed, a mortal should seek the favor of these, the Adityas, whose blessing is unique and supreme.
For the path of these Ādityas is not crooked; their ways are unerring, well-established, and easy to traverse.
May Savitṛ, Bhaga, Varuṇa, Mitra, and Aryaman grant us shelter, broad and secure, as we seek it.
O divine Aditi, come to us with the gods, bearing undiminished protection, together with our wise ones, O much-beloved, with good shelter.
For they are the sons of Aditi, knowing how to drive away hatred, expanding wide even distress, and removing guilt.
May Aditi, undivided, guard us by day with abundance, and by night; may Aditi, ever-growing, protect us from harm.
And may Aditi's thought come to us by day as help; may she bring peace, joy, and drive away obstacles.
And may those divine physicians, the Aśvins, bring us well-being; may they ward off evil and remove obstacles.
May Agni, with the other fires, bring us peace; may Sūrya protect us from harm; may the wind, O wind, drive away evil and remove obstacles.
Drive away disease, drive away obstacles, drive away evil intent; O Ādityas, protect us from distress.
Protect us from the arrow, O Ādityas, and from hostility; remove hatred, O all-knowing ones.
