As you did in the contest for wealth, for the Soma among cows for Agastya, and in the contest for prizes for Sobhari.
So much, O mighty Ashvins, or even more, do we, singing your praise, seek your favor.
Your chariot, O Ashvins, has golden yokes and golden reins; you have indeed mounted it, reaching to the sky.
Its pole is golden, its harness is splendid, its axle is golden; both wheels are golden.
With that, O givers of horses, come to us even from afar; accept this good praise of mine.
You come from afar, O Ashvins, bringing many gifts, bestowing nourishment, O immortal ones.
Come to us, O Ashvins, with glory, with fame, with wealth, O Nasatyas, shining before all.
Here, let your feathered, rain-bringing birds carry you, to this worshipful gathering of people.
The chariot which, accompanied by songs, moves with strength—its wheel is never hindered.
With your golden chariot, with swift hands and horses, you hasten, O Nasatyas, inspired by thought.
You two delight in the vigilant deer, or in the strong, wealthy bull; grant us nourishment and wealth.
O Ashvins, know these gifts of mine, new ones; just as Caidiya, the generous, gave a hundred camels and ten thousand cows.
He who gave me ten kings, shining like gold, was not diminished; beneath Caidiya, his people thrived, and many gathered around him.
Let no one travel this path with me, for these Caidiya go forth; another, not a leader, rises, but the one with abundant gifts is the greater man.
Mighty is Indra by his strength, like the rain-bringing Parjanya; he grew strong through the praises of the calf.
You who nourish the offspring of immortality, when the fires bear forth, O wise ones, by the vehicle of truth.
When the Kanvas made Indra with praises, the accomplisher of sacrifice, they called the weapon kin.
For his wrath, all peoples bow down; like rivers to the ocean.
Such is his strength and brilliance, when he brought together both; Indra, like a skin, enveloped the heavens and earth.
He split the head of the resisting Vritra with the thunderbolt of a hundred joints, with his mighty force.
We praise these thoughts among the foremost, shining like the flame of Agni.
Though hidden, they shine forth by their own nature; the Kanvas, by the stream of truth.
Let us seek from Indra wealth, rich in cows and horses; let us offer the hymn for ancient insight.
Indeed, I have grasped the wisdom of immortality from my father; I was born like the sun.
With ancient thought, I adorn my songs like the Kanvas, by which Indra gained his strength.
Those sages who did not praise you, Indra, and those who did, let me, well-praised, increase your might.
When his wrath moved, he broke the Vritra, the barriers; he sent the waters to the ocean.
You struck down Shushna, Indra, with the thunderbolt for the enemy; mighty and fierce, you are heard.
Neither the heavens, Indra, by their might, nor the midspaces restrain the wielder of the thunderbolt; nor do the earths hold him back.
Whoever, Indra, would oppose your great waters, being set up against them, you strike him down on the paths.
