Bestow upon the inspired ones immortal fame and wealth, and upon us, O Uṣas, the prize rich in cattle; O encourager of the generous, rise up, dispel the darkness.
O Indra and Varuṇa, for our sacrifice and for our people, grant great protection; may we, who strive with long devotion, be victorious in battles, O guardians.
You are called sovereigns, lords of light, O mighty Indra and Varuṇa, great givers of wealth; all the gods in the highest heaven have united their strength and power for you.
With your power you have hollowed out the beds of the waters, you have set the sun, the lord, in the sky; O Indra and Varuṇa, in the exhilaration of this wondrous work, you have filled and inspired the thoughts of the wise.
In battles, you are the fires, O wise ones, you are the source of safety; you are the lords of both kinds of wealth, O Indra and Varuṇa, readily called, we invoke you.
O Indra and Varuṇa, by your power you have made all these beings and all that is born; Mitra, with Varuṇa, brings security, and the mighty one with the Maruts advances with good fortune.
For the great reward of Varuṇa, his strength is measured, his own is firm; one cuts down the unrighteous, another surpasses the weak, another chooses greater things.
No harm, no evil, nor any suffering befalls the mortal, O Indra and Varuṇa, from any source, for whom you gods go before at the sacrifice; the error of mortals does not destroy him.
Come near, O men, with divine aid; listen to this call, if you are pleased with me; O Indra and Varuṇa, grant that friendship and favor, whatever is gracious and worthy.
O Indra and Varuṇa, in every battle be our leaders with your people's strength; if both sides call upon you, then decide, O men, in the contests for offspring and descendants.
May Indra, Varuṇa, Mitra, and Aryaman grant us glory, great and wide protection; may we honor the undeceiving light of Aditi, the upholder of truth, and the praise of the god Savitar.
You two, O men, seeing the ancient friendship, went forth to the east, seeking cattle, with broad armies; O Indra and Varuṇa, you aided Sudās with your help against the Dāsas and the Vṛtras, and the Aryas as well.
Where men gather, with banners raised, where nothing is dear in battle, where the shining ones are afraid, there, O Indra and Varuṇa, speak on our behalf.
The ends of the earth, covered in darkness, you have seen, O Indra and Varuṇa; your sound has risen to the sky; let not our enemies stand firm, come near with your help, you who hear our call.
O Indra and Varuṇa, with your invincible weapons, breaking through, you protected Sudās; listen to the prayers of these priests, for true was the priesthood of the Tṛtsus.
O Indra and Varuṇa, the hostile ones, the enemies, oppress the noble with their might; for you are the rulers of both kinds of wealth, so protect us in the highest heaven.
Both of you are invoked in the battles, Indra and Varuṇa, for aid; where Sudās, surrounded by ten kings, you protected together with the Tṛtsus.
Ten kings, assembled and not sacrificing, could not defeat Sudās, O Indra and Varuṇa; the true praise of men became their offering to the gods in their invocations.
For the son of Daśa, beset from all sides, you, Indra and Varuṇa, gave strength to Sudās; where the Tṛtsus, wise and devoted, with white-crested helmets, triumphed through reverence and thought.
One of you slays adversaries in the battles, the other always upholds the vows; we call upon you, mighty ones, with splendid praises, Indra and Varuṇa, grant us your protection.
May Indra, Varuṇa, Mitra, and Aryaman grant us great glory and vast protection; may the unobstructed light of Aditi, the upholder of truth, may we praise the divine radiance of Savitar.
May I turn to you, O kings, at the sacrifice, with offerings, Indra and Varuṇa, with reverence; the stream of clarified butter, placed upon your arms, flows around, assuming many forms.
Your dominion is vast, shining, and enduring, like the sky, established with guides and paths; may Varuṇa's reproach pass us by, and may Indra make our world spacious.
May our sacrifice be accomplished, beautiful in the assemblies; may our hymns be well-praised among the noble; may wealth, accompanied by the gods, come to us, may we cross over with splendid aids.
O Indra and Varuṇa, grant us all-encompassing wealth, rich in goods and abundant; the Āditya, heroic and boundless, dispels falsehood and bestows treasures.
This hymn, eightfold, I have uttered for Indra and Varuṇa, seeking prosperity for offspring and descendants; may we, adorned with noble gifts, reach divine worship; may you always protect us with blessings.
I purify my wise thought, offering Soma to Indra and Varuṇa; like the goddess Dawn, with clarified butter as her adornment, may she come to us, bringing wide protection.
They contend here, those who are invoked by the gods, where the banners shine and fall; you, Indra and Varuṇa, strike down the enemies, drive them away, scatter them in all directions.
Even the waters, possessing their own glory, in their abodes, worship Indra and Varuṇa as deities; one upholds the peoples, the distinguished, the other slays adversaries, unconquered.
May he be the wise, truth-knowing priest, O Āditya, who, with strength and reverence, has turned to you; he has come for your help, bearing offerings, sitting for prosperity, eager for favor.
