उत त्यद्वां जुरते अश्विना भूच्च्यवानाय प्रतीत्यं हविर्दे । अधि यद्वर्प इतऊति धत्थः
That offering, Ashvins, was made for you, for Chyavana, as a fitting sacrifice. When you bestowed your form upon him.
उत त्यं भुज्युमश्विना सखायो मध्ये जहुर्दुरेवासः समुद्रे । निरीं पर्षदरावा यो युवाकुः
And your companions, Ashvins, abandoned Bhujyu in the midst of the ocean, far away. You rescued him, O youthful ones.
वृकाय चिज्जसमानाय शक्तमुत श्रुतं शयवे हूयमाना । यावघ्न्यामपिन्वतमपो न स्तर्यं चिच्छक्त्यश्विना शचीभिः
For the wolf, even for the helpless, you are able; you are renowned for being called upon for sleep. You fill the waters for the cows, Ashvins, with your powers, even for the weak.
एष स्य कारुर्जरते सूक्तैरग्रे बुधान उषसां सुमन्मा । इषा तं वर्धदघ्न्या पयोभिर्यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः
This poet praises with hymns at the forefront, wise among the dawns, with good thoughts. May the cow nourish him with her milk; always protect us with blessings.
आ वां रथो रोदसी बद्बधानो हिरण्ययो वृषभिर्यात्वश्वैः । घृतवर्तनिः पविभी रुचान इषां वोळ्हा नृपतिर्वाजिनीवान्
Your chariot, bound to heaven and earth, golden, should come with strong horses. Its axle is greased, shining with brilliance; the lord, master of steeds, brings you nourishment.
स पप्रथानो अभि पञ्च भूमा त्रिवन्धुरो मनसा यातु युक्तः । विशो येन गच्छथो देवयन्तीः कुत्रा चिद्याममश्विना दधाना
Spreading wide, it traverses the five regions, triple-yoked, moving with mind, harnessed. By it you visit the divine peoples, wherever, Ashvins, you establish your presence.
स्वश्वा यशसा यातमर्वाग्दस्रा निधिं मधुमन्तं पिबाथः । वि वां रथो वध्वा यादमानोऽन्तान्दिवो बाधते वर्तनिभ्याम्
With your splendid horses, you have come near, O gracious ones; drink the honeyed treasure. Your chariot, drawn by the bride, travels and overcomes the boundaries of heaven with its tracks.
युवोः श्रियं परि योषावृणीत सूरो दुहिता परितक्म्यायाम् । यद्देवयन्तमवथः शचीभिः परि घ्रंसमोमना वां वयो गात्
The radiant daughter chose your glory, as the sun chooses the dawn. When you aided the one seeking the gods with your powers, your swift wings carried you forth.
यो ह स्य वां रथिरा वस्त उस्रा रथो युजानः परियाति वर्तिः । तेन नः शं योरुषसो व्युष्टौ न्यश्विना वहतं यज्ञे अस्मिन्
He who is your charioteer, O Ashvins, travels with the dawn, driving the chariot around its course. With him, bring us happiness at the breaking of the day, Ashvins, in this sacrifice.
नरा गौरेव विद्युतं तृषाणास्माकमद्य सवनोप यातम् । पुरुत्रा हि वां मतिभिर्हवन्ते मा वामन्ये नि यमन्देवयन्तः
O heroes, like thirsty cows seeking lightning, come to our pressing of the Soma today. Many call upon you with their thoughts; let not others restrain you, O divine ones.
युवं भुज्युमवविद्धं समुद्र उदूहथुरर्णसो अस्रिधानैः । पतत्रिभिरश्रमैरव्यथिभिर्दंसनाभिरश्विना पारयन्ता
You carried Bhujyu, cast into the sea, across the waters with your swift, tireless, unwearied flying horses, Ashvins, saving him with your jaws.
नू मे हवमा शृणुतं युवाना यासिष्टं वर्तिरश्विनाविरावत् । धत्तं रत्नानि जरतं च सूरीन्यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः
Now hear my call, O youthful ones; come to the path, Ashvins, full of strength. Grant us treasures, and let us grow in abundance; always protect us with blessings.
आ विश्ववाराश्विना गतं नः प्र तत्स्थानमवाचि वां पृथिव्याम् । अश्वो न वाजी शुनपृष्ठो अस्थादा यत्सेदथुर्ध्रुवसे न योनिम्
Come to us, Ashvins, all-beneficent; your place on earth has been declared. Like a swift horse, Shunaprishta stood firm when you established the seat for the steadfast.
सिषक्ति सा वां सुमतिश्चनिष्ठातापि घर्मो मनुषो दुरोणे । यो वां समुद्रान्सरितः पिपर्त्येतग्वा चिन्न सुयुजा युजानः
That favor of yours, Ashvins, is ready to help; even the warmth of man in his home assists. He who guides you across oceans and rivers, even with a well-yoked team, attains this.
यानि स्थानान्यश्विना दधाथे दिवो यह्वीष्वोषधीषु विक्षु । नि पर्वतस्य मूर्धनि सदन्तेषं जनाय दाशुषे वहन्ता
The places you have set, Ashvins, in the heavens, among herbs, and in the fields, rest on the mountain's summit; you carry them for the worshipper.
चनिष्टं देवा ओषधीष्वप्सु यद्योग्या अश्नवैथे ऋषीणाम् । पुरूणि रत्ना दधतौ न्यस्मे अनु पूर्वाणि चख्यथुर्युगानि
That favor of yours is found among herbs and waters; when you attain the worthy deeds of the sages, you grant many treasures to us, and you recount the former generations.
शुश्रुवांसा चिदश्विना पुरूण्यभि ब्रह्माणि चक्षाथे ऋषीणाम् । प्रति प्र यातं वरमा जनायास्मे वामस्तु सुमतिश्चनिष्ठा
Even those who hear, Ashvins, many prayers, you observe the praises of the sages. Come forth for the best among people; let your favor be ready for us.
यो वां यज्ञो नासत्या हविष्मान्कृतब्रह्मा समर्यो भवाति । उप प्र यातं वरमा वसिष्ठमिमा ब्रह्माण्यृच्यन्ते युवभ्याम्
That sacrifice of yours, O Nasatyas, with offerings and composed hymns, becomes noble. Come forth for the best, O Vasistha; these hymns are recited for you both.
इयं मनीषा इयमश्विना गीरिमां सुवृक्तिं वृषणा जुषेथाम् । इमा ब्रह्माणि युवयून्यग्मन्यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः
This thought, this song, Ashvins, may you mighty ones accept with joy. These hymns are newly composed for you; always protect us with blessings.
अप स्वसुरुषसो नग्जिहीते रिणक्ति कृष्णीररुषाय पन्थाम् । अश्वामघा गोमघा वां हुवेम दिवा नक्तं शरुमस्मद्युयोतम्
The dawn drives away darkness, clearing the path for the red one. We invoke you for wealth in horses and cattle, by day and night; may you ward off harm from us.
उपायातं दाशुषे मर्त्याय रथेन वाममश्विना वहन्ता । युयुतमस्मदनिराममीवां दिवा नक्तं माध्वी त्रासीथां नः
Come near to the worshipping mortal, Ashvins, carrying your gifts in your chariot. Defend us from distress and disease, by day and night; may your honeyed protection shield us.
आ वां रथमवमस्यां व्युष्टौ सुम्नायवो वृषणो वर्तयन्तु । स्यूमगभस्तिमृतयुग्भिरश्वैराश्विना वसुमन्तं वहेथाम्
Let your chariot, Ashvins, be brought at dawn by the strong ones, guided by favorable thoughts. With horses adorned with golden harness and deathless yokes, bring us wealth.
यो वां रथो नृपती अस्ति वोळ्हा त्रिवन्धुरो वसुमाँ उस्रयामा । आ न एना नासत्योप यातमभि यद्वां विश्वप्स्न्यो जिगाति
Your chariot, Ashvins, is royal, three-poled, rich in wealth and cattle. Come to us with it, O Nasatyas, for whatever universal benefit you seek.
युवं च्यवानं जरसोऽमुमुक्तं नि पेदव ऊहथुराशुमश्वम् । निरंहसस्तमस स्पर्तमत्रिं नि जाहुषं शिथिरे धातमन्तः
You freed Cyavana from old age, carried him with your swift horse. You rescued Atri from distress and darkness, and restored Jahusha from the cold within the house.
इयं मनीषा इयमश्विना गीरिमां सुवृक्तिं वृषणा जुषेथाम् । इमा ब्रह्माणि युवयून्यग्मन्यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः
This prayer, O Ashvins, may you two mighty ones accept, this hymn rising to the mountain. These offerings of praise, youthful ones, have come to you; always protect us with blessings.
आ गोमता नासत्या रथेनाश्वावता पुरुश्चन्द्रेण यातम् । अभि वां विश्वा नियुतः सचन्ते स्पार्हया श्रिया तन्वा शुभाना
Come, O Nasatyas, with your chariot rich in cattle, drawn by horses, shining in the forefront. All your attendants gather around you, adorned with splendid beauty in form.
आ नो देवेभिरुप यातमर्वाक्सजोषसा नासत्या रथेन । युवोर्हि नः सख्या पित्र्याणि समानो बन्धुरुत तस्य वित्तम्
Come near to us, O Nasatyas, with the gods, with your chariot, in harmony and delight. For your friendship is ancestral to us; you are our kin, and the wealth of that is known.
उदु स्तोमासो अश्विनोरबुध्रञ्जामि ब्रह्माण्युषसश्च देवीः । आविवासन्रोदसी धिष्ण्येमे अच्छा विप्रो नासत्या विवक्ति
The praises for the Ashvins rise up, the hymns and the divine dawns. The priest calls to you, O Nasatyas, inviting the two worlds, the sacred seats, with his voice.
वि चेदुच्छन्त्यश्विना उषासः प्र वां ब्रह्माणि कारवो भरन्ते । ऊर्ध्वं भानुं सविता देवो अश्रेद्बृहदग्नयः समिधा जरन्ते
The dawns spread out, O Ashvins, and the poets carry your hymns. The god Savitar has raised his radiance high; the great fires blaze with kindling.
आ पश्चातान्नासत्या पुरस्तादाश्विना यातमधरादुदक्तात् । आ विश्वतः पाञ्चजन्येन राया यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः
Come from behind, O Nasatyas, from before, O Ashvins, from below and from above. From every direction, with the wealth of the five peoples, always protect us with blessings.
