These, Mitra and Varuna, with far-reaching vision, make even the unwise attentive by their wisdom; even guiding the wise with their counsel, they lead us safely past all distress.
These, ever-watchful from heaven and earth, wise, lead the unmindful; even when the rivers are wide, there is a ford—may they carry us across this vast expanse.

From the earth, O Mitra and Varuna, from the lofty, great heaven, you generous ones, you have placed your spies among plants and peoples, ever vigilant, protecting without blinking.
I praise the domain of Mitra and Varuna; their might binds the two worlds in greatness. The months pass by for those without sacrifice or offspring, but our hymn and offering cross over to you.
All your mighty deeds are unfailing; in them, nothing strange or wondrous is seen, nor any mystery. Deceit clings to the unrighteous among men, but your hidden things are not found in the unhonored.
With reverence I magnify your sacrifice, O Mitra and Varuna, and call upon you without hindrance. I send forth new hymns to you, and these prayers, composed, are gladly received.

That Sun rises before us, with these praises, with these hymns and songs; let us speak forth to Mitra, Varuna, Aryaman, and Agni, for our innocence.

O Heaven and Earth, O Aditi, protect us, you who gave birth to you, with noble origin; let us not suffer the anger of Varuna or the wind, nor lose the favor of Mitra, most beloved among men.
