Let me proclaim this Indra, the generous one, who gives us great wealth and riches; he is present at the worship of the singer—may you always protect us with well-being.
Come to us, god, with your might; be strong, Indra, for this wealth; for great heroism, lord of men, with your good weapon, for great power and manliness, O champion.
Men call upon you for offerings, O champion, in their homes, seeking the favor of the sun; you are victorious among all peoples, you shatter the foes, O mighty one.
When, Indra, you shine forth on a bright day, you grant a sign, a banner in battles; as the fire sits down, the mighty one, like a priest, calls the gods here for good fortune.
We, Indra, and those gods who praise you, O champion, who grant gifts, ask you: grant to our friends the highest protection, so that they may reach old age unharmed.
Let me proclaim this Indra, the generous one, who gives us great wealth and riches; he is present at the worship of the singer—may you always protect us with well-being.
Sing forth the exhilarating praise for Indra, the one with tawny steeds, O friends, for the drinker of Soma.
Let the hymn be auspicious for the generous one, and glorious as men do, for we have composed it for the true benefactor.
You, Indra, are the bestower of horses, you are the giver of cattle, O hundred-powered; you are the giver of gold, O wealthy one.
We, O Indra, your worshippers, praise you with devotion; recognize this, O wealthy one, as ours.
Let not the hostile one, skilled in speech, overpower us in assembly; in you alone is my resolve.
You are our broad shield, the foremost in battle, O slayer of Vṛtra; with you as ally, I speak forth.
Great indeed are you, and whose inherent power is with you; by your might, O Indra, heaven and earth are measured.
You, whom the Marut host surrounds, the resounding one, accompanied by the strong, not to be withstood, with the shining ones.
The upright ones, O Indra, have found you; at dawn they come near; the peoples bow down to you.
Bring forth your praise for the great, the increaser of greatness, the wise one; make your good will manifest; let the many clans advance, O leaders of men.
The inspired ones generate splendid praise for Indra, the wide-ruling, the mighty; the steadfast do not transgress his ordinances.
Voices have established Indra, the unconquerable in spirit, as king for united strength, for the tawny-steeded, with the sacred grass well arranged.
Let not your worshippers ever weary of you; even from afar, come to our libation, or being near, listen to us.
For these hymns made for you, at the pressing of Soma, sit like bees on honey; the singers, desiring wealth, have placed their foot on Indra as on a chariot.
Desiring riches, I call upon the mighty-handed, well-skilled Indra, as a son calls upon his father.
These Somas are pressed for Indra, with curdled milk; for intoxication and drinking, O wielder of the bolt, come homeward with your two bays.
He is renowned, whose ears hear praise; now let not our songs be despised; even he who gives thousands and hundreds at once, let no one hinder the generous one.
That hero, unconquered, has shone with Indra among men; whose deep libations, O slayer of Vṛtra, you hasten to and drink.
Become a shelter, O bountiful one, for the generous, as you join in their battle; may we share in the knowledge of the one you have struck down, and bring home the distant prize of life.
Press Soma for the drinker of Soma, for Indra the wielder of the bolt; cook the offerings for his help, prepare them, for he fills and fulfills with delight.
Do not falter, O Soma-pressers, act skillfully for great wealth; the swift one wins, prospers, and thrives—never do the gods favor the sluggish.
No one has turned aside Sudas' chariot, nor has he been restrained; Indra is his protector, the Maruts are his allies—may he reach the herd rich in cows.
May the mortal who strives for victory attain the prize, O Indra, when you are his protector; be our guardian, O hero, of our chariots, be our champion among men.
The portion of him who strives rises up, like wealth that cannot be conquered; whom Indra, the tawny-horsed, protects, his enemies do not harm—skill is granted to the Soma-presser.
