Men call upon you for offerings, O champion, in their homes, seeking the favor of the sun; you are victorious among all peoples, you shatter the foes, O mighty one.
When, Indra, you shine forth on a bright day, you grant a sign, a banner in battles; as the fire sits down, the mighty one, like a priest, calls the gods here for good fortune.
We, Indra, and those gods who praise you, O champion, who grant gifts, ask you: grant to our friends the highest protection, so that they may reach old age unharmed.

Let the hymn be auspicious for the generous one, and glorious as men do, for we have composed it for the true benefactor.
You, Indra, are the bestower of horses, you are the giver of cattle, O hundred-powered; you are the giver of gold, O wealthy one.

We, O Indra, your worshippers, praise you with devotion; recognize this, O wealthy one, as ours.
Let not the hostile one, skilled in speech, overpower us in assembly; in you alone is my resolve.
You are our broad shield, the foremost in battle, O slayer of Vṛtra; with you as ally, I speak forth.

The inspired ones generate splendid praise for Indra, the wide-ruling, the mighty; the steadfast do not transgress his ordinances.
Voices have established Indra, the unconquerable in spirit, as king for united strength, for the tawny-steeded, with the sacred grass well arranged.
Let not your worshippers ever weary of you; even from afar, come to our libation, or being near, listen to us.
