With armor I cover your vital parts; may Soma follow you with kingly ambrosia; may Varuṇa make you broad in the chest, may the gods make you victorious and rejoice in you.
Whoever, whether our own or a stranger, wishes to harm us, may all the gods strike him down; may prayer be my inner armor.

Grant us, Agni, through wisdom, wealth with brave sons, prosperity, and renowned strength, which neither foe nor traveler can surpass.
To him comes the young woman, skilled and bearing offerings, at evening and morning, with clarified butter; to him, their own devotion, seeking wealth, draws near.
Burn away, Agni, all hostile powers with your heat, undiminished, unaging; drive out every harm and misfortune.

To you, Agni, whose face is kindled, O Vasiṣṭha, bright, shining, and pure, may these hymns bring you here; may you be with us through these praises.
Those mortals, Agni, who have divided your face, men descended from the ancestors, in many places—may you be well-disposed to us here through them.
These men, heroes in the slaying of Vṛtra, may all undivine tricks be overcome by them—those who support my inspired and praiseworthy thought.
Let us not, Agni, sit in want among men; let us not be left without offspring or strength around you, among families in misfortune.
He who, like a horse, always comes to the sacrifice, to our home full of offspring and prosperity, increasing us with his own kin and abundance.
Protect us, Agni, from the evil-minded, from the harmful, from the malicious and the wicked; with you as our ally in battle, may we prevail.

This is that Agni, invoked in many places, the lord, kindled with offerings; he moves around as the priest at the sacrifices.
To you, Agni, may we always offer abundant oblations, O lord; let both our offerings be carried in the assembly.
These, Agni, are the most widely spread offerings; carry them without ceasing to the gods; let their fragrant blessings reach us.
Do not, Agni, drive us away from strength, from good will, from right-mindedness; do not abandon us to hunger, to the demons, to the lawless, in the home or in the forest.

Agni, do not join us with those who bear ill fortune; speak well of us among the gods and among the fires. May harmful thoughts not destroy us, even if they arise, O son of the mighty god.
That mortal, O Agni, who offers the oblation with reverence and devotion, attains wealth among the immortals. He receives the gifts of the gods, for whom the wise seeker comes asking.

Let us praise the greatness of Narāśaṃsa with offerings in the sacrifice. Those wise, pure, and thoughtful gods delight in both kinds of oblations.
