May Sarasvati, dear among the dear seven sisters, well-pleased, be worthy of our praise.
Sarasvati, who fills the earthly realms, the wide space, and the atmosphere, may she drive away our foes.
She stands in three places, has seven sources, five births, ever increasing; may she be invoked in every contest.
She, who by her greatness is foremost among the mighty, surpassing others in splendor, like a chariot made for display, Sarasvati, praised by the wise.
Sarasvati, bring us wealth; do not withhold your abundance; grant us your friendship and hospitality. May we not go to barren lands away from your fields.
I praise the two men, the swift Ashvins of heaven; I, growing old, call upon them with hymns—those who at dawn, at the coming of light, swiftly traverse the farthest realms.
They, shining, wheel their chariot in the sacrifice with pure radiance, lighting up the spaces; measuring countless realms, they cross rivers and deserts, unhindered.
They, indeed, are the course when the strong, unwearied ones, ever with swift horses, carry the thoughts, with mind-speeding steeds, to bring help to the worshipper, to the mortal.
They, ever new, adorn the hymn of the aging singer, yoking their chariot; bringing auspicious rain, food, and strength, the Hotar invokes them, the ancient, unfailing, youthful ones.
Those two, beautiful, wondrous, most praised among men, I invoke with both ancient and new words—those who are praised, who bring happiness, who are generous to the singer.
They rescued Bhujyu, son of Tugra, from the waters, from the sea, with their chariot, crossing distances with dustless paths, with flying birds, they brought him safely.
With victorious chariot, you two, O mighty ones, went to the mountain at the call of Vadhrimati; granting favor to the one who lies down, you filled the cows, O generous ones, bringing good fortune.
Whatever greatness of heaven and earth is in the highest sky, or among the gods or mortals, that, O Adityas, Vasus, Rudras, you place as a burning weapon against the demon.
He who, as king, wisely rules the spaces—Mitra and Varuna know this—deep for protection, for the weapon, even against the deceitful, for the word, for the one who brings harm.
With your wheel, come for our offspring, with your shining, man-bearing chariot; with your strength, drive away the enemy of man, even if he is strong, cut off his head.
Come with your bands from the highest, the middle, and the lowest realms; break open even the strong, cattle-rich enclosure for the singer, O generous ones.
Where now are those splendid ones, O much-invoked, whom the hymn as messenger did not find among the unworthy? Those two Asvins, who turn toward us, are most beloved; indeed, the thought of this one is steadfast for them.
Come to me for the offering, as those who praise you, so that you may drink the Soma. Let your course circle around, as you go, unharmed; let nothing else hinder or interrupt your praise.
A path has been made for the Soma-drinker; the sacred grass has been spread, most suitable for your approach. With hands raised, the youthful one has honored you; the stones, shining, have marked your arrival.
Your Agni stands upright in the rituals; the offering flows, adorned with ghee. The priest, eager-minded, moves forward; he has yoked the oblation for you, O Asvins.
For glory, the daughter of the Sun, possessing much, stood upon the chariot with a hundred powers. By their magic, the magicians have acted here; O men, the dancers are born among the worshippers.
You have brought beauty and radiance, splendid, to the daughter of the Sun. Your swift horses have followed for your glory; the praised speech, O lords of the altar, has marked your arrival.
Your swift horses and chariots, O Asvins, have carried you here. Your mind-speeding chariot has been sent forth, eager, urging on the earlier ones.
Indeed, you, possessing much, have nourished abundant gifts like a cow, bestowing wealth repeatedly. Praised are your honeyed and excellent praises, and those who have followed your generosity have come.
And to me, in the city of the swift, a hundred cooked dishes and a hundred in the granary have been given. Shanda has given the wealth of the generous, ten fat cows, and has overcome the mighty ones.
A hundred and a thousand horses, O Asvins, have been given along the many paths of the mountain. Now, O hero, give to Bharadvaja on the mountain; let the destroyers be defeated by your abundant power.
May we attain your favor, your broad path, with the noble ones.
The radiant splendors of the dawns have arisen, shining, standing upon the waters, their horses gleaming. She makes all good paths and easy ways; the generous reward has become abundant.
Beautiful to behold, you shine widely; your rays, O dawn, have spread to the sky. Revealing your form, you make it bright, O goddess dawn, shining with your greatness.
The red horses carry her, shining, spreading good fortune widely. The hero drives away enemies like a spear, dispels darkness, swift as a carrier.
