After you, O Indra, heaven and earth follow your power; the immortal gods strive after you. Do what you wish to do, create new praise with sacrifices.
Great is Indra, who gives to men, lord of peoples, of double height, unweakened in his powers. For us, he has increased heroic deeds, broad and vast, accomplished by the doers of good.
May Dhiṣaṇā place Indra alone for our gain—lofty, exalted, ageless, ever young—shining with mighty strength, who has grown at once in these battles.
Let your broad, all-encompassing hands, O Indra, grant us fame here. Like a herdsman with his cattle, O Indra and Agni, increase our strength in battle.
That Indra, with the praises of Catinama, let us now invoke here, seeking victory, just as the earlier singers did—those worthy, blameless, unharmed ones.
Firm in vow, giver of wealth, grown strong with Soma, he is the possessor of much good fortune. The paths of riches have come together here, like rivers flowing to the ocean.
Bring to us, O mighty one, O heroic Indra, your most powerful strength, overwhelming and fierce; grant to us, O Hariva, all the glories and manly powers of men, for our delight.
That exhilaration of yours, O Indra, which is victorious in battles, bring that to us, shining brightly, by which, with your help, we may gain the protection of offspring and descendants, and live on.
Bring to us, O Indra, the virile vigor, the wealth-bringing, shining, and skillful power, by which we may overcome enemies in battles, and, with your aid, defeat both kin and strangers.
Let your vigor, O bull, come to us from behind, from above, from below, and from the front; let it gather from all directions; O Indra, grant us glory that brings light.
With your heroic aid, O Indra, may we attain your favor with songs of praise; for you, king, see the wealth of both sides; grant us a great, massive, and abundant treasure.
We call upon Indra, the bull, accompanied by the Maruts, ever-growing, unconquerable, the divine ruler; for every help, now, we invoke that mighty one, the strong supporter.
O wielder of the bolt, subdue for these men those who think themselves great among people; thus, O hero, we call upon you for victory on earth, in offspring, cattle, and waters.
With these companions, O much-invoked one, may we be superior to the enemy's enemy; O hero, striking down all adversaries, may we rejoice in great wealth with your aid.
O Indra, as heaven stands firm above the earth, so, by your might, wealth stands among people in battles; grant us, O son of strength, the thousandfold treasure, wide and victorious over Vritra.
O Indra, for you alone, all the power of heaven was established among the gods; when, with Vishnu as ally, you slew the serpent Vritra, who had enveloped the waters.
Indra, the ever-great, became stronger than the strong, more powerful than the powerful, through the sacred hymn; he became king of the sweet Soma, when he shattered all the ancient fortresses.
Here, O Indra, for the wise Dasoni, you broke open the hundred enclosures of the Panis at the call of the hymn; with weapons you destroyed the tricks of the dry, waterless Shushna, and nothing of the foe remained.
You cast away all great hostilities, O Indra, when Shushna fell at the blow of your thunderbolt; you made the path wide for the charioteer, for Kutsa, in the contest for the Sun.
Like a falcon, exhilarating and full of Soma, you, O Indra, struck off the head of the Dasa Namuci; you protected the submissive, the yielding, with blessings and prosperity.
You shattered the strongholds of Pipru, the magician, O wielder of the bolt, with your might; you granted to Rijishvan, the generous, the unassailable gift, to the worshipper.
He, Indra, ever gracious, delivered Vetasu, Dashamaya, Dashoni, and Tutujin; he released Tugra, the ever-young, for shining forth, as a mother sets her child free to grow.
He, bearing the thunderbolt that slays Vritra, subdues foes without resistance; his steeds stand ready, as if in a pit, yoked by words, carrying lofty Indra.
May we, O Indra, gain your ever-new favor; let the Purus praise you with these sacrifices; when you shattered the seven fortresses of the Dasa Shambara for Purukutsa, granting autumnal shelter.
You, Indra, have been mighty from ancient times, granting wide space to Ushana Kavi; you gave to the great father his own descendant, not to be surpassed or overtaken, let the new one remain far away.
You, Indra, as the shaker, set free the trembling waters, like flowing streams; when, O hero, you cross over the sea, bring Turvasha and Yadu safely across.
Indeed, O Indra, in every battle, you are victorious; you have scattered the Cumuri and Dhuni who lay sleeping; shining, you are offered Soma, and the fearful one, the sacrificer, praises you with songs and oblations.
These offerings, O most bountiful Indra, the prayers of the poet, call upon you, hero; the thoughts placed on the chariot, ever-young and unfading, bring wealth and abundance through speech.
I praise that Indra, who knows, eloquent, grown strong through hymns; whose greatness, rich in many forms, has spread over the sky and the earth.
He alone, the best, has extended skill, making it manifest with the sun, as with intelligence; when will mortals, longing for immortality, not transgress your law, O self-sustaining one?
