The sage of the peoples, the lord of the clans, ever youthful, the bull of men; advancing, desiring, shining, the king, Agni, worthy of worship, lord of riches.
That mortal worships Agni and finds joy, who brings the offering with kindling; he who knows the oblation with reverence, all desirable things are granted to him by you.

For him, O Agni, we perform great worship with reverence, with kindling and offerings; O son of strength, on the altar, with songs and hymns, may we strive for your gracious favor.
You who have stretched out the two worlds with your radiance, and who are renowned among the renowned, O Agni, distribute to us great and lasting riches, shining forth with wealth.
O generous one, always be kind to us like a friend; grant us abundant offspring, descendants, and cattle. May many great and splendid blessings, bearing good fame, be ours.
O Agni, many and various are the treasures belonging to you; may we, O king, obtain your wealth. For in you, O bestower, are many gifts; O Agni, you are the giver of wealth, you are the king.
For you, Agni, possess lordly fame, like Mitra you are a master; you, O wise one, are renowned, O generous one, you foster prosperity as one nourishes strength.
You are indeed the one whom peoples seek with sacrifices and hymns; to you the strong one goes, the unerring one, traversing the realms, the universal leader.
With one mind, men kindle you, Agni, as the sign of sacrifice from heaven, when the human race, seeking favor, offers with devotion at the ritual.

Your smoke, O Agni, rises with force to the sky, bright and stretched out; like the sun with its light, you shine, O purifier, with your flame.
Thus, you are to be praised among the clans; you are dear to us as a guest, delightful as a householder, a son to be cherished for protection.
By your will you are born in the vessel, Agni, like a champion to be fashioned; like a calf in the lap, like a horse to be harnessed, a child to be called.
Even those things that do not move, O Agni, like cattle to pasture, your ageless abodes, O youthful one, the flames cut through and consume.
You indeed are fit for the sacrificial act, Agni, as the Hotar in the house of the people; make us prosperous, lord of the people, accept the offering, O Angiras.

O Agni, may he who, devoted to the gods, seeks wide light, be protected by you, righteous and radiant; whom you, together with Mitra and Varuna, O god, guard from harm and mortal distress.
He who worships with sacrifices, rejoices with offerings, and gives to Agni who opens the way—such a one, favored by fame, is never harmed, nor does distress befall the mortal.
Like the sun whose gaze is unblemished, when your fierce flames advance, your thoughts are formidable; the roaring, swift one, the leader—wherever he goes, there is a stirring, a dwelling for the eager.
Even his sharp form here is great; he blazes like a horse harnessed for the race; as the tongue of the axe, he licks, and like molten metal, he melts and burns the wood.
He alone, indeed, has set forth your praise, sharpening your brilliance like a stream of molten metal; whose shining course is wondrous, who is tireless in action, who, like a craftsman, with swift steps, overcomes the hostile.
He, like a bellowing bull, cannot be restrained; the mighty one, radiant, brings forth the dawns as a friend; who by night, who by day, is red among men, the immortal who is red among men by day.
Like the fresh radiance of heaven, whose strength is new, the vigorous one now shines among the plants; like the sun with his steady path, when he, with his wealth, fills both worlds, O bountiful one, with prosperity.
Whether yoked with swift steeds or with hymns, like lightning flashing with its showers, or with his fierce powers; or when he has fashioned the host of the Maruts, like an artisan, the mighty, impetuous one has shone forth.
