Three are the realms, Varuṇa, three the heavens, and three, Mitra, the spaces you uphold; you two, ever-growing, guard the law of the ruler, protecting the unbroken order.
The cows rich in refreshment, Varuṇa, are yours; the honeyed rivers, Mitra, yield for you; three mighty bulls stand, bearers of seed, shining among the three seats.
At dawn I call upon the goddess Aditi, at midday when the sun has risen; for wealth, Mitra and Varuṇa, for all prosperity, for the well-being of offspring and descendants.
You are the supporters of the shining realm and the expanse, O divine Ādityas, of the heavenly and earthly; the immortal gods do not hinder your firm laws, O Mitra and Varuṇa.
Indeed, there is abundant help for you; now, Varuṇa, Mitra, I have sought your good favor.
May we, being true, attain your favor for our protection; may we become your Rudras.
Guard us, O Rudras, with your protections; and deliver us with your saving help, that we may overcome our enemies with our own strength.
Let us not, with our bodies, partake of the wonder-working spirit of anyone; neither by remainder nor by wasting away.
Come to us, O Varuṇa and Mitra, delighting in praise; approach this lovely sacrifice.
For you, Varuṇa and Mitra, are the wise rulers of all; as lords, grant us the fullness of understanding.
Come to our pressed Soma, Varuṇa and Mitra, you who are worshipped; to drink of this Soma.
To Mitra and Varuṇa we offer our songs, as did Atri; sit down on the sacred grass to drink the Soma.
By your vow you stand firm in secure abodes, O upholders of order, O guides of men; come, sit upon the sacred grass to drink Soma.
May Mitra and Varuṇa accept our sacrifice for the sake of the offering; come, sit upon the sacred grass to drink Soma.
Wherever you are today, O Aśvins, whether far or near, or in many places, O enjoyers of much, or in the midspace—come here.
Here, O ever-active ones, bearing many aids, with manifold protections, come, O wondrous-yoked, O swift, I call you for favor.
You have made many wondrous forms for the wondrous, you have yoked the wheel of your chariot; with your great might you speed through the realms, encircling the two Nāhuṣa's yokes.
Whatever is done by your favor, all that is for praise; of diverse birth and appearance, you have become our kin together.
When Sūryā mounts your chariot, ever swift and easy to harness, around you the red birds fly, the rays of the sun shine forth.
Your night is attentive, O men, with kindly mind; when your wondrous, nourishing warmth, O Nāsatyas, is enjoyed.
Your strong trumpet is heard, your team is renowned in the races; with your protections, O Aśvins, the man Atrī has returned.
Sweet is the honey-bearing, nourishing draught, O Rudras, that you pour out; when you cross the sea, the cooked foods bring you strength.
Truly, O Aśvins, they call you bringers of joy; those journeys of yours, most eagerly invoked, those journeys are most gracious.
May these hymns, increasing, be most auspicious for the Aśvins; those which we have composed as chariot-makers, we have spoken with great reverence.
Where are you, O divine Aśvins, today from the sky, O mindful ones? May you hear this, O mighty givers; Atrī calls upon you.
Where are those, where indeed are the famed ones in heaven, O Nāsatyas? Among which people do you strive, with whom of the rivers do you associate?
Whom do you help, whom do you visit, to whom do you yoke your chariot? Whose hymns do you delight in? May we be those whom you favor.
Even the city-dweller, though cast out, you restore to his city; when you seize the thief, like a lion in his lair.
From Cyavāna, the aged, you drove away infirmity, you released him as from a bond; when you made the youth again, fulfilling the desire of the wife.
Indeed, you have here a singer; we are yours for vision and glory; now, O famed ones, come to me with help, O bestowers of strength.
