Together with Mitra and Varuṇa, with Soma and Viṣṇu, come, Agni, to the offering pressed by the sons of Atri, for the contest.
Together with the Ādityas, Vasus, Indra, and Vāyu, come, Agni, to the offering pressed by the sons of Atri, for the contest.
May Bhaga, the Aśvins, grant us well-being; may the goddess Aditi, free from harm, grant us well-being; may Pūṣan, the mighty, bestow well-being upon us; may Heaven and Earth, with good counsel, grant us well-being.
For well-being, let us call upon Vāyu; for well-being, Soma, lord of the world; for well-being, Bṛhaspati, lord of all hosts; may the Ādityas bring us well-being.
May all the gods today grant us well-being; may Agni Vaiśvānara, the beneficent, grant us well-being; may the gods and the ancestors grant us well-being; may Rudra protect us from harm for our well-being.
May Mitra and Varuṇa grant us well-being; may the bountiful goddess of the path grant us well-being; may Indra and Agni grant us well-being; O Aditi, grant us well-being.
May we walk the path of well-being, like the sun and moon; may we return, unharmed, knowing and giving again, may we come together.
O Śyāvāśva, praise with boldness, with hymns, together with the Maruts, who delight in the undeceitful offering and are worthy of sacrifice.
For they are friends of steadfast strength, bold ones; they, with their own power, always protect us from harm.
They are swift, like flowing streams, surpassing the nights; I seek the greatness of the Maruts in heaven and on earth.
To the Maruts let us offer praise and sacrifice with boldness; all those who protect mortals from harm through the ages.
Those noble, generous men, possessing unassailable strength—offer the sacrifice to the worthy ones, to the Maruts in heaven.
With golden ornaments, in battle, the lofty ones have let loose their spears; following them, the flashes of lightning, the Maruts, roar like women in labor, the sun shines by its own power in the sky.
Those who have grown strong on earth, who are in the wide midspace, in the gathering of the rivers, or in the abode of the great sky.
The troop of the Maruts, praised, possessing true strength and vigor; and indeed, O men, your shining chariots are yoked by their own power.
Indeed, on the Paruṣṇī river, the wool-clad ones dwell, pure; and the wheels of their chariots, with their force, break through the mountain.
The main roads, the byroads, the inner paths, the side paths—by these names, the sacrifice is spread wide for me.
Then the men are praised, then the hosts are praised; then, as with the wings of birds, their wondrous forms are seen.
Praising with hymns, the Kubhanyas, pouring forth at the source, are like dancers; some of them, O companions, are mothers, some are seen as radiant.
Those who are lofty, with sharp weapons, wise, and creative—let us honor that host of the Maruts, O seer, with delightful praise.
Go forth, O sage, to the Marut host, generous as Mitra is to a woman; from the sky, with powerful energy, praised by thoughts, they come seeking gifts.
Now, reflecting on them, let us approach the gods, as if to a dwelling; generous, mindful, with noble ones, we come with praises and adornments.
Those noble ones, my kinsmen, speak of the cow, they speak of Pṛśni as mother; then, the wise ones speak of Rudra as father, the mighty one.
Seven for me, seven givers, each gave a hundred; on the banks of the Yamunā, the renowned, below, I cleanse the reward of cattle, above, I cleanse the reward of horses.
Who knows the birth of these, who in ancient times was favored by the Maruts? Who indeed harnessed them?
Who heard the tales of those standing in their chariots, who knew where they went? For whom did they flow, for Sudās, with offerings and rains together?
They have told me that they have come, with shining splendor, in joy; noble, youthful, faultless men, seeing these, praise them.
Those adorned, those with axes, self-bright, with garlands, gold ornaments, and spears; glorious in chariots and on the plains.
Your chariots, Maruts, I have placed in joy, ever-giving; the rains move like streams in the sky.
The generous men have poured out the heavenly vessel for the worshipper; they release Parjanya, the rains spread across the earth and move over the plains.
