That course of his, like the edge of an axe, is turned against the foe, the might of his form is manifest. If, with a companion, he places the treasure in the dwelling for the one who brings the offering.
With his tongue, four-faced, he moves swiftly, adorned in beauty, when Varuṇa restrains the foe. We do not know his manliness, from whom Bhaga and Savitṛ bestow the prize.

May he grant us favor among men, guests, and wives; may he drive far away all enmity and those who walk hostile paths.
Where the fire is kindled, the cattle rush about in the troughs; among men, the heroic household prospers, like a wise one who brings gain.
This is your divine Guide, lord of the chariot, bringer of blessings and wealth; for prosperity, for well-being, praised for his gifts, we honor the god, we honor the god.

The Somas, pressed for Indra and Vāyu, with curd, flow like rivers to the lowland, seeking the prize.

O Śyāvāśva, praise with boldness, with hymns, together with the Maruts, who delight in the undeceitful offering and are worthy of sacrifice.
For they are friends of steadfast strength, bold ones; they, with their own power, always protect us from harm.
They are swift, like flowing streams, surpassing the nights; I seek the greatness of the Maruts in heaven and on earth.
