उपो नयस्व वृषणा तपुष्पोतेमव त्वं वृषभ स्वधावः । ग्रसेतामश्वा वि मुचेह शोणा दिवेदिवे सदृशीरद्धि धानाः
Lead the strong, radiant horses here; you, mighty one, are self-sustaining. Let the red steeds graze and be released; day by day, their actions are ever alike.
ब्रह्मणा ते ब्रह्मयुजा युनज्मि हरी सखाया सधमाद आशू । स्थिरं रथं सुखमिन्द्राधितिष्ठन्प्रजानन्विद्वाँ उप याहि सोमम्
With prayer, I yoke your prayer-guided horses, companions at the shared feast, swift. Mount the firm, pleasant chariot, Indra, knowing and wise, and come to the Soma.
मा ते हरी वृषणा वीतपृष्ठा नि रीरमन्यजमानासो अन्ये । अत्यायाहि शश्वतो वयं तेऽरं सुतेभिः कृणवाम सोमैः
Let not your strong, broad-backed horses be held back by other worshippers. Come swiftly; may we always bring you delight with the pressed Somas.
तवायं सोमस्त्वमेह्यर्वाङ्छश्वत्तमं सुमना अस्य पाहि । अस्मिन्यज्ञे बर्हिष्या निषद्या दधिष्वेमं जठर इन्दुमिन्द्र
This Soma is for you; come near, Indra, most knowing, with a good mind, and drink. In this sacrifice, seated on the sacred grass, place this pressed juice in your belly.
स्तीर्णं ते बर्हिः सुत इन्द्र सोमः कृता धाना अत्तवे ते हरिभ्याम् । तदोकसे पुरुशाकाय वृष्णे मरुत्वते तुभ्यं राता हवींषि
The sacred grass is spread for you, Indra; the Soma is pressed. The offerings are prepared for you and your horses. To you, mighty, many-formed, accompanied by the Maruts, these oblations are given.
इमं नरः पर्वतास्तुभ्यमापः समिन्द्र गोभिर्मधुमन्तमक्रन् । तस्यागत्या सुमना ऋष्व पाहि प्रजानन्विद्वान्पथ्या अनु स्वाः
O men, for you the waters have approached the mountains; with Indra, they have made the honeyed milk with cows. With his coming, O lofty one, guard us graciously, knowing and wise, following the proper paths.
याँ आभजो मरुत इन्द्र सोमे ये त्वामवर्धन्नभवन्गणस्ते । तेभिरेतं सजोषा वावशानोऽग्नेः पिब जिह्वया सोममिन्द्र
Those who, O Indra, Maruts, and Soma, have strengthened you, who became your companions—together with them, eager, drink this Soma with Agni's tongue, O Indra.
इन्द्र पिब स्वधया चित्सुतस्याग्नेर्वा पाहि जिह्वया यजत्र । अध्वर्योर्वा प्रयतं शक्र हस्ताद्धोतुर्वा यज्ञं हविषो जुषस्व
Indra, drink with delight the pressed Soma, or drink it with Agni's tongue, O worthy of worship; or accept the sacrifice from the hands of the priest, O mighty one, or from the hotar, enjoy the offerings of the ritual.
शुनं हुवेम मघवानमिन्द्रमस्मिन्भरे नृतमं वाजसातौ । शृण्वन्तमुग्रमूतये समत्सु घ्नन्तं वृत्राणि संजितं धनानाम्
Let us call upon Indra, the generous, in this contest, the foremost among men in winning prizes; the mighty one who listens for help in battles, who slays the foes, who conquers wealth.
इमामू षु प्रभृतिं सातये धाः शश्वच्छश्वदूतिभिर्यादमानः । सुतेसुते वावृधे वर्धनेभिर्यः कर्मभिर्महद्भिः सुश्रुतो भूत्
Set forth this offering for gain, always, always striving with messengers; he has grown strong in every pressing, with acts of greatness, he has become renowned.
इन्द्राय सोमाः प्रदिवो विदाना ऋभुर्येभिर्वृषपर्वा विहायाः । प्रयम्यमानान्प्रति षू गृभायेन्द्र पिब वृषधूतस्य वृष्णः
For Indra, the Soma juices are pressed from the sky, with which the mighty ones ascend; as they are being poured out, seize them, Indra, drink the Soma stirred by the bull.
पिबा वर्धस्व तव घा सुतास इन्द्र सोमासः प्रथमा उतेमे । यथापिबः पूर्व्याँ इन्द्र सोमाँ एवा पाहि पन्यो अद्या नवीयान्
Drink and grow, for your sake these Somas are pressed, O Indra; these are the first, indeed. As you drank the earlier Somas, so drink today the newest, O praised one.
महाँ अमत्रो वृजने विरप्श्युग्रं शवः पत्यते धृष्ण्वोजः । नाह विव्याच पृथिवी चनैनं यत्सोमासो हर्यश्वममन्दन्
The great, measureless one, in the gathering, his fierce might rules with bold strength; not even the earth could contain him, when the Somas delighted the horse-loving one.
महाँ उग्रो वावृधे वीर्याय समाचक्रे वृषभः काव्येन । इन्द्रो भगो वाजदा अस्य गावः प्र जायन्ते दक्षिणा अस्य पूर्वीः
The great, fierce one has grown for heroism, the bull has accomplished with wisdom; Indra, the giver of wealth, from him cows are born, his gifts are abundant and ancient.
प्र यत्सिन्धवः प्रसवं यथायन्नापः समुद्रं रथ्येव जग्मुः । अतश्चिदिन्द्रः सदसो वरीयान्यदीं सोमः पृणति दुग्धो अंशुः
When the rivers move forth with their flow, the waters go to the ocean as if on a chariot; from this, Indra is greater than the assembly, when Soma fills, the pressed juice nourishes.
समुद्रेण सिन्धवो यादमाना इन्द्राय सोमं सुषुतं भरन्तः । अंशुं दुहन्ति हस्तिनो भरित्रैर्मध्वः पुनन्ति धारया पवित्रैः
The rivers, moving together with the ocean, bring the well-pressed Soma to Indra; the Soma is milked by the hands of the elephants, purified by the honey and filtered through sieves.
ह्रदा इव कुक्षयः सोमधानाः समी विव्याच सवना पुरूणि । अन्ना यदिन्द्रः प्रथमा व्याश वृत्रं जघन्वाँ अवृणीत सोमम्
Like lakes, the vessels hold the Soma, many gatherings spread forth; when Indra first divided the food, he slew the serpent and chose the Soma.
आ तू भर माकिरेतत्परि ष्ठाद्विद्मा हि त्वा वसुपतिं वसूनाम् । इन्द्र यत्ते माहिनं दत्रमस्त्यस्मभ्यं तद्धर्यश्व प्र यन्धि
Bring it here, let nothing be left behind; for we know you, Indra, as the lord of wealth among the rich. O horse-loving Indra, send to us that mighty gift which is yours.
अस्मे प्र यन्धि मघवन्नृजीषिन्निन्द्र रायो विश्ववारस्य भूरेः । अस्मे शतं शरदो जीवसे धा अस्मे वीराञ्छश्वत इन्द्र शिप्रिन्
Send to us, O generous, victorious Indra, the abundant wealth of all kinds; grant us a hundred autumns to live, grant us heroes, O Indra, with the tuft.
शुनं हुवेम मघवानमिन्द्रमस्मिन्भरे नृतमं वाजसातौ । शृण्वन्तमुग्रमूतये समत्सु घ्नन्तं वृत्राणि संजितं धनानाम्

वार्त्रहत्याय शवसे पृतनाषाह्याय च । इन्द्र त्वा वर्तयामसि
For the slaying of the foe and for overcoming in battle, Indra, we set you in motion.
अर्वाचीनं सु ते मन उत चक्षुः शतक्रतो । इन्द्र कृण्वन्तु वाघतः
Let your mind and sight be turned toward us, O Indra of a hundred powers; let the prayers make you favorable.
नामानि ते शतक्रतो विश्वाभिर्गीर्भिरीमहे । इन्द्राभिमातिषाह्ये
We invoke all your names, O Indra of a hundred powers, with every hymn, for overcoming the adversary.
पुरुष्टुतस्य धामभिः शतेन महयामसि । इन्द्रस्य चर्षणीधृतः
With a hundred powers of the much-praised one, we magnify Indra, the supporter of the peoples.
इन्द्रं वृत्राय हन्तवे पुरुहूतमुप ब्रुवे । भरेषु वाजसातये
I call upon Indra, much-invoked, to slay the Vṛtra, for the gaining of strength in battles.
वाजेषु सासहिर्भव त्वामीमहे शतक्रतो । इन्द्र वृत्राय हन्तवे
Be victorious in contests, O hundred-powered one; we seek you, Indra, to slay the Vṛtra.
द्युम्नेषु पृतनाज्ये पृत्सुतूर्षु श्रवस्सु च । इन्द्र साक्ष्वाभिमातिषु
In glories, in the rush of battle, in contests for prizes and for fame, O Indra, be present in the struggles.
शुष्मिन्तमं न ऊतये द्युम्निनं पाहि जागृविम् । इन्द्र सोमं शतक्रतो
Protect the most invigorating, the glorious Soma for our help, O Indra, hundred-powered, ever-watchful.
इन्द्रियाणि शतक्रतो या ते जनेषु पञ्चसु । इन्द्र तानि त आ वृणे
The powers, O hundred-powered Indra, which are yours among the five peoples—those, Indra, I choose for you.
अगन्निन्द्र श्रवो बृहद्द्युम्नं दधिष्व दुष्टरम् । उत्ते शुष्मं तिरामसि
Indra, gain great fame; establish unconquerable glory; with your strength, overcome your foes.
