अग्ने विश्वेभिरग्निभिर्देवेभिर्महया गिरः । यज्ञेषु य उ चायवः
Agni, with all the fires and gods, magnify our praises; those who are active in the sacrifices.
अग्ने दा दाशुषे रयिं वीरवन्तं परीणसम् । शिशीहि नः सूनुमतः
Agni, give to the worshipper wealth, full of heroes and abundance; protect us with your favor for the sons.
अग्ने दिवः सूनुरसि प्रचेतास्तना पृथिव्या उत विश्ववेदाः । ऋधग्देवाँ इह यजा चिकित्वः
Agni, you are the son of heaven, wise, and also of earth, all-knowing; O wise one, worship the gods here.
अग्निः सनोति वीर्याणि विद्वान्सनोति वाजममृताय भूषन् । स नो देवाँ एह वहा पुरुक्षो
Agni, knowing, grants strength, grants prize for immortality; may he bring the gods here for us, full of gifts.
अग्निर्द्यावापृथिवी विश्वजन्ये आ भाति देवी अमृते अमूरः । क्षयन्वाजैः पुरुश्चन्द्रो नमोभिः
Agni, born of heaven and earth, universal, shines forth, divine, immortal, unfailing; dwelling with prizes, radiant with offerings and reverence.
अग्न इन्द्रश्च दाशुषो दुरोणे सुतावतो यज्ञमिहोप यातम् । अमर्धन्ता सोमपेयाय देवा
Agni and Indra, come to the worshipper's home, to the sacrifice of the one who presses Soma; O gods, undefeated, for the drinking of Soma.
अग्ने अपां समिध्यसे दुरोणे नित्यः सूनो सहसो जातवेदः । सधस्थानि महयमान ऊती
Agni, you are kindled among the waters, in the home, eternal, son of strength, knower of all births; magnify the seats with your aid.
वैश्वानरं मनसाग्निं निचाय्या हविष्मन्तो अनुषत्यं स्वर्विदम् । सुदानुं देवं रथिरं वसूयवो गीर्भी रण्वं कुशिकासो हवामहे
With mind, we approach Vaiśvānara Agni, the knower of light, bearing offerings, the generous god, the charioteer, the giver of wealth; the Kuśikas call him with songs.
तं शुभ्रमग्निमवसे हवामहे वैश्वानरं मातरिश्वानमुक्थ्यम् । बृहस्पतिं मनुषो देवतातये विप्रं श्रोतारमतिथिं रघुष्यदम्
We call upon that shining Agni for help, Vaiśvānara, Mātariśvan, worthy of praise; Bṛhaspati, the wise, the listener, the guest, swift to come for mankind's worship.
अश्वो न क्रन्दञ्जनिभिः समिध्यते वैश्वानरः कुशिकेभिर्युगेयुगे । स नो अग्निः सुवीर्यं स्वश्व्यं दधातु रत्नममृतेषु जागृविः
Like a neighing horse, Vaiśvānara is kindled by the Kuśikas in every age; may Agni grant us heroic strength, wealth in horses, and the treasure among immortals, ever watchful.
प्र यन्तु वाजास्तविषीभिरग्नयः शुभे सम्मिश्लाः पृषतीरयुक्षत । बृहदुक्षो मरुतो विश्ववेदसः प्र वेपयन्ति पर्वताँ अदाभ्याः
Let the powerful fires go forth with vigor, shining, mingled, yoked with spotted mares; the Maruts, great milkers, all-knowing, shake the unyielding mountains.
अग्निश्रियो मरुतो विश्वकृष्टय आ त्वेषमुग्रमव ईमहे वयम् । ते स्वानिनो रुद्रिया वर्षनिर्णिजः सिंहा न हेषक्रतवः सुदानवः
Agni's splendor, the Maruts, all peoples, we invoke your fierce and mighty aid; those of your own, Rudra's sons, pouring rain, lions in roar, generous in deeds.
व्रातंव्रातं गणंगणं सुशस्तिभिरग्नेर्भामं मरुतामोज ईमहे । पृषदश्वासो अनवभ्रराधसो गन्तारो यज्ञं विदथेषु धीराः
Band by band, troop by troop, with good praises, we seek Agni's brilliance and the Maruts' strength; the spotted-horsed, givers of rain, wise, come to the sacrifice in the assemblies.
अग्निरस्मि जन्मना जातवेदा घृतं मे चक्षुरमृतं म आसन् । अर्कस्त्रिधातू रजसो विमानोऽजस्रो घर्मो हविरस्मि नाम
I am Agni by birth, knower of all births; ghee is my sight, immortality my seat; the hymn is my triple abode, I move through the realms; unaging warmth, offering is my name.
त्रिभिः पवित्रैरपुपोद्ध्यर्कं हृदा मतिं ज्योतिरनु प्रजानन् । वर्षिष्ठं रत्नमकृत स्वधाभिरादिद्द्यावापृथिवी पर्यपश्यत्
With three purifying filters, he approached the sun, knowing light with his heart and mind; by his own powers, he made the most precious treasure, and thus heaven and earth beheld him.
शतधारमुत्समक्षीयमाणं विपश्चितं पितरं वक्त्वानाम् । मेळिं मदन्तं पित्रोरुपस्थे तं रोदसी पिपृतं सत्यवाचम्
He, the wise father of speech, flows with a hundred streams, delighting in the lap of his parents; the two worlds cherish him, the true-spoken one.
प्र वो वाजा अभिद्यवो हविष्मन्तो घृताच्या । देवाञ्जिगाति सुम्नयुः
We call upon you, O givers of strength, with offerings and clarified butter; the one who brings joy seeks the favor of the gods.
ईळे अग्निं विपश्चितं गिरा यज्ञस्य साधनम् । श्रुष्टीवानं धितावानम्
I praise Agni, the wise, with words; the accomplisher of sacrifice, attentive and thoughtful.
अग्ने शकेम ते वयं यमं देवस्य वाजिनः । अति द्वेषांसि तरेम
O Agni, may we, with your help, O mighty god, overcome hostility and pass beyond hatred.
समिध्यमानो अध्वरेऽग्निः पावक ईड्यः । शोचिष्केशस्तमीमहे
Agni, shining and worthy of praise, is kindled in the ritual; we seek him whose flames are his hair.
पृथुपाजा अमर्त्यो घृतनिर्णिक्स्वाहुतः । अग्निर्यज्ञस्य हव्यवाट्
Agni, immortal with broad feet, clarified butter his cleansing, is invoked with offerings; he is the carrier of oblations in the sacrifice.
तं सबाधो यतस्रुच इत्था धिया यज्ञवन्तः । आ चक्रुरग्निमूतये
Those who strive together, with proper implements and devotion, have established Agni for worship.
होता देवो अमर्त्यः पुरस्तादेति मायया । विदथानि प्रचोदयन्
The immortal god, the priest, advances in front with skill, urging on the rituals.
वाजी वाजेषु धीयतेऽध्वरेषु प्र णीयते । विप्रो यज्ञस्य साधनः
The strong one is honored among the strong, led forth in the rituals; the sage is the accomplisher of sacrifice.
धिया चक्रे वरेण्यो भूतानां गर्भमा दधे । दक्षस्य पितरं तना
By thought he created the most excellent, placed the embryo of beings, the father of skill and offspring.
नि त्वा दधे वरेण्यं दक्षस्येळा सहस्कृत । अग्ने सुदीतिमुशिजम्
I have placed you, O excellent one, with skill, with prayer and strength; O Agni, radiant, the opener of paths.
अग्निं यन्तुरमप्तुरमृतस्य योगे वनुषः । विप्रा वाजैः समिन्धते
The wise kindle Agni, the guide and helper, in union with immortality, with strength and offerings.
ऊर्जो नपातमध्वरे दीदिवांसमुप द्यवि । अग्निमीळे कविक्रतुम्
I praise Agni, the son of strength, shining in the ritual, on the altar, possessing the wisdom of a sage.
ईळेन्यो नमस्यस्तिरस्तमांसि दर्शतः । समग्निरिध्यते वृषा
He is to be praised and honored, the remover of darkness, the visible one; Agni, the mighty, is kindled together.
वृषो अग्निः समिध्यतेऽश्वो न देववाहनः । तं हविष्मन्त ईळते
Mighty Agni is kindled, like a horse bearing the gods; those with offerings praise him.
