And may you, O Brahman, be for us the most invoked among hymns, O Agni, who delights the Maruts, giver of a thousand gifts.
Now grant us wealth with a thousand, with offspring and nourishment; O shining Agni, bestow the highest, unassailable heroic strength.
The gracious Hotar, true in sacrifice, most skilled in poetry, that creator, Agni, with a chariot flashing like lightning, son of strength, with fiery hair, has spread his energy upon the earth.
I approach you with words of praise; accept them, mighty one, for they are offered to you. Knowing, you lead the wise and seat them in the midst, upon the sacred grass, for worship.
Let the dawns, rich in prizes, hasten to you, Agni, along the paths of the wind. When they bring the ancient offering, like a loving wife, they stand together in the home.
Mitra and Varuna, mighty ones, and all the Maruts offer you their favor, Agni. With your flame, son of strength, stand forth, spreading over the lands as the sun spreads among men.
Today we have fulfilled your desire, approaching with uplifted hands and reverence. With the most devoted mind, worship the gods; let the inspired priest, Agni, carry our thoughts.
From you, son of strength, many gifts come; the blessings of the god and the prizes. Grant us wealth in thousands, Agni, with truthful speech and without harm.
To you, wise one, the mortals have performed these rites with skill and insight. Be aware of all the noble gifts, Agni; all this, immortal one, is yours to enjoy.
Shining with broad energy, drive away enemies, demons, and disease. May we be in the great protection of Agni, the gracious guide.
At the breaking of this dawn, be our guardian, Agni, at the rising of the sun. Always accept our praise as a parent accepts their child; cherish my hymn, Agni, born of your own essence.
You, Agni, with the vision of men, shine forth with your red light among the dark ones. Lead us, carry us beyond distress; grant us wealth, O youngest and most vigorous.
Unyielding, Agni, mighty bull, blaze forth, conquering all prosperity. Leader of sacrifice, first in nourishment, knower of all births, guide us well with your greatness.
Grant us unbroken protection, O singer, many blessings, O gods, shining brightly, wise ones. Like a swift chariot, bring us victory, Agni; you unite the two worlds for us in harmony.
Pour forth, mighty one, stir up the prizes, Agni; you unite the two worlds for us with abundance. Shine with the gods, divine one, with radiant light; let not the evil mind of mortals surround us.
Grant us, Agni, abundant food, wealth of cattle, lasting prosperity for the one who offers. May our son and offspring be victorious; may your favor be with us.
This Agni is master of heroic strength, of greatness and prosperity. He is lord of wealth, of good fortune, and of the destruction of obstacles.
O men, Maruts, join together in this mighty one, in whom wealth abides. In battles, those who are fierce gather around him, and everywhere they overcome the enemy.
So you, giver, grant us wealth, Agni, heroic strength. Grant us abundant, powerful, offspring-rich, unharmed, and vigorous prosperity.
He who has acted among all beings, who has conquered, who has done good among the gods. Strive among the gods for heroic strength, and praise among men.
O Agni, do not bring us to folly, to lack of manliness, or to poverty, O son of strength. Do not make us subject to hatred or enmity.
Grant us, O fortunate Agni, wealth abounding in offspring at the great sacrifice. Release to us abundant riches, joy-bringing, of great fame and glory.
Ignited, you follow the first laws; you are praised by the worshippers, O all-possessing one. With flaming hair, clarified butter as your purifier, you, Agni, pure and skilled in sacrifice, bring the gods to the ritual.
As you, Agni, have performed the priestly office on earth, as you, Jātavedas, have done in heaven with wisdom, so with this offering may you worship the gods; today, as men, let us cross beyond with the sacrifice.
Three are your lives, O Jātavedas; three dawns have been born for you, O Agni. By these, wise one, bring the help of the gods, and then be a source of blessing for the worshipper.
We praise Agni, radiant and beautiful, worthy of homage, O Jātavedas. You, messenger, bringer of offerings, the gods made the center of immortality.
Whoever before you, Agni, was the best priest, and who, by his own power, was gracious—following his law, O wise one, perform the sacrifice; then, for us, direct the ritual with divine favor.
Be gracious to us, Agni, as you approach, like a friend to a friend, like a good son to his father. For the peoples are full of many hostilities; burn away our foes, facing them on every side.
Burn, O Agni, among the enemies; burn the hostile curse and the wrath of the stranger. Burn, O wise one, those without understanding; may your undying, tireless flames stand against them.
With kindling wood, O Agni, and with clarified butter, I offer the oblation for strength and power. As long as I am able with prayer, honoring, may I praise this divine thought for a hundred years.
