Then Agni, the seed among men, established by Mitra through truth, has arisen from the worshipper's offering; the sage, worthy of invocation, has become the support of thoughts.
Agni becomes Mitra when kindled; Mitra is the Hotar, Varuṇa is the knower of births; Mitra is the Adhvaryu, the inspired, the householder; Mitra is also of the rivers and the mountains.
He protects the beloved, the foremost path of the horse; he guards the swift course of the sun; Agni preserves the navel of the seven-headed, and the lofty likeness of the gods.
The Ribhus fashioned the worthy, beautiful name; the god, knowing all skills, made every form; he wraps the skin, the ghee-filled footstep; thus Agni protects, never ceasing.

Newborn, he grows with the plants, when they flourish, nourished by ghee; like waters flowing, shining, Agni rests in the lap of his parents.

He fills the two worlds as he is born; and now the gifts are brought, the offering is ready; even in heaven, Agni, by your greatness and on earth, let your seven-tongued fires be spoken of.

Harness, O tawny-haired one, the well-yoked, ghee-anointed red steeds of truth to the yoke. Then, O god Jātavedas, bring all the gods, making the ritual well-ordered.
Even from the sky your lights shine forth; you follow the ancient dawns as they brighten. When, O Agni, the gods, delighting in the offering, carry the oblations in the woods of the sacrificial fire.
Whether they rejoice in the wide atmosphere or dwell in the shining realm of heaven, or those gracious, worshipful ones who have come, O Agni, let your chariot-horses bring them here.
With these, O Agni, come hither together with your chariot, or with many chariots, for you have many horses. Bring the thirty-three gods who have wives, each according to the ritual, and rejoice.

He is the priest for whom even the two worlds are broad, who is praised for every sacrifice. At the ritual, the two, right-ordered and true-born, stand facing east in the truth of the rite.
Grant us, O Agni, abundant, lasting wealth of cattle, the best sustenance for the one who invokes you. May our son and his offspring be victorious; may your good favor be with us.

The cows of heaven, the strong horses, the goddesses, have stood, bearing sweetness. In the seat of truth, the cow moves alone, seeking your well-being.
Now they have ascended, becoming well-yoked; the wise lord of the givers knows. The many-formed one, with dark back, has settled them, the one of many shapes.
