From the Hotṛ, from the Potṛ, from the Neṣṭṛ, they have drunk, they have enjoyed the prepared offering; the fourth vessel, unsoiled, immortal, let the bestowers of wealth drink from the bestower of wealth.
Today, harness your excellent, man-carrying chariot, bring it here for your release; mix the offerings with honey, come here, then drink the soma, O possessors of wealth in horses.
Accept, O Agni, the kindling, accept the oblation, accept the sacred utterance, accept the good praise; with all the gods, O treasure-giver, with all the seasons, O shining god, make the offering pleasing.
The god Savitṛ has risen for impelling; the ever-shining fire has taken its place among the waters; now he bestows the treasure upon the gods, then he apportions the sacrificial portion for well-being.
For indeed, O god, for the hearing of all, he stretches forth his broad-handed arms upward; even the waters keep his law, and even this wind delights in his circuit.
He now surely releases the bound, even one who is unsteady and slothful; even among the swift, among the restless, he follows the ordinance of Savitar, which is to be loosed.
Again the wise one set the woven web together, placing the mid-region in the midst of the maker; having drawn forth the fountain, he stood by the seasons, Savitar the god approached with his intention.
No houses, no evil, nor the whole span of life, can withstand the overwhelming blaze of Agni; the mother assigned the eldest share to the son, following the sign appointed by Savitar.
He, established together, desiring to win, became the desire of all who move; ever, having abandoned what is deformed, he went forth, following the ordinance of divine Savitar.
The portion set in the waters by you, and on the plains, the hunters have distributed; the forests, too, none of them diminish the ordinances of the god Savitar.
Whatever seat Varuṇa has established, whatever unrestrained, trembling, or blinking, all the offspring of the Sun, all cattle, Savitar has unfolded their births in order.
Whose ordinance neither Indra, nor Varuṇa, nor Mitra, nor Aryaman, nor Rudra, nor adversaries diminish—him, this god Savitar, I invoke with reverence for our welfare.
May Bhaga, thought, strength, liberality, Naraśaṃsa, and the lord of women protect us; may we be dear to the god Savitar in the assembly, in the gathering of riches.
May that desirable gift, given by you from heaven, from the waters, from the earth, come to us; may what is auspicious for the praiser, for protection, come from Savitar, for wide renown.
Like stones for pressing, you are stirred for this purpose; like a vulture toward a tree rich in treasure; like a priest at the rite, reciting hymns; like a messenger, you carry the offerings of men in many places.
Like heroes on a chariot, you come at dawn; like a groom choosing a bride, you unite; like one delighting in his own body, shining; like a couple wise in counsel among people.
Like a horn, come to us first from near; like the jaws of a restless beast, with your teeth; like the chakravāka bird at the approach of dawn, come forward like mighty ones on a chariot.
Like a boat, carry us across; like a yoke, like a nave, like a support, like a prop; like a dog, protect our bodies from harm; like a hedgehog, guard us from slipping.
Like the wind, swift; like a river, flowing; like eyes, come near with your sight; like hands, be most beneficent to our body; like feet, lead us to wealth.
Like lips, speaking sweetly with honey; like breasts, nourish us for life; like nostrils, be our protectors; like ears, be well-hearing for us.
Like an elephant, grant us strength; like earth, unite the realms for us; these songs, O Aśvins, inspired by you, sharpen like a whetstone the axe.
These, O Aśvins, are your increasing deeds; the Gṛtsamadas have made the hymn and praise; come, O men, delighting in them, let us speak forth greatly in the assembly, strong in men.
Soma and Pūṣan are the originators of wealth, the originators of heaven, the originators of earth; born as guardians of all the worlds, the gods made them the navel of immortality.
These two gods, being born, delight; these two, unwelcomed, conceal the darkness. With Soma and Pūṣan, Indra brings forth the ripe ones among the cows.
Soma and Pūṣan drive the seven-wheeled chariot, the vehicle of all realms, traversing the spaces, yoked by mind; you invigorate it, O mighty ones, with five rays.
One made his dwelling in the sky, high above; the other on earth, and another in the midspace. May you grant us abundant, manifold wealth and nourishment, and establish the navel for us.
One generated all the worlds; the other moves, beholding all. Soma and Pūṣan, support my insight; with you two, may we conquer all battles.
Let Pūṣan invigorate my insight, the source of all riches; let Soma, lord of wealth, bestow prosperity. May goddess Aditi protect us, unharmed; may we speak greatly in the assembly, as heroes.
O Vāyu, those thousand-horsed chariots of yours—come with them, accompanied by your attendants, to drink the Soma.
Come with your attendants, O Vāyu; I bring this bright offering to you. You will come to the house of the one who presses Soma.
