The bull, accompanied by the Maruts, has delighted us; with ever-growing strength, he does not abandon us. Like the sun's shadow, may I always seek the grace of Rudra.

Praise the renowned, youthful, cave-dwelling one, fierce as a wild beast, formidable and mighty. Be gracious to the worshipper, Rudra; let your hosts turn elsewhere, not toward us.
Even the child bows to his father as Rudra approaches. You are the giver of abundance, the true lord; praised, you grant remedies to us.

Thus, brown, mighty, wise one, as a god you neither harm nor injure. Hear our invocation, Rudra; awaken here, so we may speak greatly in the assembly, strong in men.

With fuel, cows, and nourishing milk, with travelers and paths, their shining vision spreads. Like swans, O Maruts, united in purpose, you come to your sisters for the delight of honey.
Come to us, O Maruts, united in purpose, as men come to praise at the sacrifices. Nourish the cow at the udder like a horse; grant wisdom to the worshipper, rich in strength.

Whenever the Maruts, with golden breastplates, harness their horses to the chariots, O generous Bhaga, like a cow nourishing her calf in her stalls, they pour forth abundant sustenance for the people who offer reverent oblations.

Marvelous indeed is your approach, O Maruts, which is observed when, from the udder of Prishni, you drew forth nourishing streams; or when, O Rudrian ones, you, ever youthful, invigorate the aged and the weak with your triple strength.
Those mighty Maruts, ever advancing, we invoke at the offering of Vishnu; golden-hued, crowned, and radiant, they dwell in the heights, and within the sacred chants we seek their praiseworthy favor.
Those ten-powered ones first awakened the sacrifice; may they inspire us at the breaking of dawn; like the lovely Ushas, adorned with red, she fills the world with great light, shining with the radiance of cows.

By which you carry the needy across distress, by which you free the worshipper from harm, let that favor, O Maruts, approach us; may your good will, like a cow to her calf, come near and bring us joy.
